breaking news in virginia beach. firefighters are currently on the scene of a gas leak. they say a 420-pound propane tank is leaking on jarvis road in the pungo area. crews are working to remove the gas from the tank, they say no one has been hurt. we'll let you know-- when we have an update. more breaking news from chesapeake. a car drove into a building on south military highway, near the railroad tracks. the information is still coming in from police. we're working to learn

to learn whether charges have been filed. live in chesapeake, liz kilmer, 10 on your side police say today's raids are based on a complaint, and a year-long investigation. in july of last year, city council voted on stricter regulations for massage businesses. they had hoped to prevent any unlawful behavior at the parlors. planning commissioner adam perry helped make those changes, after people complained. new tonight, he told us: he's glad to have support from police. c1 adam perry- commissioner, chesapeake seriously, i'm happy that we live in a city that stands up and this is important to them." perry says he's curious to see what investigators found today. besides sunny spa and harmony massage, investigators searched four other businesses. they include pure massage, massage elite, asian dream massage and time massage. find our previous report about massage parlors, and the city's effort to regulate them by looking

breaking news from west africa al-qaida has hit an upscale hotel in burkina faso. there have been reports of gunfire and explosions. they have taken hostages, and forced others into hiding. c-n-n reports some of the hostages have been freed. it says the u-s military has troops nearby, and they may help french authorities if need be. new tonight. virginia beach delegate scott taylor says he's running for congress. he hopes to win representative scott rigell's soon-to-be empty seat. taylor made the official announcement on the john fredericks radio show this morning. this is video from a previous interview with taylor. the former navy seal also been considering a run for lieutenant governor in 20-17. rigell said he would not be running for re-election. the latest move following a court ruling to redraw local congressional districts. fellow republican randy forbes from the 4th district is calling people to say he's will probably jump, to run for rigell's seat in the

"we need your help". that's the message police have for residents about fighting crime in newport news. it was the focus of a news conference, called to discuss a double homicide-- and rise in crime. since christmas, police say they've investigated six homicides- including three on thursday. the chief says neighbors gave officers information that led them to the suspects of a double murder at 14th and wickham. he says it's rare to get that kind of help, but they need more of it. going to put more police out thereand we're going to uphold our side of the bargain we would plead with the community help us lets partner in doing this ." 14:40:51 myers says the extra patrols started tonight, and the city manager has freed up money to use for overtime.

not enough food, water or adequate shelter. that's what virginia beach police say they found at an illegal hog farm. new year's eve, officers say they found more than 100 animals living on city property off salem road. they say the owner did not manage their waste properly either, and one dead animal was not buried. gary morris senior faces animal cruelty charges in this case. his family says he was caring for his sick wife at the time. police k-9s across hampton roads will soon get an added layer of protection. it's partly thanks to a donation from c-n-n's anderson cooper, we first reported last night. this comes nearly a week after a suspect shot and killed norfolk police k-9, krijger, in the line of duty. 10 on your side's joe fisher has more on the donation to the virginia beach-based charity tonight. hours apart to api and christopher. they get six feedings of formula a day. the zoo is next to lafayette park on granby street in norfolk. coast guardsmen in north carolina helped put more than 100 sea turtles back in the wild. this is video from the cutter, "cushing" . on thursday, they dropped the animals into the gulf stream off of the outer banks. many of the sea turtles had been recovering from cold-related issues. national recognition for one of the men who helped save seven people from a sinking boat. in july, captain justin wylie and his crew picked them up near the ocean view fishing pier in norfolk. waves overwhelmed the boat, and the owner told us it started sinking quickly. there was a pregnant woman and two children on board. next week, wylie tells us he will receive a national safety award from the passenger vessel association. a boy who was born without an arm, is using
