the tornado was 75 yards wide and on the ground for under a mile. the biggest concern at home will be the flood watch in effect and -- until thursday at 7:00 a.m. more flooding is likely. on the future plus, we will see clouds increase throughout the evening and overnight. sprinkles begin to show up on radar by 3:30. tomorrow morning, when you are heading to work, possibly heavy showers. the heaviest rain arrives tomorrow afternoon. epic rain and rising water caused problems all over the landrum area. that's where we find wyff news 4's mandy gaither. she joins us live and local with the latest there. mandy? mandy: what a difference a few hours makes. i want to show you a picture from earlier this morning of the piece of property i am standing on at caroland farm.

in floodwaters, three feet deep in some areas. check it out now. the water is now all gone, but it has left behind a muddy mess. there's still plenty of water left behind. caroland farm manager matt rainey says the pacolet river has been high the past couple of weeks, but this morning, he says the water started coming over banks, spilling onto the land around it. thankfully, all of the farm's cattle were moved to safety. so far, it doesn't look like any equipment was damaged, either, but it'll take time to know how the crops here were affected. >> not really sure what kind of damage we're going to have here, but like i said before, it's pretty minor here compared to the issues columbia dealt with. it's not my house. nobody's hurt. nobody's dead. it's farming. we will move on. mandy: a portion of highway 14 had to be closed because of the flooding, but crews worked to

out, no problem at all. nigel: the asheville fire department says they put up eric cates because even though the , -- they put up barricades because even though the water has receded, more issues are expected. gabrielle: this morning, the skies cleared, and we were able to send sky 4 into the air to give you look at the different view of the flooding. in the bright sunshine, you can see people cleaning up after mother nature's big beating up. in biltmore village in asheville, they're trying to push all of this mud that's collected in parking lots, out of the way. a wider shot shows many of these parking lots are empty of people, but some cars have been left behind. the john b lewis soccer complex on azalea road is flooded in some spots, and there is a muddy mess next to this nearby business. also in buncombe county, a portion of this railroad track, along highway 70 in swannanoa, is closed off. take a look. a big chunk of land crumbled, leaving a hole under the track. this wide shot of the asheville

french broad river stands. it's even spilled over in some places. and as sky 4 brings us south to landrum, we get another view of caroland farms on north pacolet road. through the fog, we can see the pastures are empty of cows, but filled with water. that's because workers had to move the cows to higher ground as the water here continued to rise. now, the hope is that the sunshine will stick around and help dry things up. as we saw from mandy's report, the flooding in landrum has if you have pictures of floodi in your area, go ahead and share them with us. you can upload your photos or videos to the ulocal section of wyff4.com. nigel: the identities of three people found dead after a house fire in mcdowell county have still not been confirmed. the fire happened on white pine drive on december 23rd. investigators believe heather stagg, her husband, michael, and their five-year-old son, samuel, died in the fire. but because of the condition of

able to confirm the identities during recent autopsies. more testing is being done. the cause of the fire is under investigation. gabrielle: greenville police are releasing surveillance pictures of a man they say robbed the spinx on east washington street yesterday morning. police say this man came into the store around 1:45 in the morning. they say he wore all black, with a camouflage handkerchief over his face. police say he demanded the money from the register, and was armed. know anything that can help call , crime stoppers at 864-23-crime. nigel: in greenwood county, authorities there have seized hundreds of name brand knock-off items during a raid just before christmas. police say the items are worth thousands of dollars. demetrius andrews has been charged with counterfeiting. authorities believed the shop "t-shirts and accessories" on milwee avenue was selling the knock-off items. it was raided on the 23rd. a number of items at andrews' home were also taken by officers.

authorities say escaped from prison almost 30 years ago has been arrested in horry county. officers say james edward coe escaped from prison on june 23rd, 1986. on sunday, police say he was caught shoplifting at hudson's flea market in surfside. the owner of the flea market says coe walked away from the shop without paying for a piece of jewelry. coe is being held with no bond . he was originally set to be released from prison in 1989. nigel: the clemson tigers continue their preps for the orange bowl. gabrielle: and today, the players and coaches met with our wyff news 4 sports department. wyff news 4 sports director brad fralick joins us now, live in south florida. he has more run with what the tigers are up to. did you have to stand in front of the pool, brad? way to show off. brad: we always have to stand in front of the pool. we act like south floridians for a few days.
