of the situation when it happened. according to sheriff richard jones.. two 14-year old boys had knowledge that the suspect, james austin hancock, had the gun at school and didn't tell anyone. both are now charged with failure to report a crime, a misdemeanor of the 4th degree. and three more students are in the butler county juvenile detention center tonight for what sheriff jones calls 'bad decisions'. a 12 and 15-year old student from edgewood city schools have been charged with making terroristic threats. while a 15-year old madison local school student is charged after police say he brought knives disguised as credit cards in to school. all these charges are felonies. new information tonight on the mother police say lied about her newborn being missing in a stolen car! in court today, 28- year old na'cole benton's lawyer says that she never indicated that the child was in the car. but the 9-1-1, obtained just hours ago by fox19 now, suggests

stole my car. i started it to put my kids in it and they stole it. dispatcher: your kids are not in the car, right? caller: uh, my baby is in her car seat. dispatcher: your baby is in the car? caller: yes. dispatcher: oh my gosh." benton has been charged with making false alarms, inducing obstructing official business. she got a 20 thousand dollar a couple underage suspects connected to the being charged. today we spoke exclusively with one of the teenagers who says he was inside that stolen car. the car was reported stolen yesterday morning from na'cole benton's home. it ultimately crashed near western hills high schools. four people were taken into custody. one of them - 15- year-old c.j. thomas. "he took them on a high speed chase" ... "just pull over and get out." but actually... he says he's innocent. we'll explain why and play the message his school

family after the incident... straight ahead. and right now.. new information on the story we broke on the fox19 now mobile app today. an e-m-t from indiana who went missing late last month has now been charged with stealing over 100 thousand dollars from his job. police say he dissapeared after he was confronted about the missing funds. folks we talked to in the town say they are devasted. craig whitham went missing on february 22nd. police believe his disapearance has to do wth the missing money from his job at the aurora emergecy rescue where he was the treasurer. tonight he's budget. over 100 thousand dollars. it's devastating i know that person personally and he has dedicated his life to the city which is why the accusations hurt so much. whitham has been an emt for he was promoted police tell us he

secretly steal 106 thousand dollars. he was able to hide the theft through another account associated with aurora emergency resue until it was discovered by its president. ed opp who is very disappointed. personally, employees, or volunteers are devastated. just wouldn't have thought this person would have done this to us police tell fox 19 now that whitham admitted that he had a gambling problem and spent the money betting at local casinos. the budget at emergency rescue is around 200 thousand dollars. its a small organization that is there to help the citizens of arurora and stole 106 thousand dollars of their money which is more than half their operating budget for the year this is not whitham's first run in with the law.

from the crash last december when police say 42- year old thomas stidhum crashed into 57 year old catherine chatfield before fleeing the scene. now, the new charges, are connected to a separate crash that happened just a month prior. police say stidhum was clocked going more than 95 miles an hour on state route 126, before exiting at hamilton avenue. that's when they say he crashed into a stopped car and took off on foot. he is now charged with operating under the influence of marijuana, driving under suspension and obstruction of official business. the man accused of robbing the key bank downtown, is now behind bars. according to police, 37-year old bruce canaris, bank on east thursday afternoon... a note demanding cash before fleeing on foot with an undetermined amount of money. canaris was taken into custody around 2 this morning. he was in the car stolen from a woman who claimed her baby was inside "that's all i was thinking

with one of the teenagers who police say was inside a stolen car in connection with allegations that a baby had been taken. the car crashed here near western hills high school. four people were taken into custody. one of them was 15-year-old c.j. thomas. while he admits to running from police.. and faces expulsion from school... his mother says he's innocent. fox19 now's jordan vilines sat down with both of them. mary thomas says her son, 15-year- old cj thomas, was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. the wrong place--- the backseat of a car reported stolen and reported to have a newborn baby inside.

thursday -- when the driver of the stolen car allegedly decided to flee from police, and ultimately crashed the car on prosperity street. today we talked with cj about the fleeting moments before crash. "he took them on a high speed chase and i'm like why are you doing that? just pull over and get out. then he crashed and i'm a young black man and i'm probably in a stolen car so i just started running." 5033 - "i was on the phone with him asking him what was going on and he said mom, i was scared, i'm running from the police." a situation that begs the question --- why run if you're innocent? "that's all i was thinking in my head, that's why i started running, i don't want to go back to jail, i don't like jail." he says he received a similar charge for receiving stolen property last year and is still on probation but after thursday's incident, he's worried about the punishment he's now facing from his high school. 1158 -we've been made aware of an incident that he was involved in on his way to school, and because it was on his way to school we

receiving stolen property." here's the thing--- cj's mother says he's not charged with robbery or receiving stolen property. she says him running from police landed him with a charge of obstruction from the extent of it. his deserves the punishment from law enforcement but not from the school, not for a charge that he says her son never committed. in west price hill, jordan vilines, fox19 now. janet walsh, a spokeswoman for cincinnati public schools, says she can't discuss this specific case due to federal student privacy laws. in general, however, she said parents who believe discipline is excessive can appeal to a school hearing officer and, ultimately, the school board. students from
