dale: temperatures got up to 50. that developer melting snow. 48 in the mountains. we will see a nice improvement again it is clear and cold across the region this morning. with those cold early temperatures, watch out for icy spots, especially on secondary and mounta roads where it is 20 in boone, 20 in asheville, low 20'greenville currently at 34. we are expecting an afternoon temperatur to reach into the low 50's today. the mountains will climb to upper 40's to low 50's. we will see a very nice start to our week. again, with low 50's for both the upstate and the mountains, a good bit of thawing will take place.on secondary roads, until the temperature gets above freezing, that is the big concern this money. we will talk more about the rest of the week in a few mimyra: there's excitement throughout the carolinas this morning. that's because the carolina panthers are going to the super bowl. geoff: the nfc championship game was a blowout. cam newton threw for two touchdowns and ran for two

had to our website, www.wyff4.com, live in greenville. myra: investigators in greenville are trying to determine whether ice was a factor that killed a jogger.it happened saturday. the coroner says 44-year-old was jogging when he was hit. geoff: in spartanburg county, troopers blame ice for a three vehicle collision near bmw. look at these pictures sent to us by one of our u-local reporters. this crash happened yesterday around on highway 101. 12:30 that's near gateway drive, behind gsp airport close to bmw. troopers say a tractor trailer hit a frozen patch, crossed the line, and hit a pick-up head-on. the crash pushed the pick-up into a van. troopers say one person in the pick-up and one person in the van had to be taken to the hospital. myra: the greenville county coroner says carbon monoxide killed a couple in their home. the coroner tells us 86-year-old ruby bell and her 87-year-old

the man was 56-years-old. the wreck happened in oconee county. it was on west cherry road near high point boulevard in seneca. highway patrol says an suv pulled out in front of t motorcycle. the rider was taken to greenville memorial where he died. geoff: now to an update on a murder case from las deputies now say the victim was killed by his neighbor. 53-year-old ralph kay is charged with murder. he's from anderson. freeman died at hi corning street in march of 2015. investigators say kay shot him multiple times. detectives tell us evidence on kay's shoe helped connect him to the murder. myra: also in anderson county, deputies say a man knocked a woman to the ground a her purse, and then almost crashed into a deputy during the getaway. 57-year-old calvin davis is facing several charges, including attempted murder. deputies say davis snatched the purse, outside the ingles on highway 24 on friday, investigators say a witness followed davis, which led to a chase involving deputies. detectives say davis almost hit

dale: 5:16 is the time as we look at our woodruff road skycam shops a green ridge. we are getting along fine on i-85 and 385 area it is the secondary roads, especially in the higher elevations of spartanburg, greenville, oconee, pickens county, and western noh carolina, the less traveled roads that i see this morning with cold morning temperatures that have droppedo the 20's and low 30's across the upstate.

what will take a little melt? how about snow total amounts. 13.5 in asheville, bosman got 13 inches of snow. mount mitchell, 19 inches. clayton, georgia was the most and northeastern georgia.8.19 inches. spartanburg, 7.5. travelers rest got seven inches of snow. everyone south of that got quite a bit less. abbeville at 33, greenville at 34. just above freezing for the upstate. still cold in the 20's in the that is where that ice will linger on roads. be careful therelight breeze at three miles per hour. typically, this time of year we had low 50's. that is exactly what we are calling for today for greenville, spartanburg, asheville normally reache upper 40's. yesterday, a got into that. we will see mo like a de-31 for the mountains high.

forecasters say about 22 inches blanketed the area. no one was hurt. fire officials have condemned the property until the owner decides whether or not he will rebuild. geoff: the facade of a shopping center in stafford county, virginia came crashing down sunday. aerial video shows the front of the store where the wall appeared to separate from the building and fall. the region south of washington, d.c. got about two-feet of snow this weekend. there are no reports of injuries. myra: heavy snow drifts caused several problems for fire and rescue crews in maryland and pennsylvania. in maryland, an explosion caused the roof of an ind building to collapse in belcamp dumping about two feet of snow inside. no one was hurt. a fire also broke out at an auto body shop in white marsh. officials say more than 100 firefighters battled t shooting flames. the national guard was needed to transport crews to the scene and dig out fire hydra the heavy amounts of snow. no injuries were reported.
