>> but first let's get to the latest from meteorologist topper shutt who has been tracking sandy in the weather center. how scared should we be? >> it's kind of a little unnerving she's indicating 2 now, but remember, what she does -- she's a category 2 now, but remember, what she does in the bahamas doesn't really affect us. it's what she does after that. right now she's about 125 miles east, southeast of nassau, winds 105 miles per hour. she's moving very quickly northerly at 20 miles per hour. hurricane warnings throughout the bahamas, tropical storm warnings extended essentially for the entire coast of florida, the east coast of florida. you can see as she pounded cuba, she's now pushing north and north at a pretty good clip. again winds 105 miles per hour, remember, those are sustained winds. all right. look at the expanse now of the tropical storm warnings, essentially the entire florida coast, some watches posted for parts of coast of georgia and a little bit of south carolina. here's the track, category 2 , gusts 125 miles per hour and
5:01 pm
this is a brand-new advisory at 5:00. she turns a little to the northeast, still as a category 1 and she's still taking the same track. this really hasn't changed. she'll parallel the southeast coast. so for the most part south and north carolina, you're okay, some high surf, but pure okay. by sunday she starts -- you're okay. by sunday she starts to turn a little bit and she really starts to turn into new jersey tuesday and that would give us problems as we get into tuesday night and perhaps halloween. first things first, danielle nottingham is live in canoga beach in florida. are people okay or are they freaking out down there? >> reporter: right now we're experiencing a lot of high winds and quick bursts of heavy rain. there are people on the beach right now. they're curious about seeing these waves. they say this isn't something they see very often and lifeguards are flying the red

flag which means the water is not safe for swimmers, not even surfers as the coast braces for tropical storm force winds. the outer bands of hurricane sandy are hitting florida's atlantic coast with powerful waves. gusty winds and heavy rain. streets are flooded near miami and officials are warning surfers to stay out of the water in ft. lauderdale. >> you just get tossed around out there, really severe rip currents. >> reporter: up the coast in melbourne beach residents are preparing for tropical storm force winds and flooding as the offshore hurricane moves north thursday night and friday. >> as we're speaking, i'm filling sandbags. >> reporter: forecasters are calling sandy a frankenstorm because it's threatening to become a monster hybrid storm that could pound the east coast right before halloween. sandy should travel up the coast over the weekend possibly
5:03 pm
collide with rain from the west and cold air from the north. >> we could be looking at a nor'easter/hurricane situation with heavy snow, storm force winds and potentially a lot of power outages. coastal flooding could be widespread as well. >> reporter: the storm is expected to come ashore between maryland and long island, new york, dumping rain for days. a government forecaster predicts it will make landfall somewhere in new jersey tuesday morning. sandy could affect millions of people on the east coast and cause about $1 billion in damages. even though this area isn't expected to take a direct hit from sand, school officials let -- sandy, school officials let school out early today and several schools will be closed tomorrow. live in indian harbor beach,
5:04 pm
danielle nottingham. topper, back to you. >> we're tracking sandy's movement very closely because it could have an impact on our weather next week. meteorologist eric grow joins me now with more on this storm's similarity to the famous storm that happened more than 20 years ago. the perfect storm. what are the similarities? >> our computer forecast models have projected this storm will move westward once it gets near the northeastern u.s. there's one similarity. how will sandy impact us in the d.c. metro area? it's a very rare movement for a drop system called retrograde and -- a tropical system called retrograde and it looks familiar to new englanders who survived the perfect storm of 1991. the storm was so destructive and unusual a book was written about it followed by the release of the movie starring george clooney. the perfect storm happened right around halloween in 1991, the result of hurricane grace getting swept into a large nor'easter type severe thunderstorm causing it to gain size and wind speed as it
5:05 pm
slowly moved westward toward new england. 75-mile an hour wind and waves as high as 40 feet were reported along the new england shores. today as hurricane sandy moves north, our forecast models are predicting a cold front will advance towards the east coast at the same time. sandy is forecast to rotate inland becoming part of a mega cyclone that will bring heavy rain and high winds. the current forecast predicts the hardest hit areas will be to our north and strong winds and heavy rain are the biggest threat to the d.c. metro area. luckily if the forecast stays on its current path, we won't have to deal with the storm surge on the oceanside beaches and western shores of the chesapeake bay. >> come up at 6:00 we asked our facebook fans -- coming up at 6:00 we asked our facebook fans for their questions about this storm as it continues to make its path. we still don't know, right? >> not in stone. >> exactly where it's going to head, but we wanted you to voice your opinion and ask your questions of the at 6:00 we'll answer -- questions. at 6:00 we'll answer some of
5:06 pm
those questions for you. >> for our beaches it's not going to be that bad because of the way it's tracking and also in terms of the time frame for us even though the track is not in stone, we know the time frame is next week, probably tuesday, maybe halloween. so keep that in mind. >> this is not a weekend storm for us. >> not at all. we'll be tracking it all weekend. well, the washington area's most famous swim coach, a man who coached olympians, turned himself into montgomery county police today on a child sex abuse charge. rick curl faces up to 50 years in prison if convicted of the allegation which goes back decades. bruce leshan is live with the story. >> reporter: curl bailed out of the detention center about 2:30, but it took a while because the commissioner told him he could not go back to his vienna home because apparently there are children there.
