surrendering power. brotherhood is filing lawsuits to overturn the army -- and weaken its authority. official election results from this weekend's presidential elections are expected for tomorrow and the candidate is projected to have defeated an ally of the former president. in other news, an emotional debate over the fate of pit bulls in the state of maryland. a task force is being asked to decide whether or not those dogs are inherently dangerous. a label that could force landlords to kick out hundreds, perhaps even thousands of pet owners because of liability. scott broom with more from annapolis. >> this is dominik at age 10. >> he was mauled. >> this is his family's lawyer showing pictures of a near fatal pit bull attack in 2007. >> a shark attack. dogs can bite. it makes it worse when you have a bad dog owner, but not all dogs will have the same damage. >> told maryland lawmakers

they should let an appeals court ruling declaring pit bulls dangerous stand. it's a ruling that sparked big protests. >> i'm afraid of being told to get rid of him or get out of my house. >> homeowners are liable. >> they have the ability to evict us based on what our dog looks like. >> i'm just thinking i hope we can buy the house before it comes to that. >> faced with new liability, some animal shelter workers report its much harder to find homes for pit bulls and more owners are giving up. >> what is or perhaps is not a pit bull. >> legislators trying to better protection dog attack victims and enforce responsible dog ownership without having to sort out which breeds of dogs are dangerous and which aren't. after his son was nearly killed, dominik's father is unhappy there's even a question

on this issue. >> we are here because of the dog owners. it's unfortunate that it didn't come from the other way. >> the family lawyer compared keeping a pit bull to keeping explosives in the house. he said the liability is the same. legislators are more likely to find a way to hold all dog owners more responsible. whatever the breed. in annapolis, scott broom, 9news now. >> that pit bull task force is scheduled to meet again next tuesday. the man hunt for a suspect connected to an ocean side murder in delaware is over now as 26-year-old coup mar seen here in this surveillance pictures is found dead today. a motel in belleville, new jersey. no word on what killed him. he was wanted for the murder of a woman inside the atlantic side hotel in dewey beach. >> the victim identified as danielle. she lived in pennsylvania, a suburb north of philly.

a cleaning woman found her. she was stabbed to death. coup kumar was a resident. >> a 21-year-old alexander told investigators that he did kill a family friend and ate his heart and part of his brain as well. he was indicted last week on attempted murder and other charges connected to an earlier attack at a baltimore university dorm. the evaluation will take place at the state mental hospital. turning now to virginia where three teenagers are facing charges connected to a daring and violent home invasion. the stafford county sheriff's office says the trio broke into a house and held a couple at knife point before the husband managed to turn the tables on those intruders. here is bruce leshan with the story. >> the husband tells me he knew he had to do something when these teenagers allegedly threatened to tie him and his wife up and burn down their house with them inside. i talked to the couple briefly.

the husband's arm is in a sling. the wife's face bruised and battered and they are just too shaken to talk on tv. >> all of a sudden, we hear screaming outside and the guy is at our front door and yelling help, help, help. >> a-year-old kayla is still shaken, too. >> these people are at our front door and they were bleeding. their faces were bleeding. the guy had his hand wrapped and he was bleeding. >> the victims ran two doors down to plead for help after escaping the three teens who allegedly broke into their home, beat them, held them at knife point, and ransacked their home for valuables at 2:00 in the morning. >> he was hit in the head, you know, punched, hit, there was a club involved. also a knife. >> the husband finally took a chance, grabbed a knife, and fought back. stabbing two of the teens. police picked up one of them minutes later in the neighborhood. they arrested the second after

his mom brought him to the hospital. the third, 18-year-old terri welch, finally turned himself in. >> the couple say that do not know what the teenagers were taking, but they know that they were high because as they were beating them, they kept saying, you're bringing me down. you're ruining my high. and then that crazy threat to tie them up and burn down their house. in stafford county, bruce leshan, 9news now. >> thank you for that, bruce. there appears to be a new twist in the race to pick up a d.c. council chairman. vincent orange told colleagues he will not be a candidate afterall. phil mendelson will be in the race and he picked up petitions yesterday to formally run for the seat. the councilman was selected to serve as chairman following the resignation of kwame brown last week. he'll be running for the permanent job in november. >> the man d.c. mayor gray nominated is leaving a similar

job in philly, but leaving it under a cloud. michael kelly resigned from office after staffers complained that he was having an improper affair with another staffer. bruce johnson says mayor gray, however, is sticking with his nominee. >> this is bruce johnson. when michael kelly resigned from his job on friday as head of the philadelphia housing authority, he said at the time he was leaving for personal reasons. turned out that staffers there had accused kelly of having a consensual sexual affair with a female staffer that he had appointed to a senior staff position and then approved her pay raises. >> he was a nationally respected professional. >> d.c. mayor says he nominated michael kelly to head the d.c. housing authority because of kelly's past work in the district. and hud investigation, which gray says says cleared kelly of any wrong doing. >> well, you know, the issue

that is in question here was investigated by hud. they indicated it was consensual relationship. michael had a successful career. >> kelly's nomination must be approved by the d.c. council. 9news now. >> we should note that michael kelly is 58 years old. no date yet has been set for his confirmation hearing. the 38-year-old woman in question left her job in philadelphia. turns out she was in this country on a work visa. >> top, if you like swimming pool weather, your time is upon us. >> it sure is. i mean, 88 today. it's not crazy hot. but that is what is around the corner. let's start with a heat advisory. everyone is under a heat advisory in the metro area from noon to 8:00 tomorrow. not sure if we'll meet the criteria of that. you have to have a heat index of 105 to 109. probably won't quite make that, but it's been cool, i think better safe than sorry so people are cautious.

