mike: asheville police reported a rockslide has close part of patton avenue. it is closed from regent park boulevard area to i-40 -- i-240. what -- rocks were still falling by about 230 this morning. north carolina dot is at the scene along with asheville police. aly: pedestrian has been killed in a wreck this morning. the vehicle hit him on white horse road near west blue ridge drive. troopers say it happened around 1:30 this morning. no other information has been released. mike: also, clemson will be without three players for thursday's game. >> and almost destroyed the house. aly: a christmas present starts

lake yesthey say the lake is in high water condition. the water will flow into the saluda river and eventually into lake murray. the lake at greenwood was never in danger of collapsing. mike: in landrum, people are dealing with monday night's rain. aly: the pack of it river overflowed -- pacolett river overflowed and all of the farm animals removed to safety. it will take time to see how the crops were affected. >> kind of learn to live with rubber boots on and figuring out how to work in the month. aly: other properties aroundaly: landrum had significant flooding, too. a portion of highway 14 had to be shut down. asheville is bracing for heavy rain this morning. they were hit hard flooding yesterday.

mike: in anderson, two dogs attacked three men at the intersection of osborne avenue and shirley street before 7:00 last night. the men were on top of a truck with police got there. the dogs then charged the officers and they were both shot and killed. one man has extensive injuries and may need surgery. the other two have minor injuries and police are looking for the owner of the dogs. aly: pickens county deputies are investigating a homicide after finding a man dead inside his home. the home's on planters way in easley. deputies say a neighbor called 911 after seeing the victim deputies say the man had a gun shot to his chest. the coroner identified the victim as clarence holcombe. mike: in greenville county, deputies say a woman was shot at mountain trace town homes. that's on buttercup way in taylors. the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. deputies say former roommates got into a fight that led to the authorities have not yet

beginning the cleanup process after devastating tornadoes flew through north over the weekend. more than 200 homes were left destroyed by the tornado that hit garland. wins of excess of 200 miles per hour damaged more than 700 homes and eight others touchdown in the dallas area on saturday. the storm claimed eight lives in garland and the and the spectrum was one year old. others were killed in other areas. mike: the couple was stranded inside their car for 20 hours after it was covered by a snow drift. they set out around 8:00 p.m. on the newspaper route when the car drifted into a ditch and the ef2 -- and they ended up stuck. they sell wind gust of the to 67 miles per hour. the dangerous weather conditions met crews could not get to them quicthe andersons were rescued at 4:00 p.m. on sunday and treated

aly: new england tours are getting their first snow of the season. the mountains near princeton, massachusetts, got about three inches of powder in yesterday. tourism officials at the mountain are happy the temperature has finally dropped. it's now cold enough that their man-made snow won't melt, and they've been busy adding man-made snow to the white stuff that has fallen. >> we've been waiting since way before thanksgiving. and this is awesome out here today. >> have you been waiting? >> yes, this morning i was like, it's snowing. oh god, i love skiing, so i wait, like, all year for this. aly: more snow is forecasted into wednesday morning. mike: chicago police officer jason van dyke pleaded not guilty in court yesterday. you may recall he's been charged with first degree murder. investigators say van dyke shot 17-year-old laquan mcdonald 16 times in 2014. he's been free on $1.5 million bond. van dyke was arrested in november just hours before dash

public. aly: belgian police have arrested two people, both accused of plotting terror attacks on new year's eve. investigators say they planned to target several places including brussel's busy main , square. searches turned up isis propaganda material and military-type training uniforms. no explosives or weapons were found. the arrests are not linked to last month's terror attacks in paris. the world's first circular high-speed rail weight will go into ser in china. the lucas more than 400 miles with 29 stops. it will make traveling a little more than three hours around the island. three sections of the railway are giving passengers the unique scenic view. construction started in september 2013. mike: it could take several days to clean up oil discovered in cans, washington.

she was found with her muzzle taped shut in charleston. take a look at where she is now. caitlyn the dog is being featured in a full-page spread in the december edition of "people" magaizne. the magazine dubbed caitlyn's story the best survival story of 2015 in the 2015 pet awards, hero pets section. the issue was released a few days ago. aly: this must see video where this cat has been sitting on top of a utility pole for three days, and people in this phoenix neighborhood aren't sure how to help him get down. temperatures in the area have been close to freezing the past three nights, so this is one cold kitty. people have reached out to the local utility company to see if they can assist in getting the feline back on solid ground. that is sad must see video. i don't like that one. mike: if you love the colors the sun brings to the sky when it sets, check this out. a google analyst spent around 40 hours taking 5,000 pictures.

stunning night skies time-lapse. the astronomy enthusiast took the photos in a two month span, september through november. almost all the images are taken in the u.s. with some taken in kenya. workers in times square will test the famous new year's eve ball today. the test will ensure that the ball will fall and not fail when it descends the flagpole to ring in 2016. this year's ball features over 2,000 sparkling waterford crystals and weighs over 10,000 pounds. about a million revelers are expected to pack times square on thursday to celebrate the new year. aly: coming up next, a rare sight a new england.
