road conditions themselves actually look fantastic. we've been driving up here from montgomery county, plows have been doing a fantastic job, salting the roads, that takes the freezing temperature down from that 32 degrees down to about 15 degrees and that is what the melting point of the snow then becomes. that's how well this salt does on the roads until it starts to refreeze. road conditions look fine for your morning commute in, heading down 270, through frederic county, into montgomery county, and then points past there, you're not going to see anything on the side of the road. once you get in d.c., things look good. a little further up, check out to see what some of the back roads look like as well. we'll have more coming up in a bit. back to you in the studio. >> the good news about the storm, it wasn't loaded with snow, the warm was way too warm for it to stick. in some places, an inch to a dusting can

tracking for saturday hasn't exactly come together yet. again, it's something we'll be tracking and the forecast will change hour by hour. national weather service said head's up through the northern neck. a winter storm warning toward the southern parts of maryland and through the northern neck. this is what we're looking at. this is over doing it a little bit. if the forecast holds. if it travels to the east a little bit, we'll get less. if it travels to the west more, we'll get more. so, we're going to have to wait and see until that low pressure forms. i can't tell you where it's going to go. we need it to form and then we can track it easier. so, 33 degrees, winds out of north. it's going be cold today. into some cloud cover, your travel today should be fine. roads look good. as we head through friday, 6:30, we're still dry. we see the snow keeping on in.
