freezing will be a problem in some areas this morning. be especially cautious when traveling on untreated roads and in rural areas. happening now right now... winter storm watches are going right now... winter storm watches are going into effect for most of the mid atlantic and northeast. officials are warning people to prepare for heavy, "perhaps crippling" snow to hit. one of the places under the greatest threat...washingto n d-c...up to two feet of snow could fall there. the good news... we aren't expecting to see that much snow here at home.... but we could see some of that weather system... and road crews are already gearing up for the possible snowfall. our jordan vilines is live with all the details. live the city still has about 21-thousand tons of salt on hand as crews continue to treat primary and residential streets

snow left over from yesterday. crews have been working in 12 hour shifts since tuesday night at 7 and the next shift for these crews will begin this morning at 7 am. depending on what we see tomorrow, hamilton county road crews say their routine is pretty simple -- they plow, they salt, they wait for traffic the mechanical energy and heat of traffic to mix in the salt to the roadway. the hamitton county engineer says it's common for people to get frustrated because they feel like their street isn't getting cleared quick enough but he's advising people to be patient and if you see snow plows sitting on the side of the road, you have to remember that they aren't just sitting there... but rather, they've already salted the road and they're waiting for the mechanical energy to occur which is provided by the cars and trucks driving on the surface. live the city currently has 57 vehicles on the road preparing for tomorrow's snow event. reporting live, jrodan vilines, fox 19 now. as more winter weather heads this

onto another plane... eventually landing at c-v-g without any more issues. an investigation is underway after a driver loses control and ends up in the woods. it happened around 11:30 on i-71 northbound, near pfeiffer road. officers say there was no inclement weather or bad road conditions.. so it's unclear what caused the crash. the car was badly damaged... but the woman refused treatment. part of the interstate was blocked as crews removed the vehicle.. it's now back open. happening today today... the man and woman charged in the death of a butler county 2- year-old are due in court. and we're learning new information about the case. we've confirmed kinsley kinner's mother, rebekah kinner, testified against bradley young before a grand jury. but police say she allowed young to beat the toddler back in december. kinsley died from her injuries. kinner and young have both pleaded not guilty.. a trial date could be set today. emergency state funding is now being sent to flint, michigan to help with their water crisis...but residents are saying it's still not
