family. >> i appreciate it, thanks. >> reporter: their hopes dashed, justin wolf's mother and their family did not feel like talking after hearing the news they dreaded. justin wolf who spent 11 years on death row won't be getting out of jail tonight or any time soon. attorney kimberly irving had to break the news to his family. >> how disappointing is this for the family? >> reporter: the family is disappointed. >> reporter: after an early ruling that went their way the family's hope grew throughout the day that justin wolf would walk out of those jailhouse doors at 5:00 tonight. they granted a stay for his release. >> and it is really just slowing it down. they asked for an expedited hearing on it as it will be heard in their oral argument that will be scheduled some time by late january, early february. >> reporter: twice the federal

judge has ordered the charges tossed out because of an alleged misconduct by prince william county commonwealth attorney. in court yesterday special prosecutor said after reading every word of the case he believes the federal judge got it wrong. >> judge jackson's order in our opinion is the correct order and we believe that when everything is flushed out that it should remain. >> reporter: in manassas, peggy fox, 9news. >> the murder for hire conviction and death sentences were thrown out, but prosecutors are hoping to retry him. a plea bargain is expected tomorrow in the case of the former corrections officer accused of ignoring a dying inmate. ronnie white was that inmate accused of killing a police officer dying behind bars. his death was ruled a homicide. corrections officers insist white killed himself. class, recess, homework, all now a part of the healing process for the kids from connecticut's sandy hook elementary. today those students were back

in class for the very first time since that nightmare shooting three weeks ago when adam lanza killed 20 first graders, six educators, then himself. now the school they were in is still a crime scene. and so the students are now using a refurbished school a few miles away. they are finding it the healing process to be together again. >> that new school has been renamed sandy hook elementary as police plan to guard this campus for the foreseeable future. well tonight we are getting the inside story on 44 kids rescued from child sex abusers all thanks to an international sting operation. under arrest tonight, nearly 250 people mostly here in this country, but there are still suspected pedophiles on out there. as they tell us that they hope you can help identify some of them. now, i will have to warn you some of the details you're about to hear are disturbing.

>> reporter: take a close look at these photographers. three men and a woman identified as sexual abuser of children that need to be taken off the streets. they're a part of a startling trend in which the victims are younger and younger. >> a recent case that we did last year in holland, 19 days old. >> reporter: the operation sunflower earned their name after investigators tracked clues, including this fund to rural, kansas. in doing so they were able to prevent that rape of an 11-year- old girl. >> we have found that over 79% of the offenders have been known to the victim. >> reporter: technology has spawned a shocking new demand for the child sex abuse in real time. >> we're seeing a number of the instances of the life, child abuses, you know, that have been streamed over the internet. >> and then transmitting that abuse around the world for either financial gain or

trading and collecting with the other predators. >> reporter: women are increasingly the abusers, like this one dubbed jane doe. she and this man allegedly arrested a young teenage girl and distributed photos of the abuse. the woman has distinctive tattoos. >> and we are talking about the sexual abuse, the rape, the molestation of the young children that have no way of speaking up for themselves. tonight the nation has a new congress that faces a lot of the same old issues. the 113th congress has now been sworn in. we caught up with virginia's new junior senator democrat tim cain, a former governor who now has to use his legislative skills. >> i kind of described it to myself as a governor and an executive job and an expertise job. i focus on a couple of passions

jamaica has died. she was 34-year-old vanessa brown riding in a car that slammed into a minibus. no one on the bus seriously hurt as the crash is under investigation. the high school student is in critical condition tonight as they believe that the 18- year-old was pulled out of the school parking lot and ran smack into the path of the mac truck. four other students were also in the car as they are in the hospital. but their injuries are non-life threatening. an update on the zoo director who drowned a view. the zoo director has pleaded guilty now to animal cruelty a part of the deal with the attorney state -- the state's attorney general office. the 27-year-old is also barred from making any decisions about euthanizing animals if she is ever a caretaker again. hillary clinton has been

little breezy tomorrow. i've been scouring the computer models here for the snowstorm, tweeting about that and i had to scour the big states for the snow. it is snowing in west texas as they had two to six inches of snow in parts of west texas. this will turn into rain as they head over to dallas. now yesterday we had a little disturbance in this general area that brought us the high to mid-level clouds. it won't be the case tomorrow. a lot more sunshine, but still a pretty chilly day. so breezy and cold. that will continue tomorrow. i would grab a coat, scarf, or hat depending on what you would prefer as we are looking at the windchills in the 30s. saturday will be dry, dropping them just a little bit on saturday and the playoff sunday. it will be nice, but chilly. i mean just about, you know, as good of a day here for them in two playoff games. including the skies, breezy,
