everyone up. >> and according to this affidavit, prescott also said -- supervisor's brain splatter all over the sidewalk. after the massacre in aurora one week ago. police took -- the individual was wearing an individual that said guns don't kill people, i do. >> when police searched prescott's apartment early this morning, they found an arsenal of 25 weapons. including semi-automatic rifles, semi-automatic pistols and at least one shotgun. like the alleged killer in aurora, prescott had an ar15. investigators also uncovered thousands of rounds of ammunition. >> we had no specific timetable, but we took it as it was going to be imminent based on the conversation with the employees. we acted on that threat. >> sources tell 9news that prescott has a maryland state police issued gun collector's

batman movie. the suspect in the case, 24- year-old james holmes, is due in court monday to be formally charged. guards at the detention center where he is being held say holmes claims he has no memory of the attack and doesn't understand why he is behind bars. >> the 9 weather team is issuing a code yellow alert because of the risk of storms tonight. anny is in the weather center with the outlook. >> lesli, we look like we can see some severe storms south of town. here around the district and beltway, i see a couple showers moving through. i don't expect those to be severe. a severe thunderstorm watch has been issued until 10:00 tonight. culpeper and fredericksburg. we see some showers out to the west and south of us. these are not severe. thunderstorm just south of fredericksburg, that is heading due east, and storms that do come through had the potential to be strong to severe. the damaging wind gusts are our main concern. we see showers.

session, all to resolve the issue of expanded gambling. it will happen on august 9, and scott broom is in annapolis tonight where the focus is on the relentless push to put a vegas style casino on the banks. >> at stake for prince georges county, as many as 2,000 permanent jobs and as much as $69 million a year in revenue to help solve the county's unending budget crisis. >> i feel good about the construction of what is coming out there. i feel confident that the citizens of prince georges county will vote overwelmingly for six cycles because they understand. >> baker was gambling. who sought the entire state budget held hostage by the gambling debate in april, forcing a crisis special session in may. he vowed never again. >> when we adjourned, that was kind of a low point in my

service here, and i want to put those states behind us. i want to resolve this issue so we can move forward. the issues around us aren't terribly new. >> the decision to hold a second special session in 2012 is a signal of political agreement on a complex deal. to allow a casino site to be located in prince georges county. the state's sixth. to expand gambling statewide, to include vegas style table games, all with a complicated tax formula. maryland live at arundel mills don't get burned financially. the fact we prepare to put something on the ballot. the issue is the citizens of the state of maryland. >> in 2007, maryland voters overwelmingly approve slot machine gambling in the state and prince georges county voters were on board. the supporters of this expansion of gambling are counting on a similar outcome. if that happens in november,

we're back now with a commuter alert. buses will replace trains on parts of the blue and red lines this weekend. two stations will be closed. medical center and bethesda. free shuttle buses will take passengers between the friendship heights and the grovener stations. on the blue line, buses will replace trains between van dorin street they had to leave their homes after a tanker truck flipped over along solomon's island road. that tanker was carrying 9,000 gallons of propane. fortunately, nothing leaked. crews were able to tow that truck away safely after just a few hours.

>> a memorial was dedicated today to the 29 miners killed at west virginia's upper big branch mine. organizers said what happened back on april 5, 2010, will not be forgotten, especially now that it is written out in blocks of granite. the memorial is in whitesville on land where a gazebo. >> traffic can be bad enough in a big city like london. without the olympics coming to town. how taxi drivers are fighting some of the restrictions coming up. >> a new report shows that economic growth has slowed to a crawl. could the u.s. be sliding back into a recession? we'll look at that tonight on the cbs evening news. ♪

i love it. it's so catchy and so fun. >> that was fun. good stuff. okay, we're talking about the potential for big storms. not in the beltway. south of town, but if you are going to go out for dinner, it's friday night. bring the umbrella. we could see some showers. so, the storms we're talking about could bring some damaging wind gusts, especially south of town. that is where we have a severe thunderstorm watch in effect for this evening until 10:00. this includes fredericksburg and into parts of culpeper. actually, trimmed that severe thunderstorm watch now. it is south of fredericksburg. so even better news for folks who are closer into our immediate viewing area. here's a lock at the live doppler 9,000hd. we see some showers out to the west and south of us. this is really light stuff. no severe warnings right now. radar lightning, you can see the big stuff is really well south. you can see some showers could be approaching the district and here into the beltway. not all this hitting the

ground. you can see out to leesburg and fredericksburg, we are seeing showers come through. i think showers are going to be fairly light in nature. further south, those storms that do bubble up could be strong to severe. now we are under a slight risk for severe storms. that includes the district and also basically areas south and east of town for tonight. main threat being damaging wind gusts. so, just be careful. our michael and son weather camera. 93 degrees dew points in the 60s. winds are north, northwest. outside of the beltway, already in the 80s. 84 in gaithersburg. fredericksburg, you are still in the low 90s. still muggy with more storms. thunderstorms likely tonight. especially south of town. damaging wind gusts is what we have to watch out for. saturday, afternoon storms are possible as well as into the evening. sunday is just a stray storm possible. here's a look at your future cast. most of the activity south of

welcome back, everybody. the redskins, they got a little bit of a problem here. i guess it's a good problem. two guys at one position, one of the most important positions. fred davis coming off of his best season as a pro. 59 catches, three touchdowns. chris cooley has been to the pro bowl. he is coming off injuries. how does he plan to get both of them on the field and maximize their value and do they really plan to do that? most people feel davis will get the share, but cooley isn't ready to give it up that easy. i sat down with c squared earlier today. here's what he had to say about that. >> i'm here to catch you. 60, 70, making an impact for this team. at the same time, they do what they ask me to do, i'm going to do everything i can do to make this team great. >> we have great players at the position. and logan, all of us are solid at this position. probably the most solid position i feel right now. so i think we'll do a lot of
