congress heights. they found an exit sign that would have pointed fleeing passengers in exactly the wrong direction at capital south and at medical center, the ground around the exit is sinking. >> we are working to improve safety. it will be a never ending job, we have to continue to pay attention to it. >> the commission complained repeatedly about the blocked exits. it complained in 2007 and again in 2010. metro promised the inspector's reports would be moved much more quickly up the chain of command. but now the commission says it turns out that promise has never been fully implemented. >> you are never going to get to everything. you will never have a perfect system. there will be risks. you need to get where you're going. if it was major safety violation, i guess you would reconsider. >> he just hired a fire

about the state of his finances. zimmerman returned to jail yesterday. today, pennsylvania supreme court denied jerry sandusky's request to delay the start of his trial. the court ruled the sex abuse trial against the former penn state assistant can begin with jury selection tomorrow. now memory could come into play for a key witness. that is former assistant coach, mike mcquery. he saw sandusky sexually assault a young boy in a locker room shower in march of 2002. prosecutors say the actual date is february 2001. >> the jury is going to be asking itself if mike mcqueryis making up a story, could these other witnesses be making up a story as well? >> sandusky is charged with abusing ten boys, he denies all the allegations. the department of justice says it plans to monitor tomorrow's recall election. governor scott walker and tom

the city of london is gearing up for the 2012 summer olympics. for a small number of residents, they much more important. with the shin kicking championships taking center stage. all that is required is courage and two feisty feet and i'm guessing a high pain threshold. the idea is to kick opponent shins until one competitor is brought down. the harder the kick the better. back at home, fairfax county police are searching for a serial animal slasher. in one month, two attacks on farm animals at the frying pan farm park. now as kristin fisher reports, the community is coming together to catch the person responsible. >> reporter: henry the human

meets henry the cow. >> did you pet the cow? >> yeah. >> reporter: the toddler is careful not to get too close, but it's the calf that has a real reason to be afraid of people. last week, someone cut henry across the head. they slashed two goats and a chicken. >> of course initially they were traumatized because what happened was horrible. they are on the mend. >> reporter: henry had to have eight stitches and eight staples put into his head. he is doing much better. you can see he's eating more. he seems less skiddish around humans and he is expected to make a fullrecovery. >> the attack happened one month to the day after horses were stabbed. >> at this point, other than the proximity, we don't have a will the of physical evidence we can talk about that would link them. however, logically, it makes sense that we'll be working both of them. >> fairfax county police had few leads, but now the community has come together to

the sun goes down. the air mass is dry. 70 in great falls. 69 in reston. 73 in college park and 70 also in beltsville. so, cool and unsettled. showers possible late tonight. some showers possible tomorrow. but i think it's going to be wetter on wednesday. and warmer on thursday. some storms are possible on thursday. we're not talking about anything heavy at this point. for tonight, partly to mostly cloudy. lows in the 50s and winds east, northeasterly at about 10. all right, next three days look like this. we're looking at green tomorrow, maybe a shower. we'll go yellow wednesday and thursday with showers possible. maybe some wet roads. and a few storms on thursday. next seven days, maybe a left over shower friday morning. then nice near 80 and heating up over the weekend. temperatures, mid 80s on saturday and flirting with 90 on sunday and monday of next week. so, we were hot memorial day. we were cool last weekend. we'll be hot again this weekend. >> it keeps going like this.
