the swing, the backwards hat, the video game, he was a national star, but he is the cincinnati kid, and tonight, becomes the first red since barry larkin to enter the hall of fame. junior was elected into the baseball hall of fame within the last hour, and in doing so, he becomes the first ever number one overall pick, to make the hall of fame. he was not a unanimous pick, as some thought he could be, but the kid, for what he did in seattle and cincinnati, will go down in history as one of the greatest players in baseball. 24-year- old...thomas stidhum... police say he was the man behind the wheel on december 6th when he drove up onto the sidewalk and hit 57-year- chatfield who was annual seven hills run. but why did police release his 1bruce "we suspected him early on. we did not want him to know we were looking for him plus we had to get some other evidence together.." stidham has a criminal past...his rap sheet littered with drug and alcohol charges..as well as convictions for obstructing official business...and...reck motor vehicle. 3bruce "mr. stidham not only fled the scene, he took the time and removed the license plate from the car and then run away. he didn't render any aid to the victim. just was trying to get away. so, it was a horrific crime." stidham is in more trouble...now facing charges including aggravated vehicular homicde...tampering with evidence and failure to stop after an accident 1joe "its probably the most callous, sorry excuse for a person, you know, that i've ever seen." joe fung says cathy was a friend, an avid runner and a coach

cincinnati... from childhood poverty to violent crime and more. and today leaders from police, city government and the community met to develop a new plan... for a new year. fox19 now's gordon graham has the story. open-----the main goal of today's round table discussion is to start a dialog about some of the problems cincinnati faces....like gun violence and then figure out the best way to deal with them. police, city leaders and community activists came to talk about the progress that's been made since the collaborative agreement was hammered out. this video provided a sobering reminder of the violence that gripped the city back in 2001. iris roley says the collaborative agreement provides a good template on how problems can be solved. iris-----we need to make sure we institutionalize the collaborative process and we need to make sure that it's readily available. we have to do a lot of things in a lot of different areas. this is not just about policing. but policing is a big part it. cincinnati police are working on a plan to reduce gun violence and chief eliot isaac also wants to

the company has now been hit with a federal grand jury subpoena as part of a criminal investigation! the f-d-a is demanding documents from a california location where about 100 people were sickened. chipotle has responded by saying that incident was isolated... and they pledge to cooperate with the investigation. the stage is set for the bengals to take on the steelers at paul brown stadium this saturday. and as you can imagine... police are already spotting fake tickets.

chester allegedly tried to sell fake tickets to undercover police officers this week! this was him in court today. investigators say he posted an ad on craigslist... selling 2 tickets for $5- hundred dollars! he's now being held on a $2-hundred thousand dollar bond. and since the playoffs were set... local police agencies have been working on a security plan for the event. today officials from cincinnati police and the hamilton county held a press outside the they'll be working with the f-b-i and the n-f-l to keep things in order. they also have a stern warning for those trying to bring things into the stadium. wilmington police are asking for your help tonight as they deal with a rash of heroin overdoses since the new year. investigators say 12 people have overdosed since january first... including 2 who died. police think the heroin may be mixed with fentanyl or other substance to make it more potent.
