students are reacting to the news. ---- and -- powerball frenzy -- the historic jackpot continues to grow -- we'll tell you how much you could win this week. we are digging for more information in a officer-involved shooting in norfolk. the hospital won't release information on the suspect's condition -- even though we have been told he's expected to survive. the situation started as a domestic dispute on land street on sunday evening. police say 58-year-old keith richardson was armed and barricaded himself in his house. hours later - as he exited his home with a gun - police used a k-9 to apprehend the suspect. richardson then shot the police dog krijger - killing the animal. police then returned fire on the suspect. 10 on your side's liz palka is live from the k-9 training center in norfolk-- with more from a local handler. tom and nicole - this is where we interviewed officer jake clark. a norfolk police k9 handler. he was not there for the stand off on land

a canton, ohio police dog was shot and killed over the weekend. jethro -- a police k9 officer, died sunday after being shot while responding to a burglary call. officials say jethro had trouble resting saturday night and had to be sedated. he died at the veterinary clinic on sunday. also - we've learned the canton police department reached out to norfolk's police department to offer their condolances. after a chilly day -- we're looking toward a cold night. it's finally feeling more like january outside -- after another touch of spring temps over the weekend. right now -- here's a live look from tower cam 10 over downtown norfolk. this is the first round of cold weather invading hampton roads this week... round two will be here within the next 36 hours. chief meteorologist don slater in the super doppler 10 weather center, anything else to go with

outside of a residence hall saturday- students say it's shocking. c20 15:27:57 "it's uneasy that they're in a lot getting robbed." robberies near old dominion university aren't unheard of - according to students. but for one to happen here - in a lot, outside residential area is a huge surprise." according to police - 20-year-old kahlia jackson, of portsmouth and 21-year-old antoine royster - an n-s-u student - robbed odu students at gunpoint -- early saturday morning. it happened in a university parking lot near killam avenue and 43rd street. c20 15:27:12 "sad to hear, i feel bad that it had to happen in my area." university police received the call shortly after 4 am -- and within 10 minutes, the suspects were reportedly detained. and no one was hurt. c20 15:27:26 "i feel good, it's good they're doing their job." a campus spokeswoman says quick police work - and the help of surveillance video- led to the swift arrests. in 2014 - o-d-u beefed up security - now, there are more than one-thousand cameras. students say - despite the armed robbery reports

gun at police. an onancock officer fired his gun-- as the suspect ran. police arrested 21-year-old nadir toppin, and they found a gunshot victim, who went to the hospital. ten minutes later --- deputies found a second shooting victim at a nearby complex. the accomack county sheriff's office is investigating with state police. elizabeth city police say a 22-year-old is out of the hospital after being shot in the arm. it happened around three yesterday afternoon on debry street. officers found several shell casings at the scene. a bullet also hit an air conditioning unit. police are still working to identify a suspect. police need your help in finding a suspect after a hampton. 10 on your side was there, as investigators checked out the scene on kecoughtan road. two men and a woman were shot there around 7-30 last night. they all went to the hospital-- and are expected to be okay. hampton police say taloni stewart stabbed a woman during a fight early yesterday morning on norwood circle. the other woman's inujuries are not life

charged with malicious wounding. a chesapeake man will spend 14 years in prison-- after a deadly fight over football. we first told you about this case at zino's bar in december 2014. chuck setchel died after he argued with other customers. witnesses say setchel threatened ronnie cisko's brother. in the security video - you see cisko head toward the exit. setchel stood up, cisko's arm went out...and he lays him flat. in court, cisko apologized and said he didn't mean to kill setchel. the judge said he understood that - but went with a higher sentence, because of cisko's long, violent criminal history. that came as a relief to chuck setchel's fiance. robin stewart/victim's fiance 10:06 justice has been served. i will miss chuck setchel, charles setchel. the love of my life, forever, i don't think there will be another one in my life but at least this way the man has a history will be behind bars for a long period of

10 on your side has confirmed: kenneth ray meeks will plead guilty in federal court on friday. in september we reported-- he received drug and weapons charges. a special agent took pictures of meeks shooting guns while trying to sell them to an undercover agent. you may remember the big bust at his home and his father kenneth matthews' home. matthews also faces charges in portsmouth. in september, we asked meeks about

with the firearms-- which could bring 10 years in prison. 20 people are dead after a bus in mexico plunged off a bridge and fell into a deep valley. 45 people were on the bus. officials say it was most likely speeding and the driver lost control when the bus went over a speed bump. two brothers in michigan arrested--- after an argument takes an unusual turn. this dash cam video from just outside detroit. the two started fighting - as one of the brothers tried to get away, the other jumped on the hood of the car. an officer driving up to the scene, turned on his patrol lights and stopped the cruiser -- that's when the wreck happened. coil says: "the officer inquired as to why would you drive down the street with a person on the hood of your car

transformed pop music. david bowie songs have been steaming online and playing over the air all day. and the british telecom communications tower in london flashed an electronic sympathy message to his fans around the world. bowie passed away after an 18 month battle with cancer. tonight, sir paul mccartney said that bowie's "star will shine in the sky forever." this symbol of fame has drawn more down to earth tributes. fans have been placing all types of memorabilia over bowie's hollywood star. many consider bowie one of the most influential musicans of the rock area. david bowie was 69. in los angeles, a farewell to grammy award-winning singer natalie cole. fans, friends, and fellow entertainers joined family at her funeral today. the band she sang with for many years performed at the ceremony-- and singer smokey robinson shared memories. cole died from congestive heart failure on new
