bureau. present trump appointed his budget director mick mulvaney as interim director but last night leandra english who had been elevated by the outgoing director filed a lawsuit challenging mulvaney's the banking industry says the agency is too powerful. mick mulvaney has called the agency a joke. police in southern california rescued a baby allegedly taken hostage by her father. police in covina east of los angeles moved in last night following a 7 1/2-hour standoff. the suspect was initially pulled over for suspicious driving. his 7-month-old baby was in the back seat. the child's mother had been in the car but was talked out after arguing with the suspect. the suspect who had a knife was

baby is safe. an arlington, texas, police officer shot a man who pointed what turned out to be a fake gun at him. yesterday police responded to a theft at an arlington shopping mall. the suspect had allegedly stolen sunglasses. he pulled the imitation gun aimed at the officer, the officer fired the weapon and the suspect was taken to the hospital. the gun, a replica gun fires beebe's. a volcano in bali has erupted. this morning the danger zone around the volcano has expanded to six miles. the volcano, mount. agung start throwing ash. the international airport was shut down early this morning trapping

landover late saturday night. police found the two-year-old and his mother with injuries, both of them dead. the family moved out of the house two weeks ago and they are trying to figure out why the mother would do something like this. it was a violent weekend in the district. there were several shootings and stabbing three shootings and a stabbing that was deadly and a shooting in south west d.c. yesterday there was a shooting and stabbing that happened near dupont circle. no suspects have been reported in any of those cases. now to good news in the district, three young children were missing since thanksgiving and have been found. they went missing in northeast but police say they were located safely last night. that's a quick look at what's going on. the news at 4:30 starts right now. this is wake up
