benton says: "the charges involve sexual activity." on several occasions investigators say stacy hooks had sex with a student from hill gustat middle school. benton says: "the student was in this teacher's class at one point in time." hooks is a math teacher, according to administrators, but is listed as a science teacher as well on the school's website. superintendent dr. rodney hollinger said at one point over the last month, hooks was reprimanded after being observed eating lunch with students and sharing a drink with the victim. the sheriff says the ongoing relationship became even more inappropriate. benton says: "when you're a young person in middle school and you're involved with a teacher at that level, not only is it very inappropriate, but it's against the law." the highland county sheriff's report show hooks was charged thursday with five counts of lewd battery, one count of traveling to meet a minor for sex and three counts of sending

a minor. investigators say the student's mom was looking through her child's phone when she recognized the teacher's name and messages coming from her. benton says: "the mother finally found some things that she couldn't interpret or couldn't get further into and came to us for help." investigators found inappropriate texts coming from hooks to the student. it took three days for them to arrest her. in addition to teaching, hooks is also one of the directors of the after school program. now authorities are wondering...are there more victims? benton says: "they have time to try to work with the school staff, other teachers, and talk to any students who might be concerned." former subway spokesperson and convicted sex offender jared fogle is now asking for a reduced prison sentence! this was the scene as fogle appeared in an indianapolis court this weekend. originally, he was sentenced to 15- years in prison after pleading guilty to child porn and exploitation
