of brazil. this was during a protest over funding and caught for having the world cup in sao paulo, you can see a lot of people on the street but what you're seeing is a 1975 volkswagen beatle on fire. this is not lit by the protesters. the driver was a 55-year-old man named pipa santos, he's a locksmith, he had his family in five during this, he ran over a mattress that was on fire, maybe part of the barricade or definitely part of the protest, but you see it's a mixed bag of people, some police officers and probably some of the protesters and maybe some civilians helping to get these people out of the car. then it looks like santos gets behind the wheel and starts to tries to drive and sort of dislodge the mattress. watch here. >> still trying to save his car, wow. >> that's so dangerous. i mean, this thing could explode.

>> yeah. but i think most of these people are probably telling him, dude, you got to get the heck out of there. >> you can see how damaged this thing was i'm sure beyond repair. from there we'll go to china to a fire at a shoe factory. unfortunately more than a dozen lives were lost in this thing. but ladders very unstable looking going up and trying to save some of these people. but look down here, these are civilians who are helping out. a lot of people talking about this guy here you see in the black jacket and black pants. he's a 23-year-old. he's hanging on to what looks like maybe two ladders. kind of stabilizing the base of this thing. apparently because of his efforts the fire crew have now offered him a job. >> oh. >> pause he was able to step in here and show, hey, i can hang on to this ladder for however long as it takes to save as many people as we can. it's not unusual for people

to meet online and get love and marry. but this story is interesting. meet adrian, she's from merced, california, she likes to go out for cocktails with her friends. she likes to work out. but she met a man online and they fell in love so she moved to india to be with him on his farm. she goes from modern conveniences to indoor plumbing to where she's living with the cows inside their home at night. the shower is just a hole in a ground in a small room and a bucket and she says, do you know what, i wouldn't change my life for anything. i love him and i love this. >> and that's what matters, if she's happy, that's all that really matters because everything else is extra. >> right. trivial stuff. the heart wants what the heart wants and if love is in her life now i don't think that she cares that there's a toilet and the a shower. she gets the hugs and kisses of her beloved every night. >> this is true love. >> she has to cook outside. the fuel they use to warm everything are cow patties and

she goes from gasoline and electricity with a swch to having cow paddies that they use for fuel. i wouldn't change a thing. >> this is a testament to true love. >> she adopted their style and they are more conservative, she is wearing a sari. >> this bed doesn't have a mattress. it's just by screen. >> she even loves her mother-in-law and her mother-in-law completely approves. >> how do you do it? i didn't see the spot. it's got big letters and numbers on it, too. >> it's yellow. >> it's yellow. >> whoa. >> oh, my god. >> well, the driver of that car that's all smashed up now claims that the bus had run a red light, but because this was all caught on surveillance video, they were able to prove, no, he ran the red light. >> whoa. >> that guy just ran right through the red light. >> this one what happens when you're driving like a douche on in icy, snowy weather. straight to the tree smashed up. if you notice if you go back a little bit, you see this driver is going really fast on this very icy road. don't do that, dude. >> you can't even see the road. there aren't even tracks that you can drive on. >> visibility is also hard because the car in front of us is lifting all the ice and the snow back up into the air. >> boom. >> now he's not getting where he was going. it's just about time for us

>> folks over at pat collective tv to put this video together to show us thumper's progression. thumper was fostered and the women that work with thumper believed that there was more to this cat than just a life of dragging himself around, so they constructed a custom-made walker and as soon as they put thumper into this thing he started scampering around. they noticed after a few weeks of regular therapy like this, they noticed thumper wanted to shed his contraption and believe it or not -- >> no way! >> -- contrary to what doctors thought, thumper now looks like this and looks like this. he's still a little wobbly which kind of adds to his character and he's pretty cute but he can get around. he can stand up, he can move, he can walk, he can feed himself. >> this is a great testament to the power of just believing. a couple of band did its try to make off with a man's cash but don't make it far because -- >> whoa! >> -- the surprise hero who

in brazil. a guy gets out of his car and walks around the back and minding his own business but suddenly a couple of bandits pull up on a motorcycle and the passenger jumps off with the gun and demands what that guy has. that man associates sweeps in, knocks the guy down, has one guy pinned under the car and starts beating him while others passers by and the original victim come back to try to capture this guy. they do manage to get that guy under control, wait for police, boom, there you go. justice. the other guy, though, does get away. >> does he get away from what he took from this man? let's see if he drops it in front of the vehicle or not as he runs away. >> i think he took it. >> may may have. another video that shows instant justice this guy sitting at a light on his motorcycle, he has a hell mat cam minding his own business when suddenly off to his left a car pulls up and starts giving this guy some lip. [ bleep ] [ bleep ].

