what a day it is for the clemson tigers to play in a championship game for the first time since 1981. we arrived here on saturday. in downtown phoenix, we have seen a lot more orange than crimson. clemson showing up in a big way. fan fest here in downtown and we ran into cj spiller. the clemson great always great talking to fans, signing autographs. i talked to him about this season, especially the poise deshaun watson has shown. >> he commits the offense very well. he shows up on the biggest stage , so i expect nothing less tomorrow night. geoff: do you have a score for me? >> just one more point in alabama. 24-17, 21-17 somewhere in there.

patrick: we have some headlights to get to you now. rescue crews say a 45-year-old man died in a fall near a waterfall. crews say sean kasey of georgia fell from a walkway near dry falls in macon county. officials said kasey fell on saturday, but the search had to be suspended until sunday because of the cold weather. allyson: funeral services will be held today for a long-time state senator. william billy o'dell died thursday morning. he became a state senator in 1989 and served district four. that's abbeville, anderson, and greenwood counties. his funeral will be held this afternoon at the first presbyterian church in greenwood. the service is scheduled for 2:30 and will be followed by a private burial. o'dell was 77 years old. patrick: the powerball jackpot has hit a world record. no one took home the record breaking jackpot saturday. that means it continues to grow before this wednesday's drawing.

in a fall near a waterfall. crews say sean kasey of georgia fell saturday from a walkway near dry falls in macon county. the search had to be suspended until sunday because of the cold weather. allyson: anderson county deputies responded to a double homicide saturday morning near lake secession. investigators said two men were shot to death around midnight. investigators have not released the victims' names yet. patrick: deputies say the discovery of a newborn's body in andreson county led to a murder charge for the baby's mother. deputies arrested 23-year-old joanie holcombe. the baby's body was found saturday morning in a field near cherokee circle. holcombe is set to appear in bond court tomorrow. allyson: president obama will stand before a joint session of congress tomorrow to deliver his final state of the union address at 9:00 tomorrow evening. nikki haley will give the gop response to the president's state of the union. patrick: dale is with us now