google is revealing it removed hundreds of terrorist videos from youtube. the move comes after a riest from british law enforcement. is taking down those videos an effective way? suzanne kelly went looking for answers. >> from the new head of al- qaeda, to terror propaganda, using the spent to internet to spread the message. the request of law enforcement officials in the uk. there's a myriad of propaganda and do it yourself terror tricks posted in the form of videos.

the problem with taking the material off the internet is that it has a way of popping right back up again. >> in a sense, a wac a mole type of thing where especially activists in the west, they essentially create 20 or 30 youtube accounts and they primarily use one and if somebody flags it or is taken down, they go to the next one. so it is this cat and mouse game that you're playing. >> google, which is a parent company to youtube has a policy to dealing with terrorists online. prohibit dangerous or illegal activities such as hate speech and incitement to commit violent acts. with hundreds of terrorist videos, one of the biggest challenges is getting a grasp on all this material. a built in flag that monitors material as being inappropriate and warns a google moderator to take a closer look. the flags are taken seriously and they are constantly monitored. again in a statement, google

said, our review teams respond to flag videos. routinely removing them. but some experts say there can be hidden benefits to keeping some of this material online. >> one of the values of these videos is we can understand what our enemies are thinking about and what these folks are thinking about. >> the government, according to google, made $1,759 requests for content to be removed between july and december of last year. of those requests, only one removal was in the name of national security. suzanne kelly, cnn, washington. >> and because we are bringing up, some folks want to look at those videos. >> ron sworn in today to take over the seat vacated by gabrielle give ford. a former staffer of giffords who was shot and wounded at that campaign appearance in tucson last year. serve out the remaining six months. he won a special election last

st d.c. department of public works is bracing for hotter temperatures this week. beginning tomorrow, workers begin hitting the streets an hour earlier at 6:00 a.m. residents put their trash out and recyclables for trash. the new hours will be in effect for the rest of this week. i can only imagine as the summer goes on, we'll see it again. >> probably. and this is just the beginning of the hot times. >> it is timing itself perfectly for the beginning of summer. you have to give it credit there. the good news is, only going to be hot for two days. that's not quite a heat wave, but we aren't used to it. we were in the 60s 70s

yesterday, 80s tomorrow, and 90s tomorrow. let's start with a live look outside. you're looking north toward bethesda. down wisconsin avenue. and again, high was 88. temperatures still 87 downtown. dew point 71. that is not a good thing. we do not want dew points in the 70s. winds out of the south at about 9 and the pressures are steady at 30.08 inches of mercury. temperatures primarily in the 80s. 85 bethesda. we'll throw that temperature out at rockville. it is 94 in rockville. 88 in gaithersburg. 81 in reston. upper 80s in leesburg and sterling and near 90 in college park and in beltsville. okay, so here's the deal. we have midweek heat coming. getting a bit muggy tonight. hot tomorrow. and we're looking at unhealthy air quality, code orange tomorrow, and see that again on thursday. and record high possible on thursday. in fact, thursday will be hotter than thursday and the

record high is 98 as opposed to 99. a better chance of tieing that on thursday. check out the mountain thunderstorms, there is nothing on radar right now. 66 to 74. winds southwest at 10. by morning, mostly sunny and warm. 70s and 80s and probably to 90 in some spots by lunchtime. winds out of the west at 0. there's your unhealthy air quality. by afternoon, mostly sunny and hot. a few thunderstorms possible. highs around 95 and winds out of the southwest at about 10. so we're looking at highs 95 downtown. maybe 96 at andrews. 96 in fredericksburg. maybe over done a little bit, but you get the picture of mid to upper 90s in leesburg. so here's the deal. the heat is on. keep your shades closed. draw your shades before you leave tomorrow. especially the west side of the house. exercise in the morning or

in the mail bag tonight, michelle with yet one more response to the president's decision last week to put the temporary bosh on children that were brought to the country. the president's heart is in the right place, but sometimes the heart no so good with predicting consequences. i sympathize with the plight of illegal immigrant minors victimized by their parents.

but this type of work amnesty will exacerbate tensions with legal immigrants who will be competing for the same jobs with lower wages. this will insight a race to the bottom which will benefit no one. neither the u.s. taxpayer nor the immigrant population. and then there was this on that lady who was banned from a southwest airlines flight because somebody thought she was showing too much cleavage. joann says that lady had more than one fashion that day. i think the lady at the airport wanted to get noticed. that's why she was dressed that way. i mean, come on. nice black dress, scarf, flannel shirt, and a rope. you know, i don't know what's so shocking about what that lady was wearing. southwest apologized for what happened, but let us take a look at her. here she is. yeah okay, that's low cut there, but let's be real. joann may not be big in her fashion sense. our e-mail address is always
