is not good at all. she is devastating over the news. jennifer peros is at the manchester arena. >> tonight, vigils are being held all over england and here. as for ariana grande, she's not expected to go through her shows in london on thursday and friday evening. as for the rest of her tour, well, sources tell "e.t." that her team is continuing to assess the situation. as i'm sure you can imagine, this story is a particularly yichlt home run upsetting one for every one. the attack killed 22 people including an 8-year-old girl. this morning i spoke to several survivors who described the mass panic after the explosion. >> i thought i was going to die, i was so scared. >> people running as fast as they possibly could in panic, in terror, just wanted to get out. there were mothers carrying children over their shoulders. >> the other angle that everyone is talking about today is security. nischelle turner is in new york with more.

>> jen, i'm here at madison le other angle today is security. michelle turner is in new york with more on that. michelle? >> jen, i'm here at madison square garden -- new york's biggest indoor arena, with a capacity of about 20,000 people, it is similar to the manchester arena, because there is a subway station, penn station, running underneath the building. >> before you pass through security that's where the attack can happen. now they have toshore that up. >> so, what's being done today? the nypd did deploy what are called "hercules teams," an elite, heavily armed team. which is part of the anti-terrorism group. are you adding security here? >> absolutely. we have canine dogs, new york state troopers around this venue. >> and all across this country today, from concerts to hockey games, security is being beefed up.
