joining us on thirteen years now daybreak on joe flanagan news weather sports and a whole lot more coming your way over the next two hours first it is time for your week of weather forecasts yeah well it's going to be a new day dawning at least over hampton roads take a look at this gorgeous sunrise over the virginia beach oceanfront those clear conditions are going to stick around for most of the day but you may need an umbrella later on meteorology station scott tracking a chance for showers later tonight or morning i showed how is your morning so far and going pretty good the mornings now good morning everybody hopefully are also good start this morning it's early but you know what we're up and were added this morning taking a look at these temperatures is pretty chilly out there we've got temperatures closer to the coast near forty degrees in norfolk where twenty five in emporia right now chesapeake smith failure right at the freezing mark at thirty two degrees with thirty nine right now in virginia beach the morning to you and along the outer banks and into northeastern north

below freezing and gates but twenty six and allows the city at twenty eight so here's a look at the winds yesterday was pretty windy out there we had some gusts up to about forty mph in spots and we are going to see those windy conditions today so that's good news the winds already calming down and have been overnights with the clear skies in the calm winds that really help those temperatures to fall. we do have some high clouds pushing offshore and a little bit farther to the west right along ninety five chord or so here is hired they will shape up over the next twelve hours will see a lot of sunshine this morning heading to about lunchtime and then will start to see partly cloudy skies. increasing clouds as we head through the afternoon temperatures will be chilly for this time of the year and the mid forties by this afternoon we should be in the mid fifties almost ten degrees below normal i am tracking so much warmer conditions in the seventy forecasts but also chances for rain as we head into the second half of the weekend talk about that in just a few minutes john all right thanks a show

the last month there was a special moment at the virginia zoo two tiger cubs were born. caring for them was a special job it's all about the veterinarian technician in the land cubs are just seven weeks old will totally steal the show on this week's june's job i was training with potentially a rocker who's been here the virginia zoo for eleven years now. first order of business was bringing the two brother comes down to the fitting room for lunch and for them it's bottle time because they were only born back on january six and seven by the way my birthday is january seven. can you imagine doing this for a job at school at the core job and her outfit the night walk out and see a tiger or ella and tyler lyons all the different

be able to work on all of them it's amazing how many times do you get to feed living breathing malayan were not initially accepted by their mother at the zoo so the staff had to take over the job of hand feeding them with bottles these are what they call critically endangered malayan tiger cubs born right here at the virginia zoo last month so not something that occurs very often there's less than three hundred of them in the world so it's a very unique opportunity for us which were really trying to share with our visitors bring visitors in close and yes the zoo is really the program the system it's very accommodating to the public they can see and hear everything from right outside the vet hospitals window weekends there are hundreds of people out here watching the feedings was also a very simple the design and build the few who doesn't like baby animals right down there and about fifty five days being
