moisture out into center tortoise now all of this is not reaching the ground in fact there's probably not a lot of it that is that i would guess there are a few spots that a little bit of a brief shower you can see in some of the slightly heavier areas up here across a little bit more northern areas up towards richmond. maybe a little bit approaching cape charles but overall out of this is evaporating first and later tonight is the moisture moves and temperatures will only be down near forty and we won't see a lot of rain everywhere isn't going to get rain at nine eleven and again at one but there will be isolated showers across the area and just like yesterday it's leave it in a number of spots with temperatures just about like that. same thing could happen again later tonight with those kind of readings it's not going to cause any kind of problems though for the people out on the road so that's the good news and then we have a really cold seven day forecast to discuss my

who you voted the best. drag a little bit of rain on radar again from what we can judge looking at the various observations not all of this is even making it down to the ground we had a couple have your pockets. earlier here over gloucester those have now moved back up a little closer places like cobbs creek cobbs creek lane up toward blake's ridge road amber nothing really heavy so again we have a little bit more out west right now temperature of forty three degrees humidity of sixty five so you would think anything that falls would strictly have only chances at being rain and in general you'd be right but in this kind of a setup with cold air just like yesterday that anything we see tonight could have a few sleet pellets mixed in or maybe even a couple only snowflakes so easily wins right now at eight mph keeping things again but chilly time lapse from early this morning when the clouds going first thing
4:16 pm
that changes late in the day which is interesting to notice they start going right to left shows you a shifting winds in the upper atmosphere and we're going to have that tonight as the low pressure area swings across the region right now warmer upper forties to near fifty back in line but anywhere here right near the coastline is generally in the lower to mid forties he get a couple of upper forties when she get more in the mike in portsmouth fifty one wakefield fifty one down in even ten couple things that are overseas right now generally as we said not reaching the ground so they are not here on future cast but a little bit later tonight. every so often some of this moisture comes and some of it will reach the earth's surface some of that will not evaporate first and with an evaporating that also cools the atmosphere often that's why even though most of what we see and we're not going to get a lot but most of the isolated showers tonight will be rain showers but we can't rule out as we said just like yesterday a little bit of every so often
4:17 pm
something mixing in during the day tomorrow temperatures rebounding back up into the mid to upper forties and again. any slight chance of a shower tomorrow also would include the chance for a few ice pellets and really more the same tomorrow night. by wednesday temperatures remaining rather below normal and they get colder and colder in the seven day there's this huge storm spinning around and you can see that sort of mixed bag of precipitation rotating here through the mid atlantic but a forecast from our calls for forty five degrees for today it was that it would be quite breezy in the morning actual wind gusts at the airport were measured at twenty five twenty four twenty four over three consecutive hours. that certainly is quite breezy in my books of thirteen straight forecast there were spot on thirty seven then tonight isolated showers with a little bit of a very light makes possible. most people certainly are not going to see much precipitation at all tomorrow very bleak cloudy
4:18 pm
showers again not much moisture. there's a slight chance to spew areas could have a little bit of a light next minus thirty y o mostly cloudy and upper twenty s inland and then the seven day forecast isolated showers tomorrow with a thirty percent risk for any one community fifteen percent chance on wednesday and look the ratings go down down down then they stabilize in the mid upper thirties for a day or so a few days and then on valentine's day really cold a good day to snuggle up with your sweetie is that we'll be in the twenties for most of the day i thank you what makes a friendly face off janet their goal is to raise money to help sick

