6:08 pm
getting is actually fighting a fire that we don't normally fight has given him experience doing that plus to seeing how all different agencies coordinate with each other we work with the military so closely so to bring everybody together is his sad great opportunity to spend time together and work out the kinks now just as they did in april two thousand and twelve when it happened for real and oceania fa eighteen hornet fighter jet crashed into an apartment complex upper neck road forty units were destroyed but somehow nobody was hurt or killed. oh she as captain credits training like this without that training without that communication between the city in the navy. i don't show the results would've been the same because the response was incredible the hope is of course they'll never again need to put this kind of training to actual years but military operations have their hazards and it's good to be ready just in case my getting

6:11 pm
proposed projects like expanding teacher bt because oil prices are plummeting and the wholesale gas taxes are falling short of their projections that the state level were down about twenty percent because of the production from where it was but they're almost fifty percent in the region. lane is proposing adding tolls to hov lanes along i sixty four turning them into so called hot lanes every time we get someone off that plane is congestion. it helps relieve congestion on those lines the plan targets two stretches of i sixty four the first i five sixty four to eight to sixty four and from there down to battlefield blvd in chesapeake. lane says the price of the tolls would fluctuate based on congestion when sensors along the interstate register slowing traffic in the free lanes the price of the toll lanes increases the cave that is is a choice. hot lanes are based on the same concept as the express lanes on i ninety five in northern virginia
6:12 pm
the reduced travel times by up to twenty percent but some drivers here in hampton roads remain skeptical given the traffic in hampton roads quicker it doesn't happen well it will take several months for the plane an organization to complete a feasibility study on the stalls right now there are no plans to bring these hot lanes to the peninsula erik ainge thirteen years now. alright usually start with radar but there's nothing on it we got a lot to talk about so let's go right to the timeline with the storm mainly clear this evening becoming partly cloudy by late tonight storm still not here yet farm warning system approaches from the south and west with increasing clouds mixed precipitation or snow starts to move in some of the far south western counties and then by tomorrow afternoon mix precipitation or snow gradually increases a little bit of a snow or more of a mix and with rain in it likely at the coastline
6:13 pm
carolina then the warmer air mixes and tomorrow during the evening and overnight much of the precipitation will change to rain here for the seven cities except for northern and western parts of the area winds will increase twenty to thirty with higher gusts and then friday night very windy heavy rain continues minor tidal flooding wind gusts over fifty mph potentially saturday rain to a mix of late like more like evening for the metro rain mix over the snow though farther north and west minor flight of tidal flooding still possible saturday night sunday snow likely in most areas still windy with higher tides as well. here's what i'd put together all the different maps some that i thought were very good and this is the first one just through tomorrow at seven p m a trace born in south side one to three for northern western areas three to six over richmond and still be adding up quickly after seven pm giving us a grand total
6:14 pm
sixteen inches in richmond five to eight from east of richmond back down through around the williamsburg area for rita five on the peninsula one to three in the south side again the timing is a mix to some rain back to snow but those are the bottom line numbers once we're completely done with the event so here goes the timing again now that we just showed on the timeline that changeover from snow back to rain and then back to snow again and only some sleep i'm a tiny bit worried some of the areas like west point center could have maybe even william parker have a little bit of freezing rain on top of everything before we get that changeover this is what has the best shot at bringing us here in the metro area the snow again and the accumulations and that would be during the night saturday night and into sunday so tonight twenty seven partly cloudy by late tonight mid twenties and one tomorrow. mostly cloudy in the morning and cold and then the mix starts to develop a rain snow mix depending on
6:15 pm
north and west tomorrow evening tomorrow night wet and windy still a mixer some snow farther north and west and with us on a saturday even sunday we'll be talking about some lingering light snow probably everywhere even maybe down into north carolina and write this stuff we're tracking that whether day or night and there's a lot to track so before you head out the door tomorrow morning check in with thirteen is now at day break starting at four thirty but hang on scott has more cool stuff to talk about having a nice thought that the admirals have been bringing up the rear most of the season in the echl but they've turned things around just in time for another pink in the rink night this saturday night of course and scope this was last year's pink in the ring so you know it looks like it's a little muddled but it's pink it's of course raises awareness for the fight against breast cancer since the start of two thousand and sixteen the amazon one seven and two they should get plenty of support to saturday night as
