obama on his successor's stance of clie management change calling the withdrawal temporary absence of leadership. good morning from the studio 57 newsroom at cbs news headquarters here in new york. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. well, there are reports of two attacks this morning in the iranian capital of tehran. four gunmen opened fire in the iranian par la money. that's according to iran parliament state tv. the four terrorists or foreother terrorists including a suicide bomber attacked the mausoleum o. it was unclear who was behind the attacks or if they are linked. well,

fbi director james comey is expected to testify before the senate intelligence committee we're learning more about the relationship. he told jeff sessions he did not want to be left alone with president trump. that came after mr. trump according to comey asked him to drop the investigation, according to michael flynn. and the "washington post" is reporting that the president asked the director of national intense jens if he could intervene with comey on the russian investigation. weijia jiang with more on this. good morning, weijia. >> reporter: good morning, anre. he asked him to publicly state there was no collusion between russia and the state campaign. today they will be grilling him before they do the same to comey. president trump wished james comey well tuesday ahead of his highly anticipated testimony before the senate intelligence

committee. ousted fbi director is expected to detail his interactions with the president before he was abruptly fired last month. among them, that mr. trump allegedly asked him to drop the investigation before national security adviser michael flynn, an individual familiar with what comey told associates after that request told cbs news, comey asked attorney general jeff sessions to prevent him from being alone in a room with president trump again in order to protect the fbi from white house influence. while comey isn't expected to say whether the president obstructed justice, he'll likely address president trump's claim that comey repeatedly told him he was not the subject of the fbi's probe. the white house has yet to say whether the president will push back against comey's 278 by tweeting in real time. >> my guess is he's going to let the testimony play out and then respond to it some time later that day. >> reporter:

on capitol hill here tomorrow comes amid mounting tension between the president and attorney general jeff sessions. yesterday sean spicer refused to say whether the president still has confidence in sessions. >> i have not had a discussion with him about it. >> reporter: the president remains disappointed over sessions recusal over the ongoing investigations into russia. even though comey is expected to offer up details about the conversations he had with the president, he's not expected to draw conclusions or offer analysis. and, anne-marie, has not expected to testimony about evidence that's still part of the ongoing investigation. >> well, we will be watching. cbs news has learned that russian hackers may have helped spark the diplomatic crisis in the persian gulf. the fbi is assisting the cutter to investigation which involving planting a fake news story.

one officer was slightly wounded. police investigating the suicide bombing attack in manchester last month arrested a 38-year-old man at london's heathrow airport tuesday. he was charged under the terrorism act and remains in custody. and a man was arrested this morning in east london in connection with the attack at london bridge. police identified the third attacker, a man known by italian officials who passed their concerns on to the british officials last year. seven people were killed in saturday's attack. two were australians. prince harry remembered them during a visit to sydney. australians form an important and vibrant part of the attack in london and we're reminded of that in good times and in bad and our hearts go out to the victims, their friends, and families. >> one of the australian victim was a nurse who was killed while helping other victims. the ride

uber fired more than 20 employees following an internal investigation following sexual harassment. some of those let go were senior employees. the investigation was launched after a former employee failed to act on sexual harassment complaints. former attorney general holder has conducted a separate investigation. the cross-compassion resumes today of a women who accuses bill cosby of sexual assault. testifying yesterday andrea constant said cosby gave her pills that left her helpless. >> reporter: bill cosby returned to a pennsylvania courthouse tuesday where he came face-to-face with the woman whose sexual assault allegations brought him here. on day two of the 79-year-old entertainer's trial, the prosecution's key witness andrea constant took the witness stand and tell the jury cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her at his mansion in 2004. the

commute today, we're going to see a few showers here and there. most places will be cloudy and cool. that's the biggest trend you will see today. michael and son camera disrie for today, 63 degrees. it's those easterly winds that are going to stick with us all day long, and easterly winds for us are not a pleasant went direction. it kind of keeps those clouds lodged up against the mountains, hard to break, hard to see some sun today and a little drizzly at times today. 54 for leesburg, waldorf right now at 55. so it is cool out there. it's going to remain unseasonably cool today. so any showers that do develop today are not going to be severe, and they're going to be pretty light. we have a little bit of a drizzle going on near 270, germantown, rockville, it's going to stick around. futurecast indicates a little bit more going on through the 8:00, even through the noon hour, but at any point today, especially west of 95 these showers are just going to start to pop up. so just be advised as you head out for your lunch hour you might see a few stray showers. this will be a good day before you head out for lunch, check in with t

fbi director james comey asked attorney general jeff sessions to prevent him from being left alone with president trump. an individual familiar with the situation said comey wanted sessions to run inference with the white house in what comey thought were inappropriate requests for these meetings by the president. bill cosby's chief accuser took the stand in the sexual assault trial on tuesday. former temple university employee andrea constein testified that cosby gave her pills and then sexually assaulted her while she was incapacitated. cosby's lawyers say, though, the testimony was not consistent with what she said in a civil trial back in 2005. ariana grande is back on tour now for "dangerous woman" tour in paris tonight. the performer sus pemedded her concert following that suicide bombing in the manchester show last month. she came back to the stage on sunday headlining the one love manchester concert and that benefits the victims. country stars are getting ready for tonight's cmt

any point. it's never going to last very long. so a couple of sprinkles for 270 near germantown, rockville and just north of silver spring. these will carry on at any point today until the sun sets. and these easterly winds continue. this is 12:00 for your lunch hour. so might be a little more wet as you head out through fredrick, hagerstown and martinsburg through the lunch hour. notice the trend here that they're generally west of 95. as we head through 4:30, just making your way home, we're looking at a dry beltway, but we do see a couple of showers west of 95, once again and south of 66. drying out overnight, and some we see a little bit more sunshine. 60s for much of the day, reaching about 70 degrees around the region. the heat is cranking up. we'll get to the numbers coming up. ellen. >>reporter: allison, we had a fatal accident overnight just off of blaitensburg road on kings chapel road. this is video from the scene. what it involved was a vehicle and a motorcycle, and the motorcyclist did die in this. so that is why both
