time for our look back at the stars we lost in 2015 and with "e.t." we begin with the most tragic loss this year, the death of bobby christina. >> when news broke that she had been found unresponsive in a bathtub, we all thought, please, not again, not like her mother, whitney houston. i immediately flew to atlanta where her loved ones held a constant vigil until they had to say good-bye. at the funeral home dionne warwick, aunt pat and grandmother cissy houston, with her hands folded in prayer during the procession to the burial site. bobby christina passed away on coma. during that time her family did not allow her ex-boyfriend nick gordon to see her. last week gordon poefed this photo shop christmas card of the two of them both wearing santa hats with presents on their laps. there issen a ongoing investigation into her death and

by -- reporter: we will get you back to programming. a tornado warning for weatherford county and mcdowell county near the north carolina mountains. a bubble cloud reported in these areas as they move through lake door.

the weather map will show you what we are talking about. the tornado warning continues until 7:30 p.m.. there is enough rotation in the atmosphere with this front that is moving through that this fell right here moving into mcdowell county. if you have folks who are traveling on i 40 tell them to stop where they are at right now. this cell is moving over i-40. we have enough rotation in the atmosphere to give us that threat. this is a serious situation as a continues to push up towards the north up to about 30 miles per hour. you folks in the marion it should be in the neighborhood at about 748. -- 7:48 p.m..

this little cell right here that moved over lake lou or had a funnel cloud with it and enough rotation in the atmosphere to get the national weather service to prompt the tornado warning there. the velocity looks at the spinning and rotation in the atmosphere. as we come back up, i will show you the rotation. if you do see this right here, the green and brighter red's indicate that we do have some rotation here. our radar is off of i-85 and skinning up the mountains. this is showing pretty decent rotation. it is probably a little bit more than that because you have some bias with the mountains going up. as our radar scans over it again, i cannot express -- stress it enough. if you family traveling on i-40, that will be a concern as we move forward.

they put a loop on this because this is a cell that is moving very quickly from weatherford county, a hit an old funnel boundary that brought in some cold air. you can see it heading right towards i-40 right towards marion. temperatures in the 70's in the mountains. at a time you get that warm, you can see rotation take this. some safety tips, find a sturdy structure if you are in the path of this dorm in mcdowell county right on i-40 heading toward grune -- i-70. you want to find the lowest floor, a room without windows protect yourself with some pillows. this storm is something you would see in the summertime or spring. not in december. the mountains are not in noon to tornadoes. that is what we are going to see as we continue to move up. we had no watch, no warning.

this bond pretty quickly. the national weather service notice it was rotating pretty warning. right now we have a flash flood watch that goes until 7:30 a.m.. most of brother county, you are in the clear now. it is mostly right along mcdowell. talking about on the radar right now just east of old ford, south of marion, this system continues to be the worst in the area. let me take this -- look at the windshear first. this shows us the rotation and the atmosphere. it is the only area we are concerned about. if you're watching this in anderson, greenwood, this is the concern up any north carolina mountains near mcdowell county.

to marion and a long i 70. to show you how much rotation we have at this, and rotation is about 20 meters per second. there is some elevation here with our radar looking up into the mountains, as we look at that, it is likely it is a little more than that. that is decent windshear for what we should see out of springtime for a storm. as far as hell is concerned, i am seeing a little bit. may be a 10th of an inch there. anytime you get a storm capable of producing a tornado, you are going to have some hail as well. it looks like a bunch of colors, red indicating wind moving away from our radar green is moving towards our radar. a time he get rotation like that, you have a chance for a tornado. let me show you what i am talking about.

