beltway at richie marlboro road after central avenue, that accident i've been telling you about from overnight has been cleared. all lanes are open. no worries right now if you're heading southbound on the beltway past central avenue into oxon hill and over to the wilson bridge. we'll take a live look at the beltway. if you're planning to head over here on the beltway at colesville road, there was an accident, fatal unfortunately on the outer loop or inner loop at colesville road. that was cleared as well. so you're good to go essentially all around the beltway in montgomery and prince george's county. let's go back over to the maps this time to the west side of town. there had been all this construction in tysons and annandale, 66, the dulles toll road. i believe that all should be cleared up now with maybe some residual delays but other than that, lanes are open. a live look at 66. looking good inbound at route 123. coming up in my next report, we'll go to 95 in virginia at 5:09. >> thanks, monika. just about 5:02. calls for mayor vincent gray to resign are starting to crop up. three members of the d.c.

council are among those asking for him to step down. >> the mayor tried to defend himself yesterday during a press briefing saying his administration is not corrupt. 9news now reporter delia goncalves is following this story live at the wilson building trying to make a distinction between the campaign and his administration. are people buying it? >> reporter: it's an interesting angle but i don't know if folks are buying it, especially when we tell but this major break in the case that we've learned of this morning. it appears that mayor gray may actually have known about the shadow campaign. "the washington post" reporting this morning that mayor gray held a meeting inside his private office in the wilson building back in january about this veg and about this money in the shadow campaign. so that raises a whole slew of questions as to whether or not he's being truthful when he says he didn't know anything about this. now council members say came --

now council members cantania, cheh and bowser are calling him for him to resign. $650,000 was secretly funneled toward his election bid. he did say it was not the campaign he intended to run. long-time friend gene harris faces up to two years behind bars for her part in the plot though she tells the court d.c. businessman jeff thompson and her former boss wrote the check. here's what the mayor had to say to defend himself when asked about the growing scandal at a news conference yesterday. >> this is not the campaign that we intended to run, tom. i have said to many, many people that i got into this for the right reasons. i probably could have stayed on as council chair or done nothing further. and i got out there to be involved in this because i love the district of columbia.

political leaders wants a review of the storm response. homeland security agencies both state and local and emergency management leaders will do the study. a top prosecutor is weighing in on the controversial court ruling concerning pit bulls. the court classified the breed as inherently dangerous. that means pit bull owners could be held liable for bites even if their dog had no prior problems. but assistant attorney general katherine rose says that ruling is not yet in effect. opponents of the ruling have asked maryland's highest court to take another look and she says law enforcement is also waiting for the court's response. angry d.c. parents are protesting a school system plan to cut librarians. they demonstrated yesterday outside the wilson building. dcps is eliminating buy barians at -- librarians at schools with less than 300 students in them. the capitol hill public schools parents organization handed out baked treats with hopes of raising awareness about this

i can't even start. it's pretty bad. so it's obviously bad. this weighs a ton. they get heavy, inconvenient but did you also know you're putting yourself in jeopardy with all the stuff in the wallet? you've got the receipts, the bank slips, the scraps of personal information. so we're going to purge. kiplinger's magazine gives us five things we should immediately remove from our wallet to minimize the risk should your wallet ever be stolen. number one, big one here. your social security card. hands down i.d. theft experts say that little card with the nine digits on it is absolutely the worst item to carry around. it has everything thieves need to open up new credit card accounts or loans in your name. retirees, you need to remember your medicare cards, have your social security numbers on them, too. keep that in mind. number two, blank checks are the obvious risk but even a filled out check can lead to financial loss. they get access to routing

that is on the inner loop of the beltway after braddock road, that accident has been cleared on the beltway in annandale so you should be good to go if you're leaving springfield heading over to the northbound side of 495 past braddock road and little river turnpike. let's take a live look at 66 inbound. you've got your normal slow stuff leaving manassas as you head over to centreville. again here's the beltway near the robinson terminal heading up toward annandale. you should be okay. now let's talk about the accident down in southern maryland in the accokeek area. it is on the southbound side of route 210 after berry road. so just before the charles county line. i'm stepping out to show what you it looks like from our sky 9. they just arrived here. it just looks horrendous on the southbound side. at one point northbound was blocked as well. you can see that's been reopened so for your rush hour traffic, you should be okay heading into accokeek and beyond toward the beltway. again southbound route 210 near berry road. a terrible accident. that investigation and cleanup will take a while. i'll keep you posted on that.

