5:03 am
keep in mind there's been a lot of concern that a new is a seen foe at national harbor would take away too much business from the other casinos in the state, both the one that's already here and the planned one in baltimore. so lawmakers are trying to offset the potential economic impact that this future casino could some day have. in the end the committee voted to approve those tax breaks sending the bill to the full house this afternoon. what this means for the rest of today is that the house is scheduled to convene at 2:00 p.m. but keep in mind if approved, this bill still has to be approved by the senate. then it has to be signed by the governor. and then it has to go before voters in november. so we're still a ways away from getting a new casino here at national harbor. at the very least, maybe by the end of today we could see lawmakers reaching their decision up in annapolis. mike, andrea? >> kristin fisher reporting