5:07 pm
curl is accused of abusing one of his swimmers for years starting when she was barely a teen. mr. curl, are you sorry for what you did? >> reporter: rick curl declined comment after posting a $50,000 bond, but the woman who is accusing him of years of child sex abuse refuses to remain silent any longer. >> it doesn't matter. no one here found out. an hour after you commit this crime or if it's 20 years. >> reporter: kelly curran came forward about 30 years after rick curl allegedly abused her starting when she was just 13. montgomery county police say curl started with fondling her and forcing her to fondle him at the pool, at his home, even at her parents' house. by 15 it allegedly progressed to sexual intercourse and continued until she was 18. how much of a difference does it make this happened 30 years ago to you? >> it doesn't matter. we'll investigate any crime when it's brought to our
5:08 pm
attention. >> reporter: curran agreed to keep quiet after a civil settlement in the 1980s in which curl admitted abuse, but when she saw curl still coaching this year, as a mom, a coach and a teacher, she said she had to come forward fearful curl might be abuse other young swimmers. >> having my own daughter, she's almost 13. >> reporter: but curran alleges a coverup with usa swimming with echos of the coverup at penn state with jerry sandusky. her lawyer says leads of usa swimming have known since the late 1980s that curl was having sex with his swimmers. >> other coaches are now being looked into as far as their behavior and that -- it's not about me. it's about the big picture. >> reporter: now usa swimming last month banned curl for life and it says it is policing its
5:09 pm
coaches much better now. montgomery county police say if there are any other victims out there, they want them to come forward and in fairfax county police are keeping an eye on this as well because curl actually lives in fairfax county and if there is any nexus, any other acts that might have been committed in virginia, fairfax county police want to know about those. d.c. police are on the lookout for a killer last seen in a toy camry with pennsylvania -- in a toyota camry with pennsylvania tags. a shooting happened in the 3600 block of benning road northeast. a shocking revelation from convicted d.c. sniper lee boyd malvo who says he was sexually abused by his adult accomplice in the deadly rampage. john allen muhammad. >>nd then for the entire
5:10 pm
period when i was almost 15 until i got arrested i was sexually abused by john muhammad. >> malvo also told matt lauer there are still unidentified victims from the shooting spree and he has contacted some of their families. muhammad was executed in 2009 and malvo is serving a life sentence in virginia. the two are linked to 27 shootings across the country including the 10 fatal ones in the d.c. area. a former fbi agent was found guilty on all counts today in connection with a deadly crash in prince george's county. this crash in february of last year back in brandywine killed 18-year-old lawrence garner jr. and seriously injured his best friend. adrian johnson was off duty at the time of the crash. prosecutors say he had a blood alcohol content of more than three times the legal limit. johnson faces a maximum of 13 years in prison when he's sentenced in december. we have talked to the victim's family after court wrapped up

and we're going to hear from them on our news at 6:00. still ahead tonight advocates and opponents of the gay marriage amendment in maryland find common cause on the campus of galludet university. >> reporter: i'm peggy fox in old town, alexandria, one day after congressman jim moran's son resigned from his campaign over voter fraud allegations, moran's challenger calls for an investigation. >> we'll come back and show you where sandy is going. next week is what we're concerned about. we'll show you the possible track she may take.

