from independence, where crews are working to determine what caused an overnight house fire. kara dblbx our jordan vilines joins us live in independence with the breaking details. a man escaped a house fire in the 10000 block of flintrock bluff early monday, fire officials said. the scene for smoke inhalation to a hospital, they expected to recover. flames broke out just before 11 p.m. in the garage, according to the fire department. they were able to contain the blaze to the garage, but heat and smoke throughout the rest of the house. damage was set at the cause is sparked the fire remains under investigation. the man who was according to the fire department.

morning after a fiery crash in memphis...and many in the community are crediting god for saving him. it was a scary sight...the jeep completely engulfed in flames. witnesses say the car was sideswipped, pushed down a hill and into a pole. they say moments later, flames burst through the hood of the car. the man was trapped, the fire moving quickly...and it didn't look likely he would survive. "it appeared he was completely trapped in the drivers seat. the steering wheel was pressed up aganist his chest" fortunately...a bystander found a tire iron and broke through the window, and emergency crews were able to get him out to safety. the sight afterwards is what brought everyone to tears... the only thing left in the completely burned up vehicle...a bible, sitting in the front seat.
