norah o'donnell talks with david shulkin about whether there was anything that could have been done. former pitcher roy halladay loved baseball and had a passion for flying. it seems the latter caused him his life. he was killed yesterday when the small plane he was flying crashed into the gulf of mexico. he was one of the first to fly it. don dahler has more. >> reporter: roy halladay's single-engine plane went down in the gulf coast. there was no mayday call and the plane was found in about six feet of water. >> we know roy is a person, a caring husband who loved his wife randi. he loved his two boys tremendously. >> reporter: he was a new but avid pilot often posted pictures on sports media. before retiring from baseball four years ago halladay was kn

a mother and daughter have been found safe in falls church. now police didn't tell us where they found gail ferro and her daughter maya. they have been missing since monday. we are looking at clearer conditions this morning as you step outside. the rain is moved over to the south of us. and that's where we'll remain today. so we'll experience the partly to mostly cloudy skies. at the bus stop this morning to keep the kids comfortable send them out with a jacket or sweater. temperatures 38 to 43 degrees at the bus stop this morning. in the next few hours at 7:00 a.m. the rain the still south of -- is still south of us and we have clouds out there and by lunchtime temperatures are in the 40s and still the showers to the south and we are just cloudy out there. same story on the drive home. it should be a dry one this afternoon versus yesterday. nice clouds out there. showers well to our south and that's where they will remain for the day. and for the rest of the evening and night. so we'll see those temperatures in the upper 40s to low to mid- 50s right around
