of some of the lowest prices of the year. in los angeles, deals of 50% and 60% off at this outlet mall. nearby at toys "r" us, this woman gave us a look at her radically low receipt. >> norm lit it would be $700. today it's $400. >> it's an emotional day for people who lost their homes after the hurricane. >> to see my mom and dad. i'm grateful they're here. >> industry experts say this one-day shopping extravaganza has really been going on all month. retailers are trying to get people to go through their doors and pay with cash. it's not just clothing and electronic stores getting in on the action.

jail this morning for the murder of a he was making a traffic stop on i-45 but as the trooper walked back to his patrol car, the suspect -- the driver took out a rifle and shot the trooper. officers later captured the suspect in a wooded area near the shooting scene. the "washington post" reports the u.s. navy has ended the search for three sailors missing after a plane crashed wednesday. that transport aircraft was flying to the uss ronald reagan when it went down in the philippines sea. eight other people on board that plane were rescued. the crash happened during joint military exercises with japan's navy and this is the third big accident for the 7th fleet this year. two of its ships have been involved in deadly crashes. troubling news in the search for a missing submarine from argentina. an underwater sound from the submarine believed to be an explosion this morning. and that news raises fears about the safety of the 44 crew members. average tina's -- argentina's
