reading this morning... after a standoff that left an infant seriously injured. neal royal is his girlfriend and two small children at gunpoint for 14 drive friday... until the victims were able to escape and call police. according to the police report, royal caused serious injuries to a 10-month-old boy. one neighbor didn't want to show her face... but says royal is the apartment complex's maintenance man. we're keeping track of breaking news out of sydney. fox 19's sara celi... staying on top of a hostage situation that ended with two people dead. sara? two people are dead... two others hurt...at a workplace in western sydney. one of those hurt... undergoing surgery right now... a six hour standoff also ended a short time ago. this all took place at a sign making business. police say one of the people dead.... is the gunman... and that three other people remained inside the business during the standoff. police do not know what prompted the shooting. new information now on former president jimmy carter's battle with cancer. the 91-year-old told his sunday school class that he no longer needs treatment-- less than seven months after revealing he'd been diagnosed with melanoma that had spread to his brain. he says doctors gave him the good news after a 2-hour m-r-i. carter will continue to undergo scans to make sure the cancer doesn't return.
