this is 9news now. >> good evening, everyone. i'm matt jablow, bruce johnson has the night off. killing her own daughter and injuring four other children, only on 9 tonight, suray chin speaks to the woman who was there that night. >> reporter: they were playing a game of tag in the driveway when this tragedy happened. all the children who were injured are out of the hospital

except ten-year-old isaac gonzalez. she heard the screams and couldn't find her son. >> i think he had died. i called him and no answer. >> i feel terrible, scared. i feel like, where's my son. >> her son warned the other kids before the suv came barreling towards them. >> he tried to tell the other kids to go away. >> marion was behind the wheel when she mistakenly hit the gas pedal in a driveway of children. the impact killed her eight- year-old daughter, natalie. >> we miss him. >> 14-year-old kevin lifted the garage door to the adults could pull the children out. >> the rest were in there, so one by one, we had to take the kids out. and isaac was the last one. >> isaac is also the last one still in the hospital with broken bones and barely

speaking. >> do you remember your brother helping you out? how are you feeling today, helen? >> good. >> the seven-year-old helen doesn't remember how she got the scrapes and bruises. >> she woke up in pain, mommy, what happened? i don't remember what happened. >> the family's feel for the mother who lost her daughter, while isaac's mother is hoping her son pulls through. at children's hospital in washington, suray chin, 9news now. >> the driver did not have a valid driver's license, but they are not expecting them to charge her. flood waters receded across the area and local utilities say virtually everyone who lost power has it back. in maryland, the storm caused more than a million dollars in damage in harper county. more than a dozen homes damaged and tonight, we have confirmation that that's where one of three tornadoes touched

down in our area. anny is in the weather center with more. pretty incredible stuff. >> basically going through reports of storm damage and they have confirmed quite a few tornadoes so far. here's a look at those confirmed tornadoes. ef1 pleasant hill, which is the one in heartford county, maryland. we had two es bureaus in de demascas, maryland. that was east of u.s. 50 and the beltway interchange. bwi airport, carol county also the national weather service confirming tornadoes there, but they have not been rated. in fact, our friends at the national weather service tells us that more tornado reports are possible as far as they are still going through more of them.

those ef0 and 1 are minor tornado, up to 86, 110-mile per hour winds. they factor in the damage. you can see right now, things have cleared out. let's talk about the chance of showers tomorrow, maybe a couple more thunderstorms later, back to you. >> the severe weather left the area just in time for parishers in deanwood. they held a parade today in northeast d.c. the same streets that shined were hit hard by yesterday's storms. debris littered the ground. trees had fallen over and cars sank into flooded streets. church goers were on the parade route under mild temperatures and clear skies today. >> it's amazing. all i could say is, we thank god for it because only he could have done this. after yesterday, with the weather, he sent us good weather today. >> the church is celebrating its 110 year anniversary of

being in the neighborhood. >> breaking news now from canada where police are searching for the person who opened fire in one of the busiest malls. one person was killed, seven others injured when someone started shooting inside the food court in downtown toronto. 25-year-old man died at the scene. two people, including a 13-year- old boy are in critical condition. two other people were trampled, including a pregnant woman who went into labor. police are reviewing security tapes to see if they can identify the shooter. thousands of people flooded the streets of cairo today after the country's former president was sentenced to life in prison. failing to stop protesters who ousted him from power. not much in the government has

changed. >> sending a message that they can do whatever they want to do. >> he reportedly suffered a health crisis after the ruling. he was taken to a prison hospital. right now, there's no update on his condition. the u.s. department of justice thinks at least some of the documents sealed in the water gate burglary case should be released. the texas history professor made the request. he believes hundreds of pages of documents from the break in will help answer lingering questions about the case that ultimately forced richard nixon to resign. an attorney said the agency would not oppose the release of some of the documents. an 11-year-old boy in minnesota is keeping a close eye on a note written by president obama. tyler sullivan missed school on friday because his dad took him to see the commander in chief give a speech. they were in the front row. the president came over, shook tyler's hand, pulled out a presidential pad and pep and

bells could be heard all around london today, helping kick off the weekend's diamond jubilee session. 60 years since queen elizabeth ascended to the thrown. passing new bells in the queen's name. >> there's a lot more than celebrating happening in london this weekend as charlie reports. british forces are also in the mist of the biggest royal security operation in their history. >> over the past month, police and dogs have been scouring every inch of central london's 40 square miles in the search for explosives. the center attraction is a security nightmare. sunday's jubilee pageant. 1,000 boats with tens and thousands of people on board will follow the queen and every other senior member of the

royal family down the river. >> this is a pretty unique undertaking for us. 6,000 police officers combining everything you can think of. marine support, firearms. making sure they are visible looking after the crowd. >> they will be protected bay fleet of royal navy and police vessels ranging from high visibility crafts to unmarked speed boasts with specialist armed forces on board. already on exercise from the upcoming olympics have carried out under water searches. more than a million people are expected to line the banks and thousands more on bridges which will all be shut down to traffic for the entire day. 13,000 security forces will be positioned in london. any vacation has been canceled. >> what you are not seeing is going on all day, every day, carried out by the security service and the police.

each week, we look in various neighborhoods for health dangers so severe, that inspectors shut restaurants down. investigative reporter goes to prince georges and fairfax county as well as the districts right down the street. >> you know when the health department uses words like imminent health hazard and a

possible danger to public health, you have a serious problem. and one of the cases is just four blocks from where i'm standing here in the newsroom. it was inside the prince cafe, inspectors reported gross, unsanitary conditions which may endanger the public health. >> not unclean. i should say. >> it's not a very good thing. of course not. >> inspectors didn't laugh when they found dead roaches in light fixtures, uncleaned containers, heavily stained cutting boards and no hot water. the door is locked and no one is answering the telephone number that they have on the window. neighbors here say this restaurant has a reputation for not being tidy. inside, dishes are stacked. in back, you'll see clutter, pipes draped on a door, pans,

cooking equipment exposed to the element and no explanation as to why this back door is marked danger. neighbors in this northwest neighborhood say they have complained multiple times, but the district's web page didn't document ever responding. only after we inquired did they update this inspection that led to this closure. a closing of a very different kind at this fairfax county restaurant making pizza without a license shut down z pizza because inspectors found it operating without the proper permit. the pizza shop is now back to making dough. when asked the health department spokesperson why previous inspections weren't on the website and several other critical inspections involving closures didn't show up either, she replied that some cases require additional review. when i pressed the matter, she hung up on me.

58 andrews air force base. 59 in martinsburg. this is a nice night to open those windows and give the ac a break. our satellite and radar picture, we have high pressure in control. the storms way off into the northeast into parts of new england. we'll see more sunshine tomorrow. a slight chance for a few changes in the afternoon. overall, i would say a pleasant sunday for most of us. a few late afternoon, evening showers, maybe an isolated thunderstorm as well. more showers possible on monday. and then we're looking to be cooler for tuesday and wednesday. we're talking maybe upper 60s in some hoe cations. overnight, expecting clear to partly cloudy conditions. open the windows, lows 52 to 62 degrees. winds are west at 5 to 10 miles per hour. sunday morning looks nice. partly cloudy and cool. grab a light sweater. especially if you are headed out for early errands.
