home isn't livable.. after a giant tree crashed through it. all this rain caused the massive tree root to rise.. sending the tree right through the ceiling of sheila franklin's bathroom. we shot some video of the inside. insulation all over the place. and scary moments.. because get this. sheila's bedroom is right next to the bathroom... and her pillow... was three feet away! megan remote that's right, we were the first to break the news this afternoon...when brandon carr was still inside the police department, being questioned. it wasn't until later led out of the back of the police department here....across the parking lot and into the montgomery county jail where he has since been booked in on that murder charge. take a look... brandon carr didn't have anything to say to the camera as he was led away in handcuffs. officers tell us the 34 year-old was taken into custody earlier this afternoon at a home here in dayton. they say he went quietly...was brought in for questioning in connection to brittany russell's homicide. russell, you may remember, was shot to death inside her car here in dayton earlier this month. her young daughter, haven, was in the back seat, unharmed and being kept warm by the running vehicle. at the time, officers say the heat was the only thing that kept her alive. she was safely returned to family members. now, officers continue to tell me they aren't sure if this was a random or targeted shooting. they say they didn't find any drugs or weapons inside

vehicle...so understanding what happened and why has been a priority. sgt. richard blommel dayton homicide - 'we've been investigating this homicide that occured back on the 10th very religiously. conducting interviews and tracking down evidence. we were able to track down a second individual in that was involved in the homicide of brittany russell" megan remote as you just heard the sergeant say, this is the 2nd arrest they've made in connection with the homicide. the other suspect was taken into custody just two days after, but tonight is only facing drug charges. police plan to present more evidence against both suspects to prosecutors tomorrow morning. rl mo fox19 now/ we in the media use the phrase "worst nightmare" way too much... but this story really is a homeowner's " nightmare"... an absolute mess in liberty township tonight after a water main busted

6-thousand block of kyles station road.. near yankee road. mike schell is there... mike you for these homeowners... tricia.... they were just starting to repair the damage caused break on january 28th.. and now...its back to square one.. nat grinding a butler county water department crew went right to work to plug the leak that flooded several homes... it was the second on this line in less than a month.. doug mulcock was to hang some dry wall after the first flood... 1doug "brand new. it was in the garage ready to be put up tomorrow. now that's destroyed and i have to start all over again. doug's new furnance and water heater are also both damaged as is the new car he got after the first one was totaled by the flood waters.. 2doug it even still has temporary tags on it, huh? yes, the car only has somewhere right around a hundred miles on it." after the water main break in january...the county started to

they are investigating 21 allegations made against 12 fraternities and sororities. we don't know the specifics.. except miami said today they don't tolerate hazing. we do know the allegations happened in the last 3 weeks during the fraternity "new-member" process. the school says there have been no suspensions so far. we will continue to follow this story. an ohio trucker will spend the next seven years behind bars. christopher thornhill was sentenced today after pleading guilty to killing a man while thornhill was texting.. behind the wheel of his semi. the crash happened in january on i-71 in boone county--where investigators say thornhill ran off the interstate--hit a parked car--then crossed back over and ran head on into mark sevilla suh-villa . sevilla died instantly. today--savilla's family faced thornhill in a

"he's paying for what he did. whether it's long enough...he could be there for 100 yearsa and it's not bringing mark back." the victims in the crash have filed civil suits against thornhill--and his trucking company. police are treating the death of a 26- year old inmate at the lebanon correctional facility.. a homicide. the warren county coroner's office is doing an autopsy on luther wade. authorities say wade died during an altercation with another inmate. the weapon used? they think a rock or stone from the cell. u-c police have alerted students about what it's calling a "sexual offense" they say happened on february 5th inside an academic building at 3 a-m. police say the victim was a student who saw the man several times during the fall 2015 semester. they describe him as white, 5-foot-10, 18-20 years old.. with a thin build, shoulder length brown hair and rectangular

transplant.. and today.. we met the man with a new lease on life. "nats of clapping" 50-year old david waits of hillsboro got the transplant on february 2nd. he'd been waiting for a heart since october... and was relying on a mechanical heart pump to keep him alive. it all started with a massive heart attack in december of 2014. at today's news conference, waits said ??? "you've gotta have a lot of patience to wait.. laughter.. 140 days in the hospital. that's a long long time. you gotta have a lot of patience. nurses and doctors that want to talk to you through." david's wife of 25 years.. carol.. says it was an amazing sight to see everyone clapping for him when he took his first steps after surgery. time to check in with the tri-state's weather expert.. chief