however chief meteorologist geoff lawson has more on this evening's temperatures rather than to be chilly and we had won back to clouds move over with a couple of sprinkles that mainly didn't reach all the way down the ground evaporated first here then we should be a little bit of clearing our new batch moving in the distance you can see helped a little thicker looks like some of that rain is indeed reaching the ground and that's what we're looking at right here so again from hampton. we were looking west with some clearing farther west. that's the batch in which around here across sussex import areas of emporia that is now heavy enough that it's moisten up the atmosphere it looks like it is indeed reach all the way down to the earth's surface that's here near eighty five i ninety five corridor but moving in a north easterly direction so around stony creek back toward little mill just very light precipitation temperatures out there right now a little bit milder than yesterday. the family motto for watching from northeast north carolina but for most of the metro area. they're
4:25 pm
if that but later tonight we're going to see temperatures not dropping very much only into the upper thirties to near forty depending on your location that's why anything that does fall tonight that maybe gets a little bit of a mix and it should have to worry any body and again it's also going to be so like isolated and then tomorrow we remain chilly and after that i'm talking even colder temperatures we have some of the coldest air we've seen in awhile here coming up in my extended forecast all have more right jeff thanks so much time for traffic in the eye with a castle and the thank you very much. you know what it's one of those days where it's not that bad out there not to the delays i am watching are starting to kind of thing out so i say that i was little hesitation hopefully it stays that way but right now it's not looking back that the peoria had it been so slow down just a little bit will talk about where he will slow down you
4:26 pm
lot of green and that the we like to see and then at the beginning of the show i mentioned some delays in hampton that was really watching because it looked like the delay on six sixty four headed for sixty four was really building up to take a look at our camera like teaching a bit of improvement here. now we still have slowed traffic i want to be able to see that six sixty four northbound hadn't won sixty four west but notice it's not as severe as it was before probably about a mile of traffic of anything. also watch often some activity here on the shoulder i could possibly be a breakdown or something that may just be careful but all the lanes are open as you head toward sixty four on the traffic network mass a few other delay still working at slight delays newport news us up at six sixty four south of the oven and allow delays in newport news on both sides of sixty four between jefferson and for use this as we zoom out you can see flight delays around the bridges and tunnels as well but that is that as of right now i'll keep an eye on things for you check facebook and twitter make sure nothing else pops up and i'll be right back in just a few minutes right here on thirty is now ashleigh thank you the latest on that amber

4:30 pm
when it comes to hampton roads and the importance of having that see how some services committee on i still feel like i'm being represented by reinforcing one thing that we do need to think about here regarding the district lines re forms was about nine miles from virginia beach and when he served on the fourteenth senate district included precincts in virginia beach we're not talking talking to strangers in strange land here at virginia beach chesapeake bay and they'd have lots of partnerships and work together quite often so i think that that comment by scott taylor particularly since he moved into the eighty fifth district in order to run as a delicate as a little bit disingenuous to the republicans want to see this fight now. now not all the republicans don't want to see this fight this is something that again. um i hate calling taylor drop out of the race and he's certainly one of if he wants to but it isn't the best interests of the republican party to have someone that strong leadership particularly as we've lost

listed as a dangerous structure. feel the rain showers came moving to on radar here over the past hour i think most of those have been evaporating before they hit the ground now though some of the darker areas probably starting to see a little bit of moisture down at the earth's surface. some of the stuff up there she can see on the eastern shore definitely starting to feeling a little bit same thing there across parts of the northern neck and get back out into center virginia and what was a little bit of the darker coloring starting now to turn to light green so that's going to continue to be the case we're going to see some stuff filtering through every once in awhile someone will reach the ground some of that water will certainly look worse on radar and actually does in terms of the weather conditions at then we're going to say dropping only a few degrees were in the lower forties will drop back to thirty eight at the lowest most of us will be about thirty nine forty a few very isolated showers and again mainly light rain showers one or two
4:42 pm
of sleet mixing in just like we did yesterday in some locations. notice those temperatures again notp falling very much in the rain that surround sorta hit and miss some of the very light variety more than a couple one hundredths of an inch if that for most of us and then as we get into tomorrow i think most of that precipitation is one attended move out but there's enough instability in the atmosphere that will see some clouds popping up at times and a few isolated showers and believe it or not even tomorrow especially if it's early in the morning or later in the evening when it's not quite is mild other forty seven mile compared to freezing it is which is what you typically think of winter precipitation we can even add a couple of isolated showers again of sort of a mixed variety at times tomorrow and then tomorrow night another very weak system comes in is this main lohse sits out here to take awhile to get rid of it it's just going to bring these little impulses every so often across the region
4:43 pm
but never give us a great shot of any kind of steady precipitation said white thirty seven a few isolated showers a little bit of a light mix is possible but certainly not likely for most of us tomorrow. forty five very bleak cloudy and again just isolated showers and isolated shower at least has a slight chance of having a little bit of a mix in with that at times my thirty two mostly cloudy upper twenties inland areas that probably is one of the better chances for some mixed precipitation but it's farther north at this point we think and then on wednesday fifteen percent chance still a stray flurry or sprinkle forty two for the high thursday only thirty seven similar temperatures friday lows well down into the twenties and then as we head for saturday thirty seven for the high but only thirty one on valentine's day for sunday and that's the day we have another system looks like starting to approach us