lots of cursing and lots of f-bombs and the car you can see now doesn't have the green light. the light in the distance is clearly red and he's out in the middle of the intersection just cussing this guy out, the guy on the motorcycle you'll see gesture, hey, buddy, pay attention. you notice what's across the intersection there. >> there's a cop. >> a little black and white. that guy continues to creep through the intersection. the cop's keeping an eye on him until -- >> pull your car over here to the right. >> pull your car over. the guy gets yanked right over to the side of the road. karma. justi justice. >> that's so dumb. >> pull your car over here to the right. this looks like the standard adventure video we get on the show. you got a guy body surfing, a beautiful day and what appears to be south australia, but this just isn't any kind of surf video, this is an animal rescue and this guy comes upon a department of conservation woman

and she's got something in her hands. >> oh. >> penguins aren't always in the snow. there are many penguins that like warm water. >> wouldn't it be so much fun to be a penguin rescuer. >> the little penguins swim in the water they're known as good divers but they can also bowurr and live on land where they go at night. but this one got into a little trouble because as you can see the waters are a little rough and they need to repatriot the guys back to the water. and the guy on the body board said maybe i'll help the guy out, and inside the bag is little blue the penguin. >> he's a pocket penguin. >> they are the littlest species but he's got a rope tied to his board and pullinitg out and then he's got the bag kind of around his neck so he doesn't drop it and, of course, the reintroduction into the water goes peachy keen. >> how do you know where the penguin wants to go? >> you don't. >> look at him floating this. he doesn't want to be out there. he wants to go back. >> i hope he finds some penguin

fascinating one, these are starlings and as we know starlings can do some pretty interesting patterns, but these starlings are all coming in to congregate. you see them come in and all hang out together over the course of 15 minutes. >> that's cool. like a little bus stop. >> you can see them filling in the power line. >> this must have taken him forever. >> i'm curious to know how he did. >> let'sind out, "right this minute" we have dennis via skype. welcome to the show. >> hi, how are you? >> we're doing really well. we're fascinated by this. how long did it take to map this out? >> well, the technical end of it, the editing end of it, takes about an hour per minute. >> wow. >> so, 15 minutes would take, you know, probably 16, maybe 17 hours. >> and why would you drawn to this? what made you really want to focus on this? >> i just kind of became interested in this sort of social movement. >> is there anything that you've been able to uncover about their behavior? any insights? >> yeah. what i found was that, you know,

although the dna of these creatures creates a kind of overarching predictability, they really have a find of desire to, you know, either be with one another or to take one place or take another. they're just very fun to watch. >> so, what are you hoping people take away from from this project? >> i'm hoping that these videos serve as a kind of a -- like a warm fire in which you can sit down and converse with your neighbor. you can kind of be intrigued with it. so that you bring your own narratives to these recordings. one of those videos where i think it's really just about the way you look at things. detroit has many, many abandoned buildings. some can see it as an eyesore while others see it as a really cool opportunity.

yeah. that's right, he went out with his buddies, some cameras and his restored old honda and took to the old packard plant. it's one of detroit's most famous abandoned buildings full of people that want to do crazy things. he decided, let's ride. ♪ picking through the rubble. up the stairs. on the five-story building. now, keep in mind this building's been abandoned for decades. it's crumbling down around them. the filmmakers basically shot up their shots. one take, that's really all they had. and they didn't really scout their location either. not the first guys to ride a motorcycle through there but could be one of the last because soon after these guys made this film, this building was purchased. there's now security fencing around the building so its future is unknown. the guys told me that just day after they shot this, part of the building collapsed right where they were riding.

cold weather is sweeping across parts of the nation bringing along with it some snow and ice. can be dangerous for driving, dangerous for folks, but can also create some beautiful video settings.

>> a lot of ice. >> yes! >> lots of ice. >> is that guy texting? what's he doing? he just, like, tweeting something? sure is a lot of ice out here. >> that's actually a photographer named tim curtis. he went out with his buddy alfred crabtree to the fall creek falls state park in spencer, tennessee, they went to different falls in this area, in this state park and got all kinds of cool frozen weather imagery. you can see the icicles, the frozen water, but the waterfalls are still moving. quite beautiful. >> it's almost like the waterfall is snow. it's like a snowfall. >> right? >> a frozen-fall. >> frozen-fall. >> that's a cool shot from behind the icicles, behind the frozen falls. >> that's an ice prison. >> ice prison. >> yeah, look at that. well, big game's coming up on sunday the super bowl, seahawks/broncos which means you could have a lot of people watching football which kind of don't necessarily know the ins and outs of the game and that's