these winds are moving towards the radar off anderson. and this is moving away from us. this area near sugar hill road in mcdowell county standing the best chance for that. people on that road, sugar hill road, i-40 40 is a concern i am seeing a right here. regardless of whether this is a tornado on the ground, it is going to have some very gusty winds with it. it is also going to have some potential hill -- hail and rain. anytime we see a system like that around here, it is not like out west where you are going to see this coming for miles away. this would be something you will see in a minor of seconds -- matter seconds before it is upon you. we have the watch extended until 7:45 p.m.. i am keeping a track on this and

bear with me for just a second. i'm going to log back into our chat here. pleasant gardens, woodlawn, marion -- these areas are under the gun right now. the storm was last located seven miles southwest of marion. it is moving north of -- at about 30 miles per hour. as this moves into the mountains, it is moving into the foothills so you have a little bit less rain, more favorable conditions for development of a tornado especially at this time of the day. let me zoom out of here and show you what i am talking about. our commitment here as news four is to go on the air when the threat is therefore a tornado. any kind of life-threatening storm, stay on the air with you until the threat is over.

be on the air with your town, we have that commitment here in marion, mcdowell county. if you are in greenville or anderson county, you are ok. the only rotation is with this new tornado warned storm -- the tornado warning that was going to expire down towards rutherford county has been extended to 7:45 p.m.. in many supercell, it is a loan cell by itself. it is rotating here. we have temperatures in the mountains in the 70's. it is a serious situation for the mountains. we do not typically see tornadoes. at this time. i am a specially concerned about where this is heading. let me show you what i am talking about. i am turning on the velocity, you can see where we are talking about and where the cook is.

it is moving just over i-40. the sugar hill road, the exit off of i-40 and to go to downtown marion. that exit seeing the strongest of the storm right now. it is heading towards pleasant gardens, hankin, tom's creek, eventually woodlawn. i may put a tracker on this for you a better perspective. there is where the cell is, it is moving towards the north at about 30 miles per hour. 733, woodlawn 745, bradley creek at 801, ingles at 816. it is a serious situation folks. many folks do not have their guard up as far as severe weather is concerned. zooming in this is a discrete

it started over at lake blue or, just off of henderson exit. it is moving towards the north. that is when the funnel cloud was reported. we have a rotation on the doppler radar. this cell is traveling up towards marion. all it takes is the winds to be rotating just enough so that you get a little bit of rotation within meteorology. anytime you have down the sloping wins at the edge of a mountain or lake can intensify the rotation ever so slightly enough to possibly get some rotation there in a cell. that is what we're seeing right now. just east of over ford west of marion. this is heading for you folks in pleasant garden. i am putting a tracker on here. let's go ahead and slice this.

come up out here, this system is very dynamic in nature. slicing it in half we get a better perspective of where things are in the system. . the system has some height. this one cell is about 20 feet high. it is pretty impressive when we do not have a lot of tea or energy in the atmosphere. the system continues to progress through marion up through mcdowell county up through the mountain. these areas continue to be the most impacted in mcdowell county right along the foot of the mountain. if you're watching this in anderson county, most of the area looking ok in fact this is the only discrete cell other than -- west of myrtle beach to see anything that is discrete. this great meaning that it is i is self. that is concerning because it

anytime you get a cell that is by it self you have a better chance to rotate. in rutherford county, the tornado warning was six set -- set to expire at 7:30 p.m.. but that one in mcdowell county goes in total -- until 7:45 p.m. we do have a tornado warning until 7:45 p.m.. the latest track that -- it was seven miles west of marion. there is a lot of low level rotation with this despite having no lightning whatsoever. this is an interesting system that we are watching here. it appears in union county, south carolina. it looks like a warning may be issued for the folks down there. but here at home it is about the

let's get right in here closer. and see what it is doing. where the rotation is strongest. let me show you where that is. greenlee just east of their, you have a winds turning there. the wind is going toward our radar. -- on i-85 were the mountains are. the red indicates the wind is moving away from the red -- radar. franklin, asheville, the threat is not for you. right now is primarily in rutherford county and mcdowell county. the threat for rutherford county is starting to come to an end. but let us go street word.
