lunch. - add grilled chicken and serve over greens for a hearty dinner salad. my talking points/nutrition tips while we prep are: " march is national nutrition month. " the theme for national nutrition month is "savor the flavor of eating right". " so many times people think eating right is too hard and takes too much time. but my solution is to make dishes that serve more than one purpose. " for instance, the recipe i'm making today is one dish we can use three different ways. " this one dish can be used as a salsa or side dish one night, a quinoa bowl for lunch the next day, and finally, an entree
9:54 am
bonus: it can be served hot or cold! " three different dishes from one simple recipe saves you time and let's you eat right without a lot of effort! " good nutrition should be a variety of foods, giving you a variety of nutrients you need to maintain good nutrition. " lots of color and textures when you are meal planning helps you achieve this! " flavor isn't all about the salt! using herbs, spices, garlic or onion, along with various citrus or vinegars, can add flavor without the added salt. " also, look for foods low in sodium or no added salt to keep your sodium intake low. in this recipe, i chose no added salted canned beans and corn, as well as fresh or vegetables that don't contain any added salt. gfx
