the stadium where politics stayed on the sidelines. democrats, 11, republicans, 2, but the oners of the annual congressional baseball game handed over the trophy as quickly as they received it, asking that it be placed in representative steve scalise's office. >> we're brothers and sisters. the trophy doesn't mean anything. our friendship does. >> scalise was one of four people shot wednesday during practice in the game. doctors say he may receive further rounds of surgery though his condition has improved in the last 24 hours. back at the game david bailey injured in the shooting threw out the first pitch surrounded by support for all of the victims. a pregame prayer at scalise fan zone. >> steve would want nothing more than the game being played. >> he doesn't mind the fact we won and he didn't play and he was the difference in winning and losing. jame

22-year-old college student was flown back to the united states last tuesday. fred warmbier described greeting his son for the first time in nearly two years. >> i knelt down by his side and i hugged him and i told him i was so glad he made it home. >> reporter: officials say he fell into a coma after he contracted body lichl and took a sleeping pill a day after he was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor. he was convicted of committing a hostile act after stealing a propaganda poster last year. today they say he shows no sign of a botulism infection but he did suffer severe brain damage. lead physician daniel canter. >> he has spontaneous eye opening and blinking, however, he shows no signs of understanding language. >> reporter: canter said t

hena daniels is at the new york stock exchange with that and more. good morning, hena. >> good morning, anne-marie. here on wall street they continue their recent slump. the nasdaq is on track for its second consecutive weekly loss. yesterday the dow jones lost 14 points. the s&p 500 finished 5 points lower. japanese airbag manufacturer takata is reportedly preparing to file for bankruptcy. takata faces billions in liabilities stemming from defective airbags. the bankruptcy filing could come as early as next week according to reuters. takata has been working to get backing from the u.s.-backed automakering. >> nike is going to focus on its hottest number selling sneakers and cut the number of styles it sells. it plans to sell more shoes directly to customers online. sales of running performance

we could see some stronger storms. we are looking at 71 degrees right now and humid air with the winds out of the southeast is going to help fuel some of these storms later on today. so isolated to start after the lunch hour and then becoming more scattered and more strong as we head through your dinner time. 67 for gaithersburg, 72 for leesburg. a quick check of the forecast, cloudy skies and isolated showers will continue this morning even through the early afternoon, but generally pretty dry and hit or miss. 12:00 today we are looking at cloudy skies. this is 3:00 just a few isolated showers out there as we head through 6:00 becoming more scattered. you see these heavy down pours starting to line up. isolated until 6 and between 6 and 9:00 storms will begin to come through. expect temperatures enter the mid-80s. you won't find a

minnesota avenue and benning road closed for a major crash involving a driver whose car spun out of control and wrapped around a pole. in the meantime, if you're going to be traveling around the beltway, still looking at a smooth ride this morning. 395, i-66 fairly quiet for the most part. we're going to have an update on the traffic conditions around town in about 9 minutes. it was democrats 11 republicans 2 at the annual congressional baseball game. democrats gave the trophy to the republicans and asked that it be given to congressman steve scalise. scalise is still hospitalized in critical condition this morning after undergoing more surgery. today investigators hope they'll be able to get inside a building in mount airy maryland that was destroyed by fire to find out what started it. thursday's fire destroyed a warehouse that used to be a car dealership. you could see those flames and that thick smoke billowing into the air for miles. the fire was hot enough to
