traveled a long way to the u.s., hoping to save their baby's life. but, first, we want you to grab your jackets this morning because it's going to be a little chilly outside. miri marshall is standing by with a first look at the forecast. hey, miri. >> that's correct. hey, larry, good morning, everybody. this is the morning you might want to bring a slightly heavier jacket. you don't need the down coats yet, but something to keep you comfortable. we're down to 56 in washington, and 55 in leesburg. still time for those temperatures to fall. today we'll see high temperatures between 62 and 67 degrees, partly sunny and a little bit cooler out there with winds out of the northwest at five to 10 miles per hour. it is quiet now as we look at hd doppler. we are seeing our few clouds, we'll continue to see them floating in and out during the day. by noon there's a nice mix of sun and clouds, but there are some clouds over western maryland that will eventually float na the area. another weak front is going to push through the area. that's why you'll see a few clouds overhead, especially later on this evening, heading into tomorrow. if you look at

forecast, got plans out there? rain may be a part of those plans. we're looking at a -- at a high right around the 70-degree mark on saturday. but the showers don't come in until really late, so you have all of saturday to enjoy without the rain. sunday, however, big redskins game, we could get some really heavy downpours during that game. we'll take a look at that forecast coming up, but it looks like temperatures in the 60s with rain. >>reporter: traffic nice and slow out there. we do have some construction. one of our producers jake, said the outer loop to the beltway on connecticut has been blocked. a dumb lanes sound like they might be closed too. watch out heading around the outer loop. i do have a live look at traffic here on the beltway right by connecticut. in addition to that we have some other construction on the inner loop of the beltway by route 450 and also north of there by the i.c.c. heading eastbound between briggs cheney road and i-95. >> thank you, ellen. some of the towns hardest hit by the california wildfires are trying to make it easier there for people to rebuild. >> in santa

board passed several ordinances overnight, now people won't have to pay fees for building permits. it does away with restrictions on trailers and tiny houses, allowing people to live on their property while their homes are being rebuilt. the city council also passed measures to fight price gouging as well. the world series lasted less than 2 1/2 hours that. is the shortest world series game in the past 25 years. dodger's ace clayton kershaw was masterful, striking out 11 bat ners a 3-1 victory over houston. the astros will try to even things up in game 2 in a very steamy los angeles. talk about something you don't want to see on your way to the beach. a woman walking her dog first reported seeing a alligator on vero beach yeferl this week. sheriff's deputies called in a professional gator trapper to help them out. he used a lasso to -- a rope to lasso the 12-foot long animal, taped his mouth shut. and then taken to a farm where gators are permitted, far, far away from the neighborhood. >> kids and dogs and stuff. that's a quick look at what's going on. >> the news
