geoff: commitment 2016. this morning, the republican presidential candidates face off in the first debate of the year right here in south carolina. that takes place in charleston. allyson: fox business network will host the debate and focus on economic, domestic and international policy issues. it will be held at the north charleston coliseum and performing arts center. the seven candidates in the main debate are donald trump, senator ted cruz, senator marco rubio, ben carson, governor chris christie, jeb bush and governor john kasich. carly fiorina, mike huckabee and rick santorum will all be in the so-called undercard debate which takes place earlier in the evening. senator rand paul did not qualify for the main debate and is boycotting the main event. geoff: the man accused of shooting down nine people inside the emanuel ame church in charleston is mentioned in the journal of a gunman in a deadly theatre shooting. the gunman behind the rampage inside a louisiana movie theater left behind a note saying quote , thank you for the wake-up call, dylann.

police released a copy of john hauser's journal. police said houser shot and killed two people and wounded nine others before fatally shooting himself inside the theater. in the journal houser also , shared his thoughts on political figures, the media, and other races. allyson: the spartanburg county sheriff is asking for your help finding the shooter who left a mother of two to die. deputies say they arrested her husband but for an unrelated crime. investigators say someone shot stephanie batchelor multiple times as she gototome from work along reidville road last thursday. this is a picture of her from a gofundme page. deputies say her husband found her face down in the grass. her car was gone, but it was later found nearby. >> we want to know why this lady was treated that way. we want to put the right person in jail and make them accountable. so, please help us. allyson: deputies arrested her husband, johnathan batchelor on sunday. according to a report, he was

store, though his concealed weapons permit was expired. deputies say his arrest has nothing to do with the shooting of his wife. geoff: a taylor's man stands accused of trying to hire someone to kill his ex-girlfriend. warrants say 27-year-old zacherey henderson offered someone $2700 to kill his ex. court records show henderson was charged back in november with solicitation to commit a felony and attempted murder. the sheriff's office says that person turned down henderson's offer of money. officials are investigating the death of an upstate high school varsity basketball player. the coroner's office says 18-year-old nathan tyler moore. was a senior at greer high school officials say grief counselors were on hand yesterday for students and teachers. investigators have not yet released his cause of death. but they do say there is no indication of foul play. are making budget cuts that could end up closing a school. school officials say they are

allyson: 5:12 right now. a new myrtle beach ordinance allows wildlife control to shoot coyotes that are trapped in the city. you may remember this coyote who ran wild through the myrtle beach airport during a busy time just two days before christmas. the new rule says wildlife specialists could kill the coyotes with a 22-caliber bullet. dnr says that's the most humane method of execution. geoff: starting next week, a midlands town will once again have enforcement. a new police chieft working in the orangeburg coun town of north on tuesday. the entire three member police department quit last year. the former chief resigned in december and the other two officers quit in october and november. this left the town of 750 people without any police. the orangeburg county sheriff's department had been helping out in their absence.

mid-50's in the mountains and the upstate will go from the low 30's and upper 20's this morning to the upper 50's for the afternoon. that is all because of the direction the wind is coming from. when it comes from the southwest it brings and milder temperatures. a little breeze this morning makes a feel like it is in the 20's for a good bit of the upstate. normally this time of the year, 32 and the morning and 52 is the afternoon is average. today, we reach 58. the record is 82, said back in 1911. the asheville airport typically reaches the upper 40's, but it can get warm. it reached 76 in 1992. today, it will reach 54-55 degrees. these lows in the gulf will create more cloud cover tomorrow. by 2:00 or 3:00 tomorrow, the
