inside the goshen police department is over tonight. after three years of investigating--no one can answer the main question: how did it happen? invesitgative reporter jody barr is in goshen tonight--with why prosecutors closed this case today. the reason is--they don't know what exactly happened--how this evidence went missing--or who's responsible. that's why--just today--the prosecutor sent this statement out--saying there isn't enough evidence to charge anyone. it's turned out to be one of the biggest mysteries in goshen's government center. how did $18,000 in drugs, cash and money orders--slip out of the most secure room in this department?
6:47 pm
couldn't figure it out-- and the hamilton county sheriff's office re- investigated--and couldn't solve the mystery, either. when we interviewed clermont county prosecutor vincent faris last fall--he knew there was a real chance this case might never be solved. barr: "if the second investigation comes back...no one's ever charged in this case...was it simply because finding whoever's responsible for this, just could not be found?" faris: "i don't know...maybe nobody's responsible for anything...it could be recordkeeping. we'll see what the second investigation says." faris wrote in a statement today--"based on the deficiency in the available evidence"...investiga tors could not find the probable cause to charge anyone. that means--this case is closed and

we reached out to two goshen cops who were interviewed and polygraphed in the state's investigaiton. neither would agree to interview for this report--and neither would the county prosecutor. the good news: the prosecutor says there's a new eviedence tracking system in place here--and that--as the prosecutor wrote--"should alleviate any further issues." weather now animation you're looking at footage from the police memorial in queensgate. well it started with the snow... and believe it or not... this sight is gonna feel like a distant memory this weekend right matt? matt weather light to moderate snow continues across the tri- state. a winter weather advisory is in effect for the majority of our counties in kentucky where