homestate of -- casting his vote in chicago in his homestate in illinois. earlier today the president made a donut run to florida before hding to the battleground state of virginia. mitt romney kept his focus on ohio for the entire day. >> and america wants to see big changes and we're going to bring big changes to get america stronger again. >> we've got to go forward with the policies that are getting us out of this mess and that's why i'm running for a second term. >> in fact, president obama will finish his day in ohio before heading back to washington. mr. obama picked up a big endorsement today from colin powell, but powell insists he's still a republican. arlington county opened a criminal investigation into voter fraud after an indent involving congressman jim moran's son. >> 23-year-old patrick moran resigned as a campaign field director after he was seen on an undercover video discussing illegal voting. peggy fox joins us live with the latest. >> that's right. in that video posted by a
5:15 pm
conservative activist patrick moran tried several times to discourage the undercover activist from following through with his so-called voter fraud plan, but then moran offers the man specific ways to skirt virginia's new voter identification law. patrick moran is seen in this video first trying to dissuade the man from committing voter fraud. >> try like make sure that it went through without a hitch. >> then after a while moran offers suggestions how to skirt the voter id law. >> 100 people don't vote. he's looking for two guys to help him. >> utility bills or something like that. he'll need bills. he'll need something with a name and their address on it. >> fairfax county republican chair jay mcconville says those concerned about voter fraud should find the video disturbing. >> it's quite shocking and the
5:16 pm
suggestion that i could vote 100 times should be met with an absolute response no way. that's illegal. don't do it and then he should be turned. in. >> reporter: patrick murray was one of the first to call for an investigation into the matter. >> he was seemingly so knowledgeable about how to conduct voter fraud. if somebody came up to me and said i want to do some voter fraud, what would i do? i would have no idea. first of all, i wouldn't participate and tell them it's illegal. >> reporter: moran's campaign office was empty and the door locked. all signs were removed and we were unable to talk to him today. he did release this statement. "patrick was well liked and was a well respected member of the campaign team. this incident, however, was clearly an error in judgment. the campaign has accepted patrick's resignation effective immediately." now just two days ago ironically congressman moran sent a letter with other democrats to attorney general eric holder asking him to open
5:17 pm
a voter fraud investigation into an incident in harrisonburg. you might remember a young man working for a voter registration company hired by republicans seen throwing stacks of democrat registrations into a dumpster. attorney general for virginia cuccinelli is investigating that incident and now arlington county police are investigating this incident in a democratic campaign. >> it's all unfortunate. that's for sure. thank you. well, across our region we found a whole loft folks out there buying generators -- lot of folks out there buying generators today, a clear sign of fear that the power utilities will be unable to keep the lights on if and when this possible super storm hits us. scott broom is at pepco headquarters with the latest on that downtown. >> reporter: just talked to pepco officials a while ago. they have started today to already activate their emergency plans. they've got contractors that are normally on the job. they've called all those people and told them to stay on the job and expect to be on stand- by throughout the weekend.
5:18 pm
that's about 400 people and the utility has already called out to other states in anticipation of having to get people in here, all the cues. you know what that means, the potential for some serious power outages. let me take you to a lowe's store i went to in laurel today because i found a lot of people voting no confidence with their wallets in all the plans of the local utilities. they were hauling out generators with forklifts today and believe me, there were plenty of people lined up both online and in person to put down as much as 800, $1,200 a piece as insurance against yet another round of utility failures. >> this impending storm's got me pretty nervous and i decided to invest in a generator, been out of power a few different times. i've lost food, had to empty out my refrigerator and just not going to do that this time around. >> reporter: and he is now lighter about $800 in his wallet. the other big sellers today,
5:19 pm
flashlights and batteries. also in the region the other big utility bge just issued a statement saying that its customers should be prepared for "hundreds of thousands of potential outages if this storm turns in our direction." workers there have also been put on stand-by. at 6:00 you'll hear it directly from pepco, my interview with officials here, and also we'll talk about other preparedness measures around your house, hint, hint, gutters and drains. that will be when i come back at 6:00. for now reporting live at pepco headquarters, scott broom, 9 news now. >> hundreds of thousands of outages, making my day here. thank you so much, scott. if you want to monitor the track of the storm on your phone, download our wusa9 weather app. text sandy to 25543 and, topper, i heard the word mega cyclone. >> erica used that, yes. >> what does that even mean?
