molly: most people know that music roots run deep here in nashville, tennessee. but it's not just singers and songwriters that get their big breaks here. for instance, hatch show print has been around for more than 100 years and they're known for these iconic posters promoting the likes of musical acts from elvis and the rolling stones to johnny cash. and they're designing more than 500 prints every year. celiney?: welcome to the shop, molly. molly: thanks celiney, i appreciate it! so hatch show prints started 1879. it was founded by two brothers, right? celiney: charles and herbert. molly: what was it like when they first started this print shop? my definition of printing is a lot different than celiney: letterpress printing is literally, we're using wooden metal letters and images, hand- locking them into a press, printing paper at a time, one color at a time. so process. does that take, phase all the way printing. everything at hatch is made by hand, the process itself of in/on/of the poster takes u- week. but there are that are doing printing right now want something that's a bit of history, but they don't realize what that means necessarily so we and educate them
