across hampton roads in the last 36 hours. 10 on your side's matt gregory is live from norfolk with details about the most recent shooting. neighbors told me they heard around five shots in rapid fire. then people ran off. back here ath operations the norfolk police investigation continues to find out who was shot and why. this is the 7th shooting for hampton roads in 48 hours. according to police, someone shot a man and left him near the corner of barre and pollard street. detectives focused their investigation around that area. investigators conducted interviews with neighbors. one said they saw people running from the area after the shots were fired. police have not said the man's age, but he was taken to the hosptial with serious injuries. the most recent victim during a rash of shootings across hampton roads. an unsettling wake up call at the the virginia beach ocean front, in the early morning hours. brian sloggie / woken by gunshots c0025 6:56 "when you hear

expect some lane closures along interstate 64 this week. single lane closures between the colonial williamsburg exit and jefferson avenue will happen between 8 each night until 5 the following morning. these closures will go through thursday. this is part of the i-64 widening process. speaking of cars - gas prices are up over the past two weeks... the first significant rise since june last time last year. the main cause of the increase was the bump in crude oil prices-- the jump was two times as much as the rise in retail gasoline. because of this... prices at the pump may be pushed up even more... unless oil costs drop quickly. an increased demand for american gasoline also influenced the price hike. here locally the average gas prices across hampton roads is about 1- dollar-57 cents a gallon - the lowest price is 1-42.

first lady - nancy reagan is dead at the age of 94. a spokesperson says she died from congestive heart failure... the news broke earlier today... nancy reagan is most known for her 'just say no to drugs' and her dedication to charity work. rene marsh looks back on her incredible life. nancy reagan once said, "my life really began when i married my and me. we completed each other." she was born anne frances robbins in new york in 1921. her parents were separated, and when she was seven, her mother married a chicago neurosurgeon named loyal davis...who later adopted her. she studied acting in college, and in 1949 signed a contract with m-g-m....but her career nearly ended before it began when her name appeared on a list of suspected communist sympathizers. hoping to help, a friend

sergeant woody slate. slate was badly hurt after serving in afghanistan. he did a series of dives in the euphrates and tigris rivers - where he got several injuries. he ended up getting compartment syndrome - which caused him to lose both of his legs. the new home features special adaptations to help with wheelchair access. his wife is very grateful for the new home. sandra slate/wife 15.19.28 its amazing gift, there are no words to describe how thankful we are. 32 homes for troops gave the family their new home - they work with injured soldiers from across the country.

following for more than a week. last saturday rookie police officer, ashley guindon was shot to death in prince william county. guindon was on the first day of the job - when she was shot to death while responding to a domestic argument in woodbridge. people in springfield, massaschusetts are honoring guindon. this is video from a wake earlier this afternoon - her funeral is tomorrow in west springfield. she was 28 years old. hundreds of people came together to remember greg police officer who is now facing a murder charge. before the memorial - 50 people walked to honor his life. those who knew him say gunn would have wanted a peaceful walk rather than the violent outbursts seen in other cities. the attorney for former taliban prisoner, army sergeant bowe bergdahl, wants to meet with donald trump. on the campaign trail, trump has been calling bergdahl a traitor. bergdahl was held captive for five years before his release in 20-14 --

return. but bergdahl is now charges... for leaving his unit in afghanistan before his capture. a letter to trump yesterday, saying he wants to interview trump about those statements. carolina. governor pat mccrory is reminding people to have an emergency plan in place. this wednesday schools and government buildings across the state will practice tornado drills. last year, there were nine tornadoes in north carolina - more than 130 cases of flash flooding and hundreds of severe thunderstorms. all those weather events caused more than 12-million dollars in damage. heavy rain flooded the streets of northern california. this video was taken off of wilderness loop in linda, about 40 miles north of sacramento. the heavy rain is needed in northern california as the area has been in a severe drought for past several years. the rain is forecasted to continue falling on sunday and into monday morning. we have two breaking news just into the wavy newsroom... the first - we have just learned a call just came into the newsroom for a shooting - on lead street in norfolk. within the last 10 minutes. police found a person

organization of islamic cooperation. the three diplomats signed a memorandum of understanding on training and education cooperation. the organization of islamic cooperation was founded in 1969 to be a collective voice of the muslim world. it's one of the largest international organizations with 56 member states in africa, asia, europe and south america. the italian coast guard rescued 13 migrants at sea yesterday off the greek island of kos. the migrants' sinking inflatable boat was full of water last night when the coast guard boat got to it. officials say the migrants were from pakistan and afghanistan. the italian coast guard is operating in greece as part of the european union's border force, frontex. the number of migrants and refugees arriving in italy and greece has risen sharply since the start of this year compared to the same period in 2015. the number of dengue fever cases in brazil has also surged since the beginning of this

concerns about the possibility of a major dengue outbreak. brazil's health ministry says in the first five weeks of the year, cases of dengue fever were up 46 percent compared with the same period last year. as of february sixth, a total of 170- thousand people in the country contracted the disease. the virus is spread by mosquitoes. so far, there are no vaccines or drugs available to prevent or treat the infection. experts say the most effective way to prevent the disease is to practice good health places with stagnant water - breeding grounds for mosquitoes. families of those who were aboard malaysia airlines flight m-h-370 attended a ceremony today to mark the second anniversary of the jet's disappearance. the families appealed to authorities to keep searching for the plane. they released white balloons tagged with the names of everyone aboard the plane and the words "m-h-370: always remembered in our hearts." an ongoing search in the southern indian ocean has
