monitor muslim neighborhoods. back from the dead on easter sunday! they are going to the final four! >> and the final four matchups are set. good morning from the studio pheadquarters here in new york. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. the investigation into the brussels terrorist attack has expanded across europe, as has the crackdown on suspected terr. there have been arrests in belgium and netherlands and italy. now we know at least four americans were killed in the brussels attack. elaine cobb is in brussels with more. good morning, elaine. >> reporter: good morning, anne-marie. two of the american victims have been identified. justin and stephanie shults were killed at the brus a

and they are were dropping her her mother when the bombs went off. yesterday, the white house said president obama telephoned their parent to offer his condolences. at least a dozen americans were injured in last tuesday's attack. the attack was originally planned for today but was moved up following the capture of salah abdeslam, a suspect in the paris attack. over the weekend, isis released another video claiming responsibility for the brussels attack and the video claimed new threats against the belgium and euro europe. before you go, elaine, a lot of people are waiting to find out whether or not their loved ones are among those killed in one of the two attacks. can you give us a sense of why it's so difficult for authorities to identify the victims? >> reporter: forensic spent have been working with

samples provided by rests. they warned it would take several days. the belgian authorities said they don't want to release any names until they are absolutely sure. >> elaine cobb, thanks a lot. yesterday, police clashed with right wing demonstrators in brussels. kenneth craig has more on that and the investigation. >> reporter: good morning. for the first time since these attacks, we saw tensions here in brussels really come to a head, as angry demonstrators came face-to-face with authorities who have been criticized for not doing enough to prevent these attacks. dutch police arrested a frenchman in this rotterbam neighborhood for allegedly plotting an attack in france. belgian police carried out more than a dozen raids on sunday linked to terrorism but authorities did not say whether they were connected to last week's bombings. 31 people were killed and at least 270 other

at the memorial for the victims, police in riot gear used water cannons to push back angry demonstrators, including hundreds of right wing so-called hooligans. this woman broke down in tears as they trampled through a shrine. >> we have to unite and show we are against them. >> reporter: mourners in the crowd were visually shaken by their presence. >> they want to stop terrorism but not doing it the right way. >> reporter: a heavy military police is still presence in brussels after those violent clashes. authorities have also blocked off some of the city's streets. people have been coming here since last tuesday's attacks as a sign of solidarity and to pay their respects. >> i am not scared. i'm from brussels. i will never be scared. never. >> reporter: on sunday, belgian's interior minister knitted that decades of neglect hurt the country's response to teis

department and security forces are falling short. back to you. a faction of the taliban says it's responsible for an easter suicide bombing in pakistan that killed at least 65 people. many of the victims were children. another 300 were wounded in the eastern pakistani city of lahore. the bomb went off near children's rides and a park crowded with people celebrating easter. they say they targeted the christian school and schools and businesses in lahore are closed today. facebook apologized for a glitch that sent a safety check to users following the pakistan bombing. a safety check lets users to signal friends they are safe following an event like a bombing. yesterday's glitch sent the safety check notification asking if they were okay to users around the world. during his easter address, pope francis denounced terrorism and remembered victims of attacks in europe, africa, and elsewhere. tens

peters square to hear the pope. in his speech he cited recent attacks in brussels and elsewhere. the race to the white house. bernie sanders his campaign is riding high after beating hillary clinton in three states over the weekend. meanwhile, the republicans are sparring over how to stop terrorism. don champion is here in new york. don, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. foreign policy will likely be a dominant issue on the campaign trail this week as candidates focus their attention on the next big primary next tuesday. two republican contenders are also locked in a new battle over a state that already voted -- louisiana. donald trump is crying foul again. this time, threatening a lawsuit over ted cruz trying to grab delegates in louisiana. >> i won louisiana and now i hear he is trying to steal delegates. you know, welcome to the republican party. what is going on in the republican party is a disgrace. >> reporter: even though he narrowly lost to trump in the state, cruz's campaign has

ten more delegates his way, including some from former presidential candidate marco rubio. on the campaign trail, cruz also faces more criticism for his proposal to patrol muslim neighborhoods in the wake of the brussels attacks, an idea he defended sunday. >> what that looks like is pro active law enforcement. what that looks like is addressing the problem and engaging the problem. >> reporter: rival john kasich called such a move a knee-jerk reaction. >> i don't know how you would do it and, secondly, we can't be out there aggravating the very people whose cooperation we need. >> reporter: on the democratic side, hillary clinton and bernie sanders have dismissed the proposal. this week, sanders will try to build on caucus victims in washington, alaska, and hawaii over the weekend. >> we are doing extraordinarily well with young people and we are -- we think we do have a path toward victory. >> reporter: all of the candidates will campaign heavily in wisconsin this week, where voters will head to the

stolen pickup is finally forced to stop but when she got out of the truck she tried to steal a police suv. she was tackled and charges are pending. the roman catholic nun known to tv viewers as mother anjelica has died. she was founder-of-a television network. it now reached 250 million households. mother mary anjelica died in an alabama monastery. very appropriate. she was 92 years old. a surprise discovery during an easter egg hunt. those are some of the headlines on the morning newsstand. it's reported how an easter party led to 200,000 dollar pot bust. an egg hunt in a portland suburb was disrupted saturday when a man screamed that his roommates were going to shoot him. responding officers found 45 pounds of marijuana and charged three suspects. investigation is underway into the medical emergency death of an alexandria inmate. the 54-year-old man died at a nova alexandria hospital saturday. police say the inmate was being housed in a medical unit at a detention center where he had a medical emergency. his name will be released when his family is notified. a richmond lawyer is hopping to be the winner in the congressional race. in 2014 a university professor, dave brat pulled off a stung upset over eric cantor in the republican primary then won the general election. now a chesterfield county attorney, eileen bedell could set up a possible general election face off with brad. now an inspiring story to start your week off right. a man from houston gives his grandparents the surprise of a lifetime. >> here is the moment he was working toward for
