leaders. >> they've been all talk and no action and now it's even worse. now it's not even talk. so they're not showing up for the meeting. good morning from the studio 57 newsroom at cbs news headquarters here in new york. good to be with you. i'm anna regreen. a suspect is under arrest for a string of murders that terrorized people in tampa, florida. it was a tip from a co-worker. th his arrest came 51 days after the first murder in tampa. >> good morning. police arrested him after there was a tip he had a gun at a fast food restaurant where he worked. he'll be charged with four counts of first o-degree murder.

mcdonald's, police have arrested a man who is accused of killed four people. >> we'll charge him with four counts of first-degree murder. 24 years old. >> reporter: officials say they received 5,000 tips throughout the investigation, but it was one during the day yesterday that led to his arrest. >> we received information about mr. donaldson having a firearm at the mcdonald's. one of his co-workers approached a police officer. that is what led us to that. >> reporter: the four people killed were shot within a half mile of each other in the seminole heights neighborhood. they had all been walking alone, with no connection to one another. >> tonight is the beginning of when justice

minutes before splashing down. >> it went higher, frankly, than any previous shots they have taken. it's the research and development efforts on their part. japanese government sources said they suggested radio signals that suggested north korea was prepared for a testament they began firing ballistic missiles two or three a month beginning in april. mr. trump later offered a relatively muted response. >> it is a situation that we will handle. >> reporter: according to david wright from the union of concerned scientists, he say it could have reached any part of the u.s. they say its new missile was being developed to protect the

eastern north carolina for a missing 3-year-old girl. mariah woods woke up to find her daughter missing. there was no forced entry but the back door was unlocked. they're using all means to try to locate the girl. >> we're asking the public's help in the surrounding community for anyone who has had contact with the family from sunday on to please contact us with any information. >> woods mother lives with her boyfriend. the young girl has a leg problem which makes it hard for her to walk. a suspect accused of killing eight people in the new york city truck attack pleads not guilty for that and other murders. he was shot by a police officer. sigh poff told authorities he was watching isis

to an erupting volcano. more than 3,000 flights were canceled leaving 60,000 people stranded. ash has reached a total of 25,000 feet. the ash has shifted within the last few hours allowing authorities to reopen the airport. there's a call for a crackdown on harassment after the texas shooting. "the dallas morning news" reports a family that lost nine members in the sutherland springs church massacre filed a claim. the family of brian hokum filed it yesterday. the family says that allowed kelly to buy the semiautomatic weapon and ammunition he used to kill 26 people

there are demands regarding sexual misconduct. they wrote an open letter. the women say sexual misconduct protocols in the national security industry are weak, underenforced. t"the new york times" reports. the letter details alleged efforts by uber to use a spy team to steal trade secrets from its rivals and cover its tracks. it delayed the start of a trial over whether uber stole self-driving car technology from the google spin-off waymo.

parts of the dmv. we are going to get to all the stories in a moment but first we are talking about the weather forecast outside and it looks like it's going to be a warm one miri. >> yes once again the temperatures climbing to the 60s. it is 45 degrees outside right now. we have clear skies and winds out of the southwest at 7 miles per hour. makes it feel just a tad cooler. it feels more like 41 degrees. so this is what it will be like for kids at the bus stop. dress them for temperatures between 36 and 47 degrees. again, layers will be the key here. pack on the layers this morning. so by the afternoon, they can just peel off the layers and be comfortable as temperatures climb to 65 degrees. and in november can you believe that? we are well above average once again today. so we'll see the highs around the 60s across most of the area including leesburg at 62. and we're up to 63 in andrews today. our next chance of rain comes in tomorrow night. and it looks like tomorrow evening you are dry for the drive home. shower chances better after 10:00 p.m. and there you can see by 8:00, some faint showers to the no

overnight. ellen? all right miri thinking i brought the wrong coat. i brought the heavy winter coat. it was cold. all right if you are heading out right now just construction reports for the most part. we did have a police investigation going on on west virginia avenue northeast right at queens street northeast. sounds like it was a shooting overnight. i do believe they have opened back up this is the 1100 block of queens street and you should be okay if you are leaving that neighborhood in next this morning. -- northeast this morning. also if you are heading up on the topside of the beltway, right as you pass by the inner loop and connecticut avenue and georgia avenue. larry and jan that's where you will see some crews working. ellen thank you. now to a pair of stories that are certainly tough to talk aboutment but important that we share to you at home. two adults who had regular contact with children are now facing serious criminal charges. >> yeah, kathy rocket already faces 34 sexual assault charges in orange county, virginia and this morning, you can add 12 more to that

county. they all come from students she allegedly touched or forced into sexual situations during her time as a volunteer softball coach in both counties. prince george's county, another volunteer coach is facing similar charges. carl joseph volunteered at gwen park high. he sent a naked picture to a student there police say. a second student who was aware of it told a teacher. later today funeral services will be held for a baltimore police detective who was killed with his own service weapon. the detective sean suiter was shot and killed last week as he followed up on a case that was assigned to him. investigators are still trying to track down the person who shot him. a service will be held at mount pleasant church and ministries in baltimore starting at 10:15 this morning. that's a quick look at that's going on. the news at -- what's going on. the news at 4:30 starts right now. and good wednesday morning everybody, thank you for joining us, i'm jan jeffcoat. >> i'm larry miller. welcome back friend. good te

be back. >> always good to see you at home as well. it's actually been fairly warm since you've been gone. >> has it? we can do repeat miri. >> yes just for today. we'll get a little bit cooler after that. 45 degrees outside right now. we're starting off with clear skies and nice warm-up once again is in the forecast. for kids at the bus stop, layers is going to be the best thing for them. 36 to 47 degrees at the bus stop this morning. with a time they're heading home, 65 degrees and you'll find those 60s area-wide around the region today. but don't get too comfortable with the 60s. we've got a chance of rain in the forecast. we will see the showers later tonight likely everyone is in bed at that point. this is 6:30 p.m. and your drive home is still good tomorrow. heading out to the christmas tree lighting. the weather will be fine. there'll be some clouds and it will be a little bit cool but you don't have to worry about the rain. now later that night around 10:00 or so, 11:30, you notice the showers moving in area-wide and we'll see them all the way through early friday morning. so at 6:30 a.m. you can still be