you can also take livingston road by the way as your alternate route here. i'll be back with more traffic coming up once again at 6:00. making news now at 5:51, this morning former f.b.i. director louie freeh will release his report on the jerry sandusky sexual abuse scandal. he investigated how penn state and former head football coach joe paterno handled the molestation accusations against his former assistant. last month a jury convicted sandusky of sexually abusing ten boys. it seems concuptions are increasing in college football, according to a -- concussions are increasing in college football according to a new study. they found the rate of concussions at three football programs doubled it the 2009 season and last year. the ncaa imposed stricter concussion guidelines starting in 2010. christian chenoweth was taken to the hospital after an accident on the set of the cbs drama "the good wife." the studio says a wind gust toppled a piece of lighting equipment which fell and hit the 43-year-old in the head,

knocked her out cold. entertainment website tmz cites new york fire department sources saying chenoweth suffered minor injury. we're starting to get more information about why illinois congressman jesse jackson, jr. hasn't been in washington since late may. >> after quietly announcing that the congressman was on medical leave last month, now jackson's office has issue add statement saying -- issued a statement saying he is in treatment for a mood disorder. >> reporter: representative jesse jackson, jr. has been out on a leave of absence no more than a month now with little explanation as to why. more than two weeks after abruptly leaving, his office issued a cryptic statement saying mr. jackson was suffering from exhaustion. a week later they issued another release saying jackson's condition was more serious than originally thought and that he was receiving extended inpatient treatment. >> i think you've heard enough that he has some health challenges. >> reporter: but not everybody was satisfied with those

explanations. >> i think the family would be well advised to give his constituents as much information as is appropriate. >> as a public official, there reaches a point where you have a responsibility to tell the people what you're facing and how things are going. >> reporter: with pressure mounting from many of his colleagues here on capitol hill, congressman jackson's office issued a third statement on wednesday. this one was from an unnamed doctor. it read, the congressman is receiving intensive medical treatment at a residence -- residential treatment center for a mood disorder. he's responding positively to treatment and is expected to make a full recovery. minority leader nancy pelosi says the congressman will be welcomed back when the time is right. >> i hope that we will hear soon that he's on the way to recovery. he's a valued member of congress. >> reporter: congressman jackson's family is calling on the public to respect his privacy so he can get well.

it's a dilemma many people face when going through a loved one's things. is this trash or treasure? >> a lucky family in ohio find out just how much an old dusty baseball collection is worth. they may be able to trade mayor bleacher seats -- trade their bleacher seats for a luxury box. >> reporter: something remarkable happened to carl in this attic. he and his family inherited this turn of the century house in iowa passed down by his aunt after her recent passing. >> the first thing i told the family when i had the family meeting was how many times have you been asked what would you do if you found something of great value and nobody knew about it. >> reporter: what he found were these unassuming little baseball cards. about 700 in all. they had been tied in a neat bundle and put in a cardboard box sitting untouched for 100

years. kissner did not know exactly what he had but the sports collectible experts at heritage auctions in texas did. >> we believe this is the most significant find in the history of the hobby. when they sent in the package and we initially opened it up, our republican was oh, my god, you know, these are the nicest condition examples of this series that we've ever seen. >> reporter: these cards were given away as a candy promotion around 1910 and they include such baseball luminaries as thai cobb, cy young and christy matthew son. kissner assumes his immigrant grandfather did not know what to do with them so he put them in the attic and forget about them. today's value? about $3 million. cards like these are graded on a psa scale of one to ten. >> the biggest surprise? when chris ivy called me and said one of the cards graded at a ps a-10. i went great, which one?