5:20 pm
>> a very large storm. that's been on the books really since monday. we knew it was going to become extra tropical and then become a monster and we talked about it going back to the northwest and that's going to happen. we know a couple thing. it's going to be a big storm. we know the impact if it were to hit us would be next week, not this weekend. let's talk about sandy located now about 125 miles east, southeast of nassau, maximum wind are 105 miles per hour and the gusts are 125 miles per hour. right now it's moving north at 20. it will turn a little bit to the northeast. this is friday afternoon. still a category 1. then it will parallel the southeast coast. so that's good. i mean south and north carolina are okay. you might get a heavy rain band. winds are still 75 miles per hour on saturday, still a category 1 and a warm core tropical storm. then it begins to turn into new jersey next week. this is tuesday at 2:00 and winds are still now at about 65
5:21 pm
miles per hour. so don't be confused even though the storm goes to a cold core. it can still generate winds that are "hurricane strength." so if it takes this track, heavy rain will miss us. we could still see winds 20, 40 miles per hour getting into tuesday and tuesday night. if it goes further south, we're in big trouble. if it goes up towards new york city, we are in much better shape. new england is in bad shape no matter what. here's our spaghetti plot, again each line representing a model of where they believe it's going to go, pretty much a confluence, parallels the southeast coast to the weekend. after that it turns to the north and west. a couple models take it out. i think we'll throw those out. i think it will turn back northwest, goes into nantucket, good news for us, bad news for new england. if it takes this turn, we are in a world of hurt. if it takes this turn into southeast p.a., we'll have a much larger impact of the
5:22 pm
storm. again this is a tuesday event. it will start to affect us monday night and could continue to affect us through the early part of halloween. live weather cam brought to you by michael and son, this is nice, all the color now, 70, skies actually pretty much clear for the time being, winds easterly at 7. dew point is high. that tells you it's staying warm tonight. 66 in laytonville, 71 in rockville, 68 great falls, 70 in burke, 67 in fairfax and 70 in college park. we're monitoring sandy. we'll be doing that for a while. the threat is next week, mild tonight. grab your umbrella tomorrow, not a lot of heavy activity and getting cooler as we go through the week into the weekend. temps will keep going down. next three days, our 9 weather alert, green, yellow and yellow, seasonal friday, 68, a couple sprinkles, a couple showers saturday and sunday, temps going down, mid-60s saturday, low 60s sun.
5:23 pm
i think the little league games will be made tomorrow. bundle up, parents and take your umbrella. next seven days temperatures keep going down, more showers monday and if sandy were to materialize, then it would be tuesday. that would be our worst day with temperatures back in the 50s and look at that, mid-50s for halloween and thursday. i raised temps a hair, just talking to erica. i'm kind of beating myself up over temps. it may be cooler than that. we'll see where sandy goes and that will determine just how cool it is. >> plunging into the 50s with rain. >> remember it was 84 yesterday. >> no fun. >> the mega cyclone goes retrograde. >> yeah, that's right. >> i can think of a whole bunch of other special words he'll come up with between now and then. coming up next the best and worst booster seats are rated. we'll be back.
5:26 pm
in tonight's consumer alert some good news for most of the 2012 booster seat models. the insurance institute for highway safety released ratings for 17 brands and 15 of them earn the group's best bet rating. the iihs says booster manufacturers have responded to its ratings and parents now have a lot more good choices.
5:27 pm
>> the main shot for boosters is to elevate -- job for boosters is to elevate children and guide seatbelts so that seatbelts designed for adults fit kids properly and provide good crash protection. >> there were two booster seats not recommended. this is one of them. they are the safety first all in one and the safety first alpha omega elite. the iihs said these older designs don't give a proper belt fit. the lap belt is too high on the abdomen. the shoulder belt is too far out on the shoulder, but experts still say it's important to have your child in a booster seat regardless of which one it is. we've got a link to all the best bet booster seats on our website www.wusa9.com. recent deaths have the caffiene content of certain energy drinks under increased scrutiny. coming up consumer reports tests some of the top sellers to see just how much of a jolt you'll get. >> reporter: protesters for and against gay marriage come
5:28 pm
5:30 pm
two groups who could not be further apart in their beliefs at least on one issue came to a protest for a common cause at galludet university. people for and people against gay marriage say a university administrator should be reinstated. now earlier this month the school's president put angela mccaskill on paid live and as
5:31 pm
