it's the 9 fght the month. don't forget to call your buddy to do a sferl breast -- self- breast exam. if detected what is your chance of a recurrence of the disease? will you need chemo? there's a test to answer that. our buddy jc hayward had it at the time of her surgery. >> is this me? >> that's you. >> reporter: in march jc was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma. in april she had a lumpectomy

12:11 pm
worrying about this, that and the other? >> i was concerned. chemotherapy is a lot stronger than radiation, but the radiation they say you lose energy. i didn't because i canceled all of my appointments. i went to bed early. some days i was in bed at 5:30, 6:00. i woke up energized every day. it didn't bother me as it did some other women. >> what follows now? what will you do? >> now i'll take that super breast cancer drug. tamoxifen is for women who are premenopausal. because i'm post menopausal -- i take one pill a day for five years and i get a mammogram every six months for the first year or two. and then we'll see how things go. but i'm feeling great. >> we see you're looking great, too. >> thank you so much for your buddiness. >> you're welcome. always keep you as my buddy. whether we come back, howard is going to have the
