the normal two thousand and no affordable housing complex opened in virginia beach today. local officials hope it will help people in need get off the streets mayor wells essence tweeted this picture of the ribbon cutting at crescent square apartments on diamond springs road norfolk mayor paul frame also attended the ceremony the complex as eighty apartments forty two units are dedicated for people who were homeless. the rest of the units are for families who make less than twenty five thousand dollars a year virginia's senators are working to solve homelessness in the commonwealth senators mark warner and tim kaine announced more than twenty three million dollars in funds coming to virginia that money is part of a grant from the u s department of housing and urban development hampton roads will get the second is this the biggest chunk of the money and more than six million dollars northern virginia will receive nine million the money will help fund shelters and outreach programs closing u s military bases to try and save money

energy game the pentagon's push to close military bases continues tonight. one of the defense department's top leaders renewed the call while on a visit to dayton offered the plan could save billions of dollars but as my coding reports there's not much support for prac in congress. the number two civilian leader the pentagon comes to the world's largest naval base and defends the idea of base closings saying they're necessary for cost savings for the fifth straight year pentagon leaders are seeking approval to close bases they've included language in the twenty seven team defense bill requesting authorization to launch a new round of brac the last time the base realignment and closure commission met in two thousand and five the panel closed for monroe and tried to move and a soc and as jen operations to cecil field florida. we absolutely think of practice. absolutely but we have what we consider about twenty to twenty three or twenty five percent excess