surae chinn reports, groups have called on the university to reinstate her as its chief diversity officer. >> reporter: both sides may not agree on same sex marriage, but what they do agree on is that angela mccaskill was exercising her first amendment right signing a petition and that she should be reinstated at the school. >> when do we want this? >> no! >> reporter: southern baptist church bust in members for the rally. >> the university is the one that is wrong here and not dr. mccaskill. >> reporter: and reverend daunte hickman. >> no one should need permission to sign a petition. >> reporter: the two have been outspoken on maryland's question 6 on equal rights for same sex marriage that's on the november ballot. on the other side of campus -- >> because we don't believe in same sex marriage. >> reporter: -- there are differing views standing on common ground. >> we want her to get her job back. >> reporter: while some accuse angela mccaskill of being anti-
5:32 pm
gay marriage when she signed a petition to get the question on the ballot she has not publicly made her position known. >> we'd like to have her come back and talk through this to resolve this issue. i feel very conflicted about this. dr. mccaskill is a sweet wonderful woman, but her job is to represent the people of minorities who don't have power. >> reporter: the attorney for angela mccaskill seemed to indicate it wasn't a matter of if she'd be reinstated at the school but when. >> we are of a general consensus that she should return and the issue is how. >> reporter: this now becomes a legal matter. both attorneys for mccaskill and the school are talking. so it could be just a matter of time before dr. mccaskill is back on campus again. at galludet university in northeast surae chinn, 9 news now. >> and the university's president released a statement. here's what it says in part. "as much as i understand the views that some outside organizations have about the immediate return of our chief
5:33 pm
diversity officer to campus, at the same time we need to move forward at a rate appropriate for our entire community." the food and drug administration is investigating five deaths that have been linked to a popular energy drink over the past three years. the probe comes after a 14-year- old girl died of cardiac arrest after drinking two 24-ounce cans of the monster energy drink. her parents claim the beverage company failed to warn consumers about the drink's dangers. >> the family really hopes that they can keep this from happening to anybody else. >> monster beverage says it's saddened by the death but does not believe its drink is responsible. an fda spokesperson says while the agency is looking into the incident reports do not necessarily prove the drink caused the death, but it does take them very seriously and will diligently investigate. now caffeine is the key ingredient in the monster
5:34 pm
energy drink. according to the lawsuit the girl consumed about 480 milligrams of the stimulant. experts say that's the equivalent of 21 8-ounce coca- colas or 19 8-ounce pepsis and we found it could be difficult to determine just how much caffeine is in these energy drinks. >> it's tough to stay sharp. so take five-hour energy. >> energy drinks. everyone from tim tebow. >> they said i couldn't win a national champion ship. >> to 50-cent and joan rivers advertise them. manufacturers facebook and internet video campaigns specifically target young people, but you have to be careful how much caffiene you drink. >> it can quicken your pulse, cause abnormal heart rhythms, keep you from sleeping well and elevate your blood pressure. >> consumer reports analyzed the caffeine content in 27 top selling energy drinks testing
5:35 pm
three samples each. although some list the amount of caffeine on the package, they are not required to and the numbers can be way off. >> some of the energy drinks underestimated the amount of caffeine listed on the label by 20% or more. >> so how much caffeine do energy drinks contain? test results show it varies widely. frs healthy energy drink averaged 17 milligrams per container. red bull and sk street kings energy around 80. five hour energy 215 milligrams and five hour energy extra strength 242. most healthy adults can consume up to 400 milligrams of caffeine a day. >> so for many people an occasional energy drink is probably okay. >> or drink an eight ounce cup of regular coffee. it has roughly 100 milligrams of caffeine. so recent events involving these energy drinks have really heightened some health concerns and we're wondering about how dangerous a caffeine overdose can be. >> it can be really serious with both physical and
5:36 pm
psychological effects. caffeine is the most widely used drug in america. it is a drug and it's pretty safe in moderate amounts, two cups of coffee a day, three cups of tea, a few sodas, but energy drinks can have much more caffeine and the potential for overdose is there. >> the blood pressure might go up to dangerous levels. it's also possible the heart rhythm could rise excessively. it's a little bit why people feel jittery when they drink too much coffee or even coca- cola. >> bottom line, caffeine is a stimulant. it can mess up your sleep schedule if you have it to close to bedtime. it can also be abused and the body can become physically dependent on having it. you can become addicted. withdrawal symptoms include headaches, irritability, depression and mental fogginess. >> yeah, i can relate to all those symptoms. you know what? you want to season the dangers of a caffeine -- see the dangers of a caffeine underdose. if you didn't have enough
5:37 pm
gangnam style already, there's a northern virginia house that loses hits mind literally. it's very cool. >> we have some information on why sandy might go next week. we'll come back and show you where she's headed in the short term and long term. >> up next a robber brings along a rare weapon to hold up a chicken joint. don't forget we're always on www.wusa9.com. stay with us. we'll be right back.
