thanks for announcer: live, local, breaking news. this is wyff news 4 today in hd. allyson: seven people, including four attackers, have been killed in terror attacks in downtown jakarta. witnesses say three suicide bombers exploded themselves in a starbucks cafe today. police say there were more than two hours of gunbattles. the deadly attacks were not a complete surprise to authorities who warned last month of a possible deadly attack. geoff: there have been three big wonders and there may be more. we have the winning just a moment. allyson: and counting down to the first debate of the year, the republican presidential candidates face off tonight in north charleston. geoff: i am geoff hart. allyson: i'm allyson powell. dale: we will have more mild temperatures than we have had recently.as a look out from paris mountain we see temperatures in the low 30's in greenville.

the gunman behind the rampage inside a louisiana movie theater left behind a note saying, quote, thank you for the wake-up call, dylan. he was referring to dylann roof. police in louisiana released the copy of john houser's journal, police said houser shot and killed two people and wounded nine others before fatally shooting himself inside the theater. in the journal houser also shared his thoughts on political figures, the media, and other races. geoff: the spartanburg county sheriff is asking for your help finding the shooter who left a mother of two to die. deputies say they arrested her husband, but for an unrelated crime. investigators say someone shot stephanie batchelor multiple times as she got home from work along reidville road last thursday. this is a picture of her from a gofundme page. deputies say her husband found her face down in the grass. her car was gone, but it was later found nearby. >> we want to know why this lady was treated that way.

in jail for it and make them accountable. so, please help us. geoff: they arrested her husband, jonathan bachelor, on sunday. according to a report, he was caught carrying a gun at a store, though his concealed weapons permit was expired. deputies say his arrest has nothing to do with the shooting of his wife. allyson: retailers man -- a taylors man stands accused of trying to hire someone to kill his ex-girlfriend. he was offered $2700 to kill his acts. court records show henderson was charged back in november with solicitation to commit a felony and attempted murder. the sheriff's office says that person, turned down henderson's offer of money. geoff: spartanburg officials are investigating the death of an upstate high school varsity basketball player. the coroner's office says 18-year-old nathan tyler moore was a senior at greer high school. school officials say grief counselors were on hand yesterday for students and teachers.

move free ultra. get your move on. allyson: a new myrtle beach ordinance allows wildlife control to shoot coyotes that are trapped in the city. you may remember this. a coyote ran wild through the myrtle beach airport during a busy time just two days before christmas. the new rule says wildlife specialists could kill the coyotes with a 22-caliber bullet. dnr says that's the most humane method of execution. geoff: starting next week, a midlands town will once again have law enforcement. working in the orangeburg county town of north on tuesday. the entire three member police department quit last year. the former chief resigned in december and the other two officers quit in october and november. this left the town of 750 people without any police. the orangeburg county sheriff's department had been helping out in their absence.

we've a southwest breeze that temperatures. let's check on some of the area. degrees. in hagans county -- in pickens county, 28 degrees. we get colder temperatures coming out fthere. the teens and 20's in the mountains will climb into the 50's. that breeze makes it feel like 26 in spartanburg. normally, 52 is the average high. we are estimating 58 degrees today. the record is 82 back in 1911. that is a very unusual situation, but we can have warmer than normal days. the average is 47 in the

below $30 a barrel yesterday. it is the first time in 12 years. prices settled at $30.44 a barrel. this is great news for american drivers. aaa reports the average price of a gallon of regular gas fell below a $1.97 this week. this compares to $3.68 a gallon about 18-months ago. geoff: al-jazeera america is shutting down. the news channel has been on air for a little more than two years. the decision was announced yesterday at a staff meeting. officials say the station's last day will be april 30. some experts say the decision to shut down may the linked to falling oil prices. the al-jazeera media group is owned by the oil-rich government of qatar. allyson: a paris cafe has reopened two months after the terror attacks that left 130 people dead. carillon cafe became one of the symbols of november's attacks. gunmen killed fifteen people there and at a neighboring business. the mayor of the area where the cafe is located said with the

past. geoff: the michigan national guard jumped into action after called in to help deal with the water crisis in flint. the water crisis began in 2014, when the city in a cost-cutting move stop getting its water from detroit and began sourcing it from the much saltier flint river. environmentalists believe the salt corroded the lead pipes , which supplied the city's water. the national guard distributed bottled water, water filters and blood tests kits to check for lead poisoning. allyson: in grady county, oklahoma fire crews are investigating an oil well fire. at least four fire departments were called to the scene. large plumes of smoke could be seen from several miles away. authorities say smoke from the fire is crossing the road, and troopers have been forced to shut down all lanes of traffic on nearby roads. geoff: a police chase ended in a dramatic fashion right outside

and the entire incident was caught on tape. this happened in montana. officials say the chase started just before 5:00 p.m. local time when a woman was seen driving recklessly. police said she took off when they tried to pull her over. keci security footage caught the car eventually coming to a stop on the sidewalk right next to the station. the driver jumped out of her car and attempted to get into the building, putting the station on lockdown. police arrived and officers surrounded the car. the woman was finally was taken into custody. allyson: bill cosby will not be deposed next month in massachusetts, but his wife will. as you may recall cosby is being sued. he stands accused of defaming seven women in connection to sexual assault allegations. the judge delayed the comedian's deposition because he now faces criminal charges in pennsylvania. instead, camille cosby will be deposed on february 22. geoff: a federal appeals court has ruled wearing military medals that you haven't earned is free speech. a federal court in san francisco
