8 "because of the skimmers that are going on at the gas stations, can't afford for my account to be knocked out" hamilton county auditor dusty rhodes says these skimming devices have recently started popping up at stations all over the tristate. his office is aware and trying to stay ahead, but he tells me the thieves work quick. 3 "what they do is open the pump up and slip the thing in and they blue tooth it to a phone they can pick up a couple of blocks away, sit there and take the information, or they can come back and get the information...there's two ways of doing it" he says it can take as little as 45 seconds to install and once working, can capture credit card information. recently in louisville, a skimmer admitted to making 130 thousand dollars in just 30 days. and that's what rhodes wants to prevent. now, he's asking stations to use unique keys on each pump and also place tape over the boxes so it's more easily noticable if tampered with. 6 "they're very