5:40 pm
caught on tape, some dude uses a samurai sword to rob a chicken joint. this you don't see every day. it's surveillance video from church's chicken restaurant in kansas city, ken chick -- in kansas city. customers were a bit stunned by the action, nobody hurt, though. you have to wonder if that's a real samurai sword. where would you even get that? >> first of all, their chicken is not that good. >> and there is that. here's a question. what do you get when you combine more than 8,500 lights and roughly 250 channels of computer animation? >> the answer? one heck of a halloween house
5:41 pm
show. >> welcome gangnam style. gangnam style. gangnam style. >> i've heard enough of that. >> yup, in house was singing. it was created by edwards landing lights, a holiday lights company in leesburg, virginia. i can't even talk and it's already gotten over a million hits on youtube. love the director, love the producer. >> you're going to have to sit down. when we come back, though, the sexiest songs ever. that will wake us up. >> plus what you're missing when you take up one of those popular bridal magazines, just saying. it's coming up.
5:44 pm
i'm back with the crew, anita, lesli and jc and we are just saying so let's get started. we're going to talk about facebook a little. everybody knows sometimes people will post stuff on your page you don't like. well, sometimes it gets nasty. in fact, one guy says when his friends posted a negative comment about his choice for president, they got into a big fight. it was so nasty not only did he defriend the guy, but it ended
5:45 pm
a 10 year relationship. so do facebook fights over superficial things need to end friendships? what do you think? >> ridiculous don't you think? >> i agree. >> but there's certain things my mama told me. you don't talk about, politics or your sex life. >> not on facebook. >> certainly not on facebook. hello. >> you would be surprised. >> well, yeah. >> i have a good friend who is going through a divorce and started posting a lot of stuff about her ex and i didn't know how to reach out and be like stop, stop. too much information. know you're angry, but this is not good because you can't take that back. it's everybody's business now. >> i think we have friends on facebook, but not all of our friends on facebook are our actual friends and so it sounds like this friendship may not have been a real substantial friendship from the start. >> they were friends for 10 years which precedes facebook. >> i know. so you would think if they were such great friends, they'd be able to sort of bridge that
5:46 pm
gap. >> not only that, if they were such great friends, he would already know that they were on opposite side of the political sector. there you go -- sides of the political sector there. you go. let's get to our next topic because brides magazine recently hired its first african american woman to act as editor in chief. apparently this is the first lady of color to head any of the 18 publications. most bridal magazines don't have people of color at all represented in their magazines. the question today why the lack of diversity in something so universal as weddings? >> that's a big stumper because we know that as you said, weddings are universal, african americans, indian americans, native americans, asian americans, all of us get married and all us need these resources. so i flipped through a brides magazine today just to see. it took 95 pages to get to an
5:47 pm
african american model and she was wearing a bad dress. it was anoscar de la renta. it was $9,000. but it was 95 pages in. i think it's unfortunate. i think she has a long way to go, but it's good to know there will be somebody there keeping an eye on these kinds of things to make sure that there are more cultures represented in those pages. >> you know where there has been progress is actually reality tv. my daughter is obsessed with the show say yes to the dress. it's all about finding your fairytale dress and you see these different brides. i couldn't believe the diversity in ethnic background, the sizes of the brides, brides with disabilities. they knock it out of the park in making it relate to everybody. >> we've got to stop talking about this because my testosterone level is going down. >> you don't want that pressure anyway. >> great lord. let's talk about cameras.
5:48 pm
we got speed cameras, security cameras. in fact -- >> i want to know how to get your testosterone level up. >> we'll talk later jc. we're going to talk -- >> keep going. keep going. >> he would got speed cameras, red light cameras and apparently now the fashion police have got themselves a camera. this is a new street fashion blog called style blaster. they set up a webcam in brooklyn. it takes pictures of people walking by. you can rate their looks which i guess goes from style pioneer down to so-calling bama, but nobody wants to know the fashion police are watching them. wouldn't that be terrible to get your picture taken? >> i actually think it's interesting. i want toen the camera is up there so i wouldn't be in my mommy garb with those shoes. i wouldn't want to know that somebody might actually be capturing me. >> i'd watch it. it would be entertaining just seeing people and how they, you know, dress and look. >> especially new york city,
5:49 pm
