[laughter] craig: well, you are now doing morgan freeman berating the discmfort of the audience while i talk about my bag? geoff: the audience started to think that craig looked like an older han solo. [laughter] craig: that got a lot of laughs backstage. did you hear that? [laughter] well, i don't know.

this is 9news now. >> he's accused of making terroristic threats and sending one coworker into panic. tonight, a 28-year-old man is in hot water after police say he talked about shooting the people he worked with. >> ken is live in prince georges county where that man worked and ken has the details. ken. >> reporter: yeah, we're talking about neil prescott.

he worked here at bose in capital heights and we are also told that according to this affidavit, he told one of his coworkers that he wanted to quote, blow everybody up. this is 28-year-old neil prescott. he was on the phone with a coworker on wednesday when he made the threats. he referenced the colorado massacre when according to this affidavit, he said i am a joker. i'm going to load my guns and blow everybody up. the coworker relayed the conversation to police. >> we took it as it was going to be imminent based on the conversation with the employees and we acted on that threat. >> police went looking for prescott at his apartment on the 1600 block of park ridge circle. according to arresting documents, investigators came knocking on suspect's door. they described him as being groggy and wearing a t-shirt

that read, guns don't kill people, i do. officers found 25 firearms, including rifles and pistols and more than a thousand rounds of ammunition. >> i was shocked because most of the neighbors are very friendly people. everybody is courteous. >> neighbors that live near there was stunned. >> it was shocking to hear and it was twofold. >> those who know the suspect describe him as a loaner and very computer savvy. >> seven days in the week. >> this convenience store clerk says he sees prescott in and out of the store he works at. very rarely is there any conversation between the two. >> he didn't talk too much. he was quiet. he never talked. >> we are told the 28-year-old is being evaluated by psychologists tonight, he has not been charged with anything. police say they are reviewing

both state and federal charges. we're live in prince georges county, 9news now. >> we're glad he's off the streets, thank you, ken. >> on monday, prosecutors plan to bring formal charges against the suspect in the colorado movie theater shooting and we've learned james holmes was under psychiatric care before last week's massacre. providing that care, dr. lynn fen ton. she's a medical director of student mental health services at the university of colorado where holmes had been a grad student. >> the faculty and program leadership meet on a regular basis to discuss how the students are doing. the stars and the did i have cull students. >> on monday, a bomb squad robot retrieved a package from the school's mail room. it was from holmes addressed to dr. fen ton. sources tell cbs news, the package contained a letter and drawing of a man with a gun and shooting victims. new information tonight about jesse jackson, jr., the

mayo clinic says he is being treated in rochester, minnesota. this is the first information about the congressman's condition and where about since he disappeared on medical leave several weeks ago. jackson is also said to be undergoing treatment for gastrointestinal issues. >> another steamer of a day out there today, but most of us stay dry this time around. anny hong is out on the weather terrace. we are hoping that tomorrow morning looks good. >> well, it looks like we can see dry conditions to start out for your saturday morning, derek, and then afternoon we could see a couple areas of scattered showers and thunderstorms. the good news is, we're not under a risk for severe weather. live doppler 9,000hd, we saw showers and storms go south of us, but we didn't see anything go severe. you can see more broad radar, most of the storms are well south of us into richmond. those are on the coast. we're looking at a quiet night. seas are going to be muggy through tonight and through tomorrow.

here's your saturday wakeup weather. temperatures are going to be in the 60s and 70s by early tomorrow morning by 6:00 a.m. it will feel mild. by 10:00, it will be around 80 to 85 degrees. i'll let you know what the storm chances for sunday as well when i come back. derek, back to you. >> if you were driving home wisconsin avenue this evening, you may have seen members of the d.c. arts and music community picketing the russian embassy. they are upset because three women in a russian punk band have been detained. we sent our own gary nure nberg and now he is back. >> there were armed police officers there today, telling demonstrators where they could and couldn't be and what they could and couldn't do. and yes, the government revoked the permit that would have allowed d.c. punk bands to perform in a little park across the street. but as far as we know, no one got arrested and thrown in jail for demonstrating. which is exactly what happened to those punk rockers in

moscow. ♪ [ music ] it's this performance at moscow's cathedral where members of the punk band called on the virgin mary to drive russian president, vladimir putin away. the band unhappy with the friendly relationship between putin and church leaders. three got arrested after the february performance and are still behind bars. nadia is one of two mothers still in custody. her daughter being told putin is responsible. she is facing seven years in prison. demanding their release, supporters of the band picketed the russian embassy. something you get to do in america. >> we have the freedom to express ourselves, to play music in the street. to play music in venues. that's why we are here. >> to draw attention to the

issue, hoping to build pressure on putin to back off. >> people like him will never win. in the end, the human spirit will overcome. >> protesters have been detained for demonstrating on onbehalf of the women. and parliament enacted new laws aimed at preventing demonstrations. and in moscow earlier this month, prosecutors said they need more time to prepare their case against the band members, so they asked for an extension, which means the women could be held for ten months before the formal court proceedings against them. derek. >> thank you, gary. you will not see the mayor of d.c. eating at chick-fil-a. he is calling the company, and quote, hate chicken. he triggered an angry response when he stated his opposition to gay marriage. mayor vince gray said he would not support hate chicken.

