passing a norfolk right now but up from the little kid and saw a lot of this is rain with some snow flakes mixing in the northern neck more likely to see some snow and then over to the eastern shore really maryland's eastern shore. so far for most of reaching it's been mainly rain and of course rain down across north carolina so that's a quick look there at one or more interfaces with our sky cameras will be taking a look you with our sky views all across the region throughout thirteen years now daybreak right now overcast for norfolk again the rain is coming down thirty nine degrees in the windsor north northeast at eighteen mph winds are just starting just starting to increase down across north carolina we're going to see the winds increasing renewable wind advisory for coastal areas this morning so while we've had the winter weather advisories off to the north and west were going to do mainly with rain it's going to be to the middle part of the day but even through the afternoon to three o'clock wind advisories are up for coastal areas and we're going to see winds
4:40 am
forty and maybe even fifty mph gusts to thirty nine winds increasing and we are so high surf advisory tides will build as well. at this point we're not expecting a major title issues or anything like that in my piece of news instead of flooding a few spots temperatures right now above freezing for most areas richmond thirty one thirty to ten points title in ninety five little colder but again temperatures through the afternoon close to forty three for norfolk will see mid forties round suffolk and virginia beach again that could be a couple of what snowflakes far in linen off to the north here to see the chances of a broader ban and sunny bank mouth overfishing if he could see some wet snowflakes but again mainly rain for the peninsula and the lower part of the eastern shore and then down to the saudi can see rain and wind will be the issue of a back full forecast in just a bit good news for the weekend partly sunny tomorrow and temperatures warming up significantly later into next

the midtown tunnel with ashley i just wanted to show you the midtown tunnel because on this camera you can really make out that the roads are slick and wet this morning going to be the focus for the dr take your time leave home in enough time to get where you're going safely but as you can see traffic not really the issue at the midtown on a second camera traffic is also not the issue in norfolk on to sixty four west of the outside of lincoln military highway. but you can clearly make out a big tractor trailer accident right now with others trying to pull the tractor trailer out of the ditch but at this point it's still very much they are the right lane is blocked as well as the on ramp from military highway two to sixty four west a plan to take another route this morning coming up next an update here in a live look around naval station norfolk right ashleigh thank you and then there were four minutes remaining gop candidates met for a heated debate last

4:47 am
clear lake the day a good looking weekend in store but it still take it's going to be very windy and chilly to today and certainly wet this morning some potential still for some snow farther north and west. just wanted to start up to look at the weather alerts and i'd talk to wakefield early as you guys can be dropping these repair these down and they may be doing this because most of the areas that were seeing snow earlier actually seeing a transition back to rain as you can see that we give three areas that are highlighted in different colors this area in pink under winter storm warning through noon today that doesn't enrichment up to tap my hand and they were looking at the potential for a few inches of snow in some of those areas again there were some snow earlier but we have seen a transition to rain in some of this area we had a winter weather advisory out around wakefield early this morning they had about an inch of snow on the ground that there's a transition back to rain the rain can wash that stuff away so many folks not waking up to a lot of snow on the ground that there were some wet
4:48 am
more of a change to rain again this does include james city county williamsburg this area shaded in blue under winter weather advisory for the area shaded in red this is northampton on the eastern shore. i you can see around hampton and to coast and back down through the portsmouth area norfolk virginia beach and down into current as we do have wind advisories that will be in place until three o'clock this afternoon that's one thing that were deathly looking at as a system moves by and it crosses not sure who to tighten up with the wins coming in from the north gusting perhaps as high as forty two even fifty mph so it's going to become quite windy later today there's been a lot of rain across the area in some snow off to the north but a lot of this stuff starting to mix i think even that rain snow line may be pushing a little farther to the north still tear up from the northern neck in the middle potentially give that potential for some more wintry weather early this morning. it is going to keep moving though as we head to the middle part of the day it
4:49 am
in the afternoon still most excited because clearing and one in the north winds again cranking up especially near the coast as we go to the overnight ferry gets a little bit nicer for skies will clear out still windy this evening winds can gust of thirty or thirty five mph this evening but as we go past midnight and early tomorrow the winds ease up and we should enjoy a partly sunny day pierce added a really looking forward to a nice one there late saturday night into early sunday as possible we could see a few showers pushing through it again this is early sunday morning that that moves out and most of sunday should be fine temperatures actually warming up a bit as far as rainfall totals we could see about an inch or so in some spots most years to happen is to image the next little shop there you see sunday night some more spotty showers as you can see the temperatures are going to be generally above freezing most areas upper thirties to now even some low forties for southside into northeast
4:50 am
here along i ninety five but even west point health and wallets at or a little bit above freezing you look at low to mid thirties there's a not too bad. winds will increase down to the south we've already had some gas around dock pier close to the winds increasing later today. here's a quick look at the airport conditions north northeast winds eighteen mph seven day forecast to see the rain moving out by midday and again there's some potential for mixers know far far to the north and off to the northwest but we will see improvements. look for the windy conditions later today tonight slow thirty five forty eight tomorrow and fifty one on sunday. do people see a few showers overnight saturday night into sunday early morning and then improvements later on looking good through the middle and end of next week. upper sixties hang in there folks here's ashley. all right craig got a quick live look around naval station norfolk on five sixty four weapons give you that live look now just to see how things are shaping up out there the shot just past terminal traffic still moving well no major
4:51 am
