trump's comments about the website mplts. >> in a series of screen shots donald trump jr. released hiss conversations with wiki leaks during the campaign writing in part how ironic that one of the congressional committees has chosen to selectively leak the messages. trump jr.'s release came just two hours after the claek published his messages. in one instance they suggested that if mr. trump were to lose he should not concede and instead claim the election was rigged. cbs news has confirmed that investigators are in possession of the messages and that wiki leaks published

>> in order to seek to influence our election. >> during the election candidate donald trump frequently praised the website for releasing damaging e-mails and information about his opponent hillary clinton. in october of last year vice president mike pence was asked about the trump campaign's connections to the hacking site. >> some suggested on the left all this bad stuff about hillary, nothing bad about trump, that your campaign is in cahoots with wiki leaks. >> nothing could be further from the truth. >> an attorney released the statement saying quote, over the last several months we have worked cooperatively with each of the committees and have voluntarily turned over thousands of documents. we can say that we have no concerns about these documents and any questions raised about them have been easily answered in the appropriate forum. >> a spokes person for the vice president said he was never aware of anyone associated with the campaign being in contact with

he said he first learned about this news from yesterday's report. >> thanks a lot. jeff sessions is scheduled to testify before the house judiciary committee today and is likely to be asked about previous statements concerning contacts between the trump campaign and russia. and sessions is considering appointing a second special counsel, this one to look into hillary clinton foundation dealings. sessions has directed federal prosecutors to evaluate certain issues. a russian backed company purchased uranium mines back in 2010 and that's when hillary clinton was secretary of state. roy moore, the republican candidate for the u.s. senate seat in alabama says that he doesn't know the latest woman to accuse him of sexually assaulting her. she claims he assaulted her when she was a teenager. senior republicans want moore to

>> this is absolutely false. >> a defiant roy moore held a press conference monday evening addressing the latest claim of sexual misconduct against him. >> i don't even know the woman. >> reporter: earlier in the day beverly nelson described how he assaulted her decades ago when she was just 16. >> he began groping me. and putting his hand on my breast. >> nelson says the attack occurred after the then district attorney offered to drive her home from the restaurant where she worked. she says the regular customer left this note behind in her high school yearbook calling her a sweet girl. >> it has nothing to do with reality. >> moore has called the allegations against him a witch hunt but more republicans are calling on him to step

senate majority whip john cornyn addressed whether they should vote to expel him if he wins. even before the latest accuser came forward mitch mcconnell said he had heard enough. senator mcconnell said the party is exploring whether another republican could write in should moore win the rhace. president trump is on his way home from asia. protesters took to the streets. mr. trump was there to attend a summit on regional security but he skipped it when it was delayed. this morning mr. trump tweeted, just arrived in the philippines for my final stop with world leaders. will lead to fair trade deals unlike the horror show from past administ

when he returned to washington. when he gets home the president will turn his attention to tax reform. he's scheduled a thursday meeting with house gop meetings before they vote on a tax overhaul plan. mr. trump has his own ideas calling for a steeper trax break for wealthier americans. the death toll from the powerful earthquake that hit the border between iran and iraq now stands at more than 430. sunday's quake struck as people were going to bed. another 7,000 were injured. rescue workers are digging through what's left of collapsed buildings. the power is off in the region. water lines are cut and there are no communications. the worst damage appears to be in a kurdish town in western iran. and new evidence in the death of a frat member.

powerful winds in the seattle area yesterday toppled trees leaving one dead and several people hurt. wind gusts toppled -- topped 60 miles per hour, a tree fell on a car in a seattle suburb killing a woman and critically injuring her sister. almost 200,000 customers lost power. ucla basketball players being detained in china are getting help from the president and new clues in the death of a green beret. those are some of the head lines on the newsstand. two navy seals already under investigation in the straggling death of a green beret are also under scrutiny in an alleged theft. army staff sergeant was strangled to death in june in mali after an argument with the two seals. the seals are reportedly now being investigated for taking money from a fund

we're at the new york stock exchange with that and more. >> good morning. well, shares of general electric took a nose dive yesterday falling about 7% after ge cut its dividend in half. the dow released the forecast to three sectors. aviation, health and energy. its quarterly dividend is being cut to 12% saving. shares are down 38% sitting at five-year lows. the ge pulled the entire lower sector. in the end, the dow gains 17 points. the nasdaq rose six points yesterday. prominent venture capitalist is taking a leave. allegations of misconduct. he was one of elon musk's early investors. he also resigned from hism

and denies reports of allegation. amazon is making a series out of lord of the rings. the series will be a prequell to the triology. now, this seems like a joining of strange bedfellows. walmart is devoting a section of its website to lord taylor. it hopes to attract new customer who is are already buying higher end products on walmart.com. this is the latest push to compete with amazon and barbie is adding a new doll to its lineup to honor women who break boundaries. the first american to compete at