chick-fil-a has one outlet in washington, d.c. police in maryland say a tip line has generated several calls about the kidnapping of cal ripken's mom, but so far, nobody has been arrested. the fbi is helping out with the case now. investigators have been circulating a picture of the suspect. they say he grabbed violet ripken from her garage this past tuesday, tied her up, threw her in the back of a car and drove around maryland for 24 hours before he let her go unharmed. the 2012 london olympics are officially underway tonight. festivities began a few hours ago with an awe inspiring opening ceremony. highlight a short film featuring james bond, and her majesty queen elizabeth ii. first lady, michelle obama led the u.s. olympic delegation. >> on to campaign 2012 news. president obama and mitt romney are trying to sway jewish voters. mr. obama signed a new law that expands military and civilian cooperation with israel. mitt romney will be in israel tomorrow where he'll meet with

prime minister, benjamin netanyahu. the governor of maryland called for a special legislative session. it gets going august 9. lawmakers will consider whether or not to allow another casino to be built. this at the national harbor in prince georges county and whether to allow table games like blackjack at all maryland casinos. >> people are going to work together, hopefully we can get this done in a matter of days. the real reason for a special session late in august is the fact we have to prepare to put something on the ballot. the ultimate decider is the citizens of the state of maryland. >> indeed, anything approved by the lawmakers would have to go before the maryland voters in november. dozens of world war ii veterans from wisconsin are in the district tonight. they have come to visit the national world war ii memorial for the very first and maybe only time. the veterans landed at reagan national airport earlier this afternoon on an american airlines flight called flag

somebody once said washington is hollywood for ugly people. well, whoever said that had not read the latest issue of the hill newspaper, where they have the 50 most beautiful people on capitol hill. >> that's right, editor is chief in joining us. these are fantastic pictures of fantastic looking people. >> yeah, they are great looking people. as you say, washington being for ugly people is not true. it's a long process, it takes two months. people are nominated. mostly not by themselves, occasionally people nominate themselves and there's probably about one in four we decide to photograph. there are about 400 who get nominated. we photograph about 100. from that 100, we lay out the photographers and all the reporters and editors and

presidential hopeful, michele bachmann. she's in the mix as well. >> absolutely. a will the of people will have seen her in her presidential run. she, like every other presidential candidate is going to turn to a stylist. she looked terrific on the campaign trail earlier this year and last year. and she was nominated and you know, she got the votes. so she made it. >> let's get to number two, which is my favorite one. the capitol hill kardashian. i won't say her name because it's hard to pronounce. >> it's hard to pronounce, but she was an easy choice. yeah. this is a girl with an uranian father and a mother from pennsylvania. she is teased by her parents about being a kardashian look-a- like. she came in number two. >> many of these folks are young people. they are gorgeous, you also have representative, bobby scott, democrat of virginia at

but the other is buying a new swim suit. yeah, because inevitably, it leads to the dressing room moment when the harsh, unforgiving lights reveal all too clearly that while this might be how we see ourselves, this is closer to what the world is looking at. yeah. it is just reality. and for years, i have been grateful that stylish men swim suits were long and baggy. if anybody dared to step to the pool, you could chuckle. skinny dude, he has no style, you might say. but fellas, the tables have been turned. the "new york times" says these shorter, tighter sea creatures are the new hot look. apparently daniel craig, aka, james bond had something to do with this. sales are way up. so pretty soon, our old fatefuls will be the mark of the old guy. about like these skirts you used to snicker at. like i said, the tables, they

have been turned. but you know what? i am not going out like that. gentleman, daniel craig can do whatever he wants to do, hang out with the queen of england, whatever. i am seriously going old school. in fact, you might call it bringing sexy back. yeah. you might call it that, but you probably won't. anita. >> can we see mr. bond again? just one more time. >> i think you could pull off that look. you are very athletic. so you could pull it off. >> there he is, so dreamy. >> wow, okay, moving on to the weather. >> all right, so swim suit weather this weekend, well potentially. still hot and humid. i'm not talking any crazy storms and the severe threat, it's not there. that's the good news. all right, here's a look at our michael and son weather camera. a beautiful shot of the nation's capital there and temperatures are around 86

degrees. mostly cloudy conditions, dew points are in the upper 60s and lower 70s right now. so temperatures are still pretty sticky. right now outside the beltway, 70s already. 75 in manassas. 77 in leesburg. dew points are in the 60s and 70s. still very sticky, humid weather out there. it will be humid for the next couple of days at least. all right, so saturday morning it's going to be dry. go out and get that run in. by the afternoon, we could see some scattered thunderstorms. not everybody will see them. we'll be hot and humid and sunday, only a stray thunderstorm possible. thunderstorm chances on sunday are lower compared to saturday. check out your future cast. tomorrow morning will be dry, a few clouds out there. still humid. and for the afternoon and evening, popup thunderstorms. now i can't rule out completely one or two of those storms just because we do see, you know, some sunny conditions, the atmosphere could be unstable.

finger. now this is good for a wide receiver because you can catch things. those large mitts struggled with dogs hand with. he has been cleared to practice, but not fully healthy yet. last year, he struggled learning the play book. this year, a lot expected of him and he is expecting a will lot of himself. >> i know what the coaches expect. i know what i need to do. i have more confidence in the play book. i know it a whole lot more. i know i can go out there and be confident in what i do and have fun. >> all right, trent williams and davis are two guys who are one bad decision for being expelled. after violating the lead's substance abuse policy. another violation, they gone. have they changed their habits? hope so. >> it's stressful. this is something i'm not going
