and i'm rob williams... let's get our first look at the forecast with meteorologist frank marzullo. winter weather advisory continues until 10am. with areas of the tri state with near 4 inches of snow on the ground and in some cases up to 5 inches the good news is the heaviest snow accumulation is now over. this morning with look at some sctd light pockets mixing in with some possible freezing drizzle but no major accumulation. temperatures starting out in the low 20s rising to near 37 degrees by day's end. this evening we look for scattered rain showers to develop into the overnight and that will bring is another chance for some freezing rain mixed in with light snow overnight as temps dip to only 31 degrees. look for more slick conditions especially in our rural areas. then rain showers on tuesday at times with highs near 40 degrees. some showers will linger into tuesday night mixing with snow with no major accumulation. however could be slick in spots wednesday morning. the good news we warm to near 60 degrees by friday!

lose traction " brake first, then turn, then accelerate. 3. don't follow behind other vehicles as closely as you would when driving in clear, dry conditions " slick roads means your vehicle cannot slow down as quickly. " increase following distances to a minimum of 5-6 seconds. " always keep open space to at least one side of your vehicle, in case you need make an emergency lane change maneuver. 4. don't use cruise control " maintain control of your car by maintaining control of all operations 5. don't hit the brakes if you start to skid " slamming on the brakes can make the skid even worse. williams remains in jail this morning. a bank robbery suspect is also due in court this morning... court documents state that 40-year- old damon draper is accused of holding up the stockyards bank in oakley last month. police say he showed a gun and took off with cash. we're told a crimestoppers tip led to the arrest. arson is not to blame for the fire that destroyed the rabbit hash general store. but fire investigators say we'll likely never learn the exact cause... flames swept through the 185- year-old building saturday night, and it was nearly destroyed. crews on scene say the fire started in the roof of the building causing it to collapse. the loss has left the community heartbroken. don clare: "it feels like losing a part of my family because this was the center of our universe" a go-fund-me account has been created to help
