another plan. and a warning of tainted alcohol at mexico resorts. good morning from the studio 57 newsroom at cbs news headquarters here in new york. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. one person was kill and seven others injured when a ride at an ohio state park came apart. video shows three of them being tossed into the air and three are in critical condition. they say the ride was inspected several times. brook silva-braga has more. good morning. >> good morning, anne-marie. they say they take their job seriously and kept the other rides closed because they hasn't finished their inspection or it hadn't cleared. this one, they don't know what

went wrong. seemingly crashing into something on the ground and throwing part of the ride and the people in it through the air. >> i heard a girl scream help and i looked over and seen them fly out and then i see them slap to the ground. >> fairs are about one of the best things in life, and then tonight with this accident, it becomes a terrible terrible tragedy. >> it happened aboard a ride called the fireball on the opening day of the fair. >> this was a great force, great mechanism, similar to a high-speed motor vehicle crash, something along those lines. >> they insist the ride was thoroughly looked over three or four times before it was open, even once by a third party, though, they're still trying to figure out what may have been mixed. >> there's no guarantees, obviously mechanicalsr

saying that her parents had been in a fight and she sounded pretty desperate. >> the ship with 3,400 passengers was diverted to juneau yesterday morning. the circumstances of the death are under investigation. 13 immigrants who were found alive inside a sweltering tractor trailer in san antonio have been detained as possible witnesses in a criminal investigation. the trailer was found sunday. ten people who were inside died. the driver, james bradley, faces a human smuggling charge. a detention hearing scheduled for today has been postponed until august 23rd. the state department is warning american tourists to mexico about reports of tainted alcohol that could cause sickness or blacking out. the warning follows an investigation by the "milwaukee journal sentinel" of the death pof a milwaukee woman at an all-exclusive resort. she died

charges while prosecutors will argue that the cases should go forward. justin bieber could be facing charges after hitting a paparazzo. police say the photographer was taken to the hospital with a leg injury for that. bieber did get out of his car and was seen consoling the man on the ground there. >> wow. caught on camera, prison inmates record their own escape? apparently this video shows the inmates removing one of the legs of their bunk beds. ndbehit thawas a vent that had also been caught. the three escapees were caught a week later. a lawyer for one of them gave this video to the associated press which was recorded on cell phone which was somehow smuggled into the inmates. that's a look at what's going on. the news at 4:30 starts right now. >> this is wake up washington on wusa9. >> we saw that video, we're like da.
